Above The Sky-Chapter 1843 - 371: The Power to Destroy the World (Short - )
This world has been destroyed several times.
The first destruction was the war of unification of the pre-epoch civilization.
The ancient races took pride in their civilization, believing their blood and wisdom far surpassed others, that they were the favored children of the Heavenly Father, the destined rulers of this land, and thus they mercilessly destroyed and slaughtered until thousands of suns blazed upon the earth.
Sorrow and crying appeared insignificant amidst the intense war, as the tears of countless living beings were evaporated by the scorching flames of the sun, until finally, with the sudden change of climate, there was no pure land left in the entire world, and life was like autumn weeds, harvested and crushed en masse.
Countless deaths brought about fear, and countless fears brought about unification.
The Terra Federation was born not out of peace and love, nor due to the sudden enlightenment of intelligent life, but because the world had been destroyed.
Therefore, they had no choice but to unify in order to survive.
The first thing the nascent Terra Federation did was to gather the world’s most elite Alchemists and Ecologists to attempt world restoration, and in this process, biotechnology advanced rapidly, even the prehistoric ’Sublimation Path’ was rediscovered.
During the remolding of the world, the Sublimation Path also developed rapidly. Coupled with genetic modification, cyber implantation, and consciousness upload training, a rather primitive sublimation method by today’s standards began to emerge, and the differences between major races gradually dissipated due to the Sublimation Path.
When the world regained its prosperity, the entire Terra’s races were thoroughly integrated—in the extreme effects of biotechnology, any type of human could become any other type of human, the mysteries of genes had been unraveled, the sacredness of the bloodline was eradicated, humans were identical except for the ’spirit,’ thus the whole world united.
Of course, if this were all, humans would not have ended wars; even if bodies were identical, humans would wage war for reasons like territory and culture.
Until 3432, when the Alliance’s lunar Fae Exploration Team discovered the ’Spark’ on the Moon.
They found the aliens’ spaceship.
It was a stunning reversal, a miraculous awakening. Realizing the vastness of the endless starry sky, all beings armed with swords and guns looked up at the stars on the celestial canopy and finally discovered that all their mutual slaughter was so trivial, so meaningless.
Like dust in the wind, sand in the sea.
Thus, they laid down their arms and picked up their childhood telescopes.
Retrieved the curiosity.
From then on, even the spirit of humans, under the broader starry skies, was unified as ’Terra Civilization.’
Since then, with the appearance of the Terra Dragon, which was hidden behind ancient civilizations and only met with leaders of various nations, along with the emergence of True Dragons, even the Star Gods of the same clan as the ’Heavenly Father’ made the Terra people understand that the universe they dwell in is vast and boundless, and their existence, their safety, is closely connected with all the civilizations in this star sea.
It was the most prosperous century, with Terra’s technology rapidly advancing, civilization becoming extremely stable; in the two hundred years following human unification, development was ten times faster than in the past two thousand, three thousand years.
Yet, what followed was Heavenfall.
In Fiery Flame Land, scattered city-states were established on the scorching yellow earth, and underground, a prosperous subterranean world connected every city-state, with countless roads forming like river networks, constantly streaming forward, branching out, spawning countless towns and villages. Apart from the Dwarves who had begun constructing deep underground bases in the Earth’s crust, only the People of the Fiery Flame Land valued everything underground so highly.
And at the center of all these networks, deep beneath the side of Fiery Flame Land adjacent to the Great Desert, a slender, even emaciated figure opened their eyes and looked towards the New Continent.
This was a person who could almost be called skin and bones, a man or a woman? They didn’t possess any features, no hair or eye color, their body resembled a pure white silhouette, a basic stick figure.
Yet anyone could see they were human. Aside from this, there were no human characteristics.
So-called purity is loss. Losing features, losing uniqueness, losing traits, losing everything beyond definitions.
When stripped to the point of no further removal, what remains is purity.
And only purity can attain everything.
The figure gazed towards the New Continent, sensing a mighty vitality burgeoning, the ’Power of the Heavenly Ladder’ accumulated at the center of the New Continent, a backup prepared by the pre-epoch civilization to rebuild the planet’s ecology after the surface ecosystem was destroyed by other civilizations or by the earth, to counter another ’full-scale war,’ ’world war,’ or even ’interstellar war.’
This power was once coveted by others of the Fifth Energy Level, but upon detecting the Heavenly Ladder’s rejection, none of the Fifth Energy Level were willing to leave their territory for the power contained in a distant place. The risk was too great; unless a ’holder of authority’ appeared, otherwise, the Heavenly Ladder would never open for these ’experiments of the later generations.’
If forcibly breached, the Heavenly Ladder would go to any length to perish together with them.
Even if not perishing together, nothing would be gained, furthermore, it would cause severe damage to themselves, this risk far outweighs the benefits, even the Sertar Empire at its peak would not waste this power to venture afar, they needed to conquer Terra Continent first. Only after conquering everything on this land would people have the spare capacity to look into the distance.
