Saving the Heartthrob Frenemy - Chapter 215: "Kill him."
King Luo, standing amid the chaos of the battlefield, locked eyes with, Queen Yana, perched high on the palace wall. A sense of palpable tension hung in the air as the two rivals prepared for the inevitable clash. With a snap of her fingers, a monsteric monk hastily brought over a seat for her. She sank into it, her icy gaze never leaving King Luo.
"Kill him," she commanded, her voice echoing off the stone walls. As dark storm clouds loomed above King Luo, Boran, and Yunning they braced themselves for the coming attack. The archers atop the wall loosed a rain of arrows, the projectiles whistling through the air. Yunning, with a wave of her hand, conjured a shimmering shield of magic. The arrows pelted harmlessly against it, turning to dust upon contact.
Boran without a moment’s hesitation, sprinted through the rain of arrows, his movements a blur of speed and strength. Dodging and weaving, his reflexes impeccably sharp, he fought against the wind and impending danger.
With each step, Boran’s focus intensified. He spun his greataxe with a ferocity matched only by his determination. The gleaming blade sliced through the air with a haunting swish, carrying an aura of power. As he approached the palace wall, King Luo, standing a distance from him extended his hand and conjured a magic barrier to protect him.
The arrows, intended for Boran’s demise, met an invisible shield as they collided with the magical forcefield. Their momentum waned, rendering them harmless. Boran’s eyes locked onto his targets on the distant wall, unyielding in his purpose. With a mighty heave, he released his greataxe, propelling it toward the unsuspecting archers.
The greataxe hurtled through the air, mimicking the trajectory of a boomerang, swift and merciless. It cleaved through the ranks of the archers with unrelenting force, sending them tumbling to the ground. The rain of arrows ceased momentarily as Boran’s devastating throw disrupted their coordinated assault.
However, as the fallen archers were swiftly replaced, the threat remained. Boran’s gaze narrowed, his grip tightening on the handle of the returning greataxe. With a thunderous crash, it landed back in his hand, drawn back like the legendary Mjölnir, Thor’s hammer. He wasted no time, repeating his deadly process.
Time and time again, Boran unleashed his greataxe upon the wall, striking fear into the hearts of the archers.
King Luo, in a demonstration of his extraordinary abilities, employed his mystical prowess to counter the flurry of arrows. Utilizing his own formidable magic, he erected a shimmering shield that deflected the projectiles expertly. The archers’ onslaught turned futile against the king’s impervious defence.
However, Queen Yana, driven by her own dark agenda, had a malevolent trick up her sleeve. Exerting her control over the minds of King Luo’s once loyal soldiers, she commanded them to attack their former leader. An entire army rushed out from within the palace gates. Their faces, once familiar, now wore an eerie, vacant expression as they clashed with Boran and Yunning, adding another layer of complexity to an already tumultuous battle.
As the conflict escalated, it seemed that King Luo and his cohorts were being overwhelmed by the forces attacking them.
As though inspired by the King’s rebellion the citizens who held unwavering loyalty and love for him emerged from the shadows. They had suffered enough under Queen Yana’s tyranny and any resistance they put up before would be thawed in an instant but they still had the desire to fight for their freedom.
Rallying together, they joined the fight with unwavering determination, creating a formidable force struggling to counter Queen Yana’s army. They were determined but the citizens were still powerless against trained men under the influence of Queen Yana.
In a pivotal moment, King Luo transformed into an awe-inspiring platinum dragon. With a mighty roar that resonated through the battlefield, he unleashed a wave of energy that disintegrated his enemies, as if the very essence of his draconic nature empowered his wrath.
Queen Yana, taken aback by the unexpected power exhibited by King Luo, felt a chilling sense of unease creeping upon her. She realised that something was amiss. King Luo was not supposed to possess such immense strength after losing his dragon heart scales. Even Loviator ceased her evil laughter, no longer revelling in the suffering of the people.
However, as the battle wore on and the strain of his transformation consumed him, King Luo reverted to his human form. Though his expression remained stern, exhaustion and weakness weighed heavy upon him, and he struggled to resist assuming his smaller dragon form.
The battlefield, drenched in dust and chaos, fell silent as the people, now in awe and fear of their dragon king, bowed before him.
Undeterred by their weariness, King Luo, Yunning, and Boran stepped forward through the cloud of dust, their determination unbroken. Sensing the change in the tides, Queen Yana swiftly changed tactics, formulating a new strategy to counter the resilience of their adversaries.
She issued a command and her monks, donned in blue robes, leapt off the tall wall heading towards King Luo with fierce determination.
Behind him, Yunning and Boran prepared themselves for a face-off against the monstrous monks, under the command of Queen Yana. The monks, fueled by evil magic, launched a fierce attack against the valiant trio.
Fueled by anger and determination, Yunning unleashed her own formidable magic, the rune on her hands glowing with intense red light. The person she really wanted to kill wasn’t here so she could only vent it all out on these monks. Because she was fighting out of anger she seemed to have an overwhelming advantage over the enemy.
However, the conflict intensified, and Yunning lost her advantageous position. Seeing her in peril, King Luo swiftly cast a protective spell, shielding her from imminent danger. In a stunning turn of events, the two monks who had posed a threat were swiftly defeated and met their demise. 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
Yunning turned her gaze to look at him her heart leaping for joy. When she told King Luo that they needed proper planning before rescuing Eling, he looked at her with extreme coldness in his eyes like he didn’t care for her at all. She even lost the confidence to use the love potion at that moment. She honestly thought that he wouldn’t give a rat arse’s about her so when he helped her she was genuinely surprised.
"Thank you," she whispered the coldness and fierceness on her face gone.
