a Yandere Harem in a Magic World Can't be That Bad-Chapter 8: The Black Fox Is Trying To Take What’s Mine
Chapter 8: The Black Fox Is Trying To Take What's Mine
I sprinted, my new form moving gracefully through the throng of students. Jealousy fueled my steps as I charged toward the magic grounds, the green fields stretching in the distance. Who was she? What did she want with him? My thoughts swirled with images of Luke—Luke holding her hand, Luke smiling at her like he smiled at me, Luke giving her the attention that should have been mine.
The thought made my stomach twist in knots. He was mine; he couldn't belong to anyone else.
I reached the edge of the field, breathless but relentless. The wide-open space seemed empty at first, but then I saw them.
Luke was talking to a girl, her presence immediately overwhelming. She was another fox kin.
Even from a distance, I could see how tall she was, almost reaching Luke's size with an imposing figure. Her long black hair shimmered with purple undertones, and her ears flicked attentively as she leaned toward him. But it was her eyes—piercing and golden—that held my attention. Two striking pink marks slashed across her cheeks, giving her an exotic look.
A huge black tail swished behind her, so vibrant and full it made mine seem small in comparison. Her body rivaled even my own: every curve was perfect and effortlessly stunning.
It wasn't just me that noticed; other students stopped to gawk at the sight of her. Even among the magical, her beauty was something to behold.
Who was she? Why was she here? Why was my Luke with her?
I felt a knot of anger mix with panic.
The new girl had Luke's full attention, so much that he didn't even notice me standing there, watching them. They were close, closer than I could stand to see, both of them looking at each other like no one else existed.
I froze as it happened. Luke's arms hovered above the girl's head, and then he began petting her ears. He scratched gently, a small smile on his face.
My knees went weak.
The Fox kin's imposing figure crumbled under his touch. Her golden eyes closed in bliss as she leaned into his hand, her whole body seeming to melt with each stroke. The confident and exotic aura she exuded vanished, leaving her soft and vulnerable in a way I couldn't look away from.
Each second was agony as I watched him treat her like she was something special—as if she were the only thing that mattered to him in that moment.
How could he touch her like that?
The same way he touched me.
Fury rose inside me, hot and consuming. I was the only one that deserved his touch, his hands. The thought of him petting her made something primal scream within me.
She wasn't supposed to take what was mine.
I stormed toward them, my steps silent but filled with purpose until I stood a few meters away from them.
"Ahem!" I cleared my throat loudly.
Both of their eyes flew open, like they'd been caught doing something indecent. Luke pulled his arm back quickly, looking sheepish and a bit guilty. The girl stayed close to him, her eyes fixed on Luke with an unreadable expression on her face.

"Iris!" Luke's voice carried a mix of surprise and nervousness as he greeted me.
I tried to keep my tone light, but the tension inside me seeped through. "There you are! Thought I might find you here."
He gestured toward the girl, trying to sound casual. "This is Luna. She's new here."
Luna met my gaze, and for a moment, everything else faded away. My senses went wild, instincts flaring like sirens. It was as if my entire body had been introduced to a threat. Luna seemed to feel the same; her composed demeanor shifted as her golden eyes grew cold and serious.
What was this? I couldn't understand the feeling that surged through me. My ears, that I normally keep low shot up, and my tail spiked behind me. I'd never felt like this before. I glanced at Luna; her huge black tail stood still and alert. She felt it too.
Luke didn't seem to notice the tension. "We were just talking," he said, scratching his head awkwardly.
I laughed, a sound more strained than I intended. "I can see that!"
Luna's eyes never left mine, a silent challenge simmering in their depths. Who was she to act this way toward me? I was the one who'd known Luke forever, not her. She couldn't just appear out of nowhere and take him from me.
"Nice to meet you, Luna." I forced sweetness into my voice, though the words tasted bitter on my tongue.
She finally spoke, her voice smooth but wary. "You're his sister?"
The question lingered in the air, loaded with meaning. For a split second, I couldn't answer. Her words were simple, but the way she said them felt like an accusation.
"I'm his sister," I replied, my voice steadier than I felt. "And you're new."
Luke laughed nervously, trying to ease the tension. "Yeah, Iris is my little sister. She always finds me somehow."
I wanted to reach for him, to take his hand and pull him away from her, but the ground beneath me might as well have been quicksand. The way Luna watched me made it impossible to move.
Luke seemed oblivious to the silent battle raging between us. He glanced at Luna, still smiling.
"We were just catching up," Luke said, oblivious to the tension. "I was showing Luna some magic, like we used to do back then." He looked impressed. "She's pretty good at it."
The compliment stung, but I forced myself to stay calm. "Learning fast, huh?" I said with a strained smile.
Luna didn't answer; her eyes stayed locked on mine.
I tried to sound casual. "Maybe we should head home, Luke?"
His glance shifted between us, sensing something but not understanding. "Oh, right. I guess we should get going soon."
Luna stepped a little closer to him, refusing to back down. "We were in the middle of something," she said softly, her voice cold and demanding.
My patience wore thin. "He can finish teaching you later," I snapped before regaining my composure. "We have plans today."
I took Luke's hand, gripping it tight as I tugged him toward me. "Let's go," I insisted, more forcefully this time.
But Luna didn't let go. She reached for his other hand, her slender fingers wrapping around his wrist with surprising strength. Her eyes challenged me, refusing to back down.
The sight infuriated me. She didn't have the right to take what was mine, to hold him like that.
Something sparked inside me, hot and electric. On my free hand, a small volt crackled to life, more than enough to end her life in an instant. It pulsed dangerously—my instincts screaming at me to protect what was mine.
She was weak. One attack was all it took, and she would vanish into nothing but ash and blood.
The image that I made inside my mind, the image of this fox made an unrecognizable bloody mess was delicious.
I wanted to kill her.
But Luke stood between us, innocent and unaware. I hesitated, my anger warring with something softer.
A moment's weakness stopped the jolt from leaping at her. I couldn't risk hurting him.
Luke glanced at both of us, sensing the tension but not understanding. "Hey, Luna," he said gently. "We can pick this up tomorrow, okay?"
His comforting smile seemed to break through her defenses. Luna's grip faltered as she looked at him; her entire posture softened.
I couldn't hide my disgust. "Gross," I muttered, watching as her hand slipped away and her ears drooped slightly.
"Okay," she said, her voice quieter now.
The small victory made my heart race with triumph. Luke was mine, and I'd won. I pulled him closer, feeling his warmth next to me.
Luna stood there, watching us with a composed expression. But I knew what she felt; it mirrored the desperation that had clawed at me only moments ago. She thought she could take him from me, but I wasn't going to let that happen. He's my fated one. I felt that Jult of electricity, you didn't.
He's mine.
Luke smiled awkwardly, trying to lighten the mood. "Guess I'll see you around?"
"Yeah," Luna replied, her voice an icy echo.
Luke waved as I dragged him away, refusing to look back. The distance between us and Luna grew, and with each step, my anger slowly ebbed. Luke was back at my side, where he belonged. I had won this round, but the threat of her lingered in my mind like a shadow.
I needed to act quickly; the new girl's appearance changed everything. My plan had been to let what happened yesterday simmer—to let Luke think about the connection we'd shared before taking things further. But now? Now I couldn't afford to wait.
I had to claim him fully, put my scent on him so thoroughly that no one else would dare come near. Even if it meant rushing things, it was better than losing him to someone like her. A few more days, maybe less, and he'd be mine entirely.
