Floki had not really gotten the opportunity to properly test out his strength and speed after entering silver-rank.

Nonetheless, after testing out his agility by running continuously for a long time, he could already tell that a lot had indeed changed within him.

He was now more than ten times faster than an average human being, and despite running at an intense pace for a long time, he did not run out of stamina immediately.

Somehow, his silver-rank power had reduced the rate at which his stamina depleted, even in exhausting situations such as constant sprinting, allowing him to push further than before.

Floki eventually found himself deep inside the dark forest at the time he halted his motion.

He was surrounded by tall trees and thick bushes, and the constant sound of insects and distant birds could be clearly heard echoing through the environment.

The entire forest was quite dark, with only minimal illumination coming from the faint half-moon hanging above.

But Floki could see.

Not exactly perfectly clear, though. If one were to compare it, it would be as clear as one would be able to see in the evening, not as clear as morning nor afternoon.

Even so, this level of vision was more than enough for him to tread carefully and avoid monsters that might be lurking in the shadows.

It was also advantageous, because using a torch in a forest like this would only draw the attention of monsters unnecessarily.

"Now where do I go from here?"

The question arose naturally in his mind.

He scanned his surroundings carefully, his gaze moving from one direction to another, yet each path looked almost exactly the same as the others.

"Ahh..."

Floki grunted in annoyance.

This was the part where he would have needed Anton and Jabba.

"But they are also very slow. We should still be very close to the village by now if I had taken them along," he muttered with a sigh.

Aside from their sluggishness when compared to him, the other reason he came alone was because he wanted a bit of privacy.

And the reason for that privacy was also because he was targeting something, or rather someone, but would that person even show up?

’It doesn’t matter if he shows up or not.’

He quickly shook off the expectation and forced his mind back to what truly mattered.

He decided to focus on his main task, hunting.

After a few more seconds of indecision and silent observation, he finally picked a path to follow and blasted in that direction at high speed.

As he moved, he passed through different natural structures such as oddly shaped trees, strange vines that changed color when stepped on, and faintly glowing flowers that emitted a soft light.

He did not get to notice any of these the first time he entered the forest, so he was slightly surprised to see them now.

Unfortunately, sightseeing was not the reason he came, so he ignored all of them and continued moving forward without slowing down.

"There are still no monsters..." he complained after about ten minutes of constant movement.

"If only the system provided any skill related to pathfinding or monster baiting, I would have bought them without hesitation," he added with another sigh.

The skill he had purchased earlier was a long-range spell named Air Bullet.

The spell was exactly what he needed. Long-range, difficult to see, and as a result difficult to detect and evade, it was a perfect addition to his current skill set.

Just as he continued running and scanning for monsters, his ears suddenly perked up as a low whooshing sound grew louder and closer from behind him.

Acting instantly, Floki engaged his leg muscles and lunged to the side at the precise moment the sound drew close enough, and this simple yet decisive movement saved him.

Behold, flying only a few centimetres away from his face was the clenched fist of a strange monkey, swinging rapidly with the help of thick vines from a nearby tree.

"A monkey?"

Its sudden appearance confused Floki slightly.

But he was not given enough time to think, as right from behind him again, two more swinging monkeys closed in with their clenched fists aimed directly at him.

This time, he noticed something different.

Their fists were reinforced with a steel-like hardness, giving them a dangerous and unnatural appearance that would have easily left behind a ghastly wound.

"What should I call you guys? Iron fist monkeys?"

Floki uttered calmly as he evaded the attack and repositioned himself.

His eyes quickly picked up another pair approaching, and this time he chose to act instead of retreat.

Stretching his hand forward in their direction...

"Air Bullet!"

He activated his magic skill.

He felt a strange and surreal sensation, as though energy was being forcefully drawn out of his body and gathered into his hands. Then, right before his eyes, a brief magic circle appeared and rotated faintly.

The magic circle vanished almost instantly, and a compressed burst of air shot forward in the exact direction his hands were pointing.

His initial aim was the head of the approaching monkey. Unfortunately, due to his lack of experience and poor aim, the attack struck the vine instead, causing the two monkeys to lose their grip and fall heavily to the ground.

’That feels great.’

Floki was still delighted despite the poor accuracy. After all, this was his very first time using magic.

SCREECH!

The two monkeys that crashed onto the ground let out sharp and aggressive screeches before lunging toward him again.

The air bullet cooldown had already ended.

Floki quickly released another one toward them, and this time he managed to hit one of them in a non-vital area, causing it to stagger and fall slightly behind, while the other unharmed monkey continued rushing straight at him.

Without hesitation, Floki summoned the sword Breeze had given him, and the moment the monkey got close enough, he swung the blade cleanly and sliced its neck off in one smooth motion.

Their collective screeches were rather scary.

But Floki was not fazed in the slightest.

After all, the monkeys were relatively weak.

They had strength and reinforced steel-like fists, sure.

However, the rest of their bodies were completely defenseless, and they all attacked using the exact same predictable pattern.

"Come at me, black monkeys."

He spoke with a calm and confident expression on his face.

His onslaught began the moment the first iron monkey reached him, which he cut down instantly with a simple and effortless swing of his blade.

The others followed one after another without hesitation, and each of them met the exact same fate under his sword.
