Zombie Apocalypse: I Have Safe Zone Superpower-Chapter 36: Unexpected Surprise
Chapter 36: Chapter 36: Unexpected Surprise
Silas was startled by the murderous aura Ivy was radiating. With a worry etched on his face, he asked,
"Ivy? Are you okay?"
His melodious, velvety voice doused cold water on Ivy’s bloodlust. She blinked before giving an apologetic expression,
"I... I thought about something unpleasant. You should go and help. I will look around and see if I can find any clues."
"No." Silas firmly denied. Who knows what type of dangers might be lurking? From Ivy’s earlier warning, it was clear that anyone could die if they took a misstep.
Ivy smiled, "Don’t worry. I will survive even if others don’t."
God doesn’t let evil people like her die easily. He makes sure to torment them till they beg for death, and even then, he cruelly makes sure they stay alive and rot in the hell named Earth.
Before Silas could restrict her, Ivy walked away. He could only helplessly look at her.
Sometimes Ivy’s actions proved to him, they were close, and things would turn out great. But other times... he kept on feeling as if there was an invisible line between them.
....
Ivy didn’t know the exact location, considering that for her, a lot of time had passed after Stephen’s death.
She only remembered a vague detail. A colossal tree...
Along the way, she met a few zombies, but they ignored her.
A zombie suddenly stumbled in front of Ivy and stared at her. Before Ivy could take action, the zombie saluted and left...
Ivy: (o_O) ? Eh? Eh?
Ignoring the zombie, Ivy checked tree after tree.
Nothing.
In fact, she hardly saw an insect. 45% of the animals, insects, and birds will die due to the virus, and the remaining 25% will be dormant for a year or so before turning into zombie animals. The remaining 30% will be mutated, which will become the primary source of food for humanity.
Just as Ivy was checking the trees, the sound of a whisper attracted her attention.
"Are you sure, this is the right thing to do?"
"I don’t know! My uncle asked me to do this! He promised to admit me to his team if I succeed this time.
The voice of opposition died down.
Ivy’s eyes narrowed, and she peeked, only to find a familiar face.
Ronan, Mark, and Parker. The waste of Frank’s team. Logically speaking, they were still members of Stephen’s team.
However, for a mysterious reason, they were shifted to Frank’s team after 2 months of Stephen’s death.
Later, these three people acted like tyrants and opened their own small factions. One dabbled in manipulating the price of food, and the other two in human trafficking.
How can she forget them? They were the ones who had captured her the first time she had tried to escape and...
"Shhh! Now shut up, all of you! Follow my lead and release it here." Ronan’s voice brought Ivy back from her unpleasant memories.
Ivy watched with malice in her eyes. This time... she will kill them all before they make the apocalypse a worse place.
However, she was surprised when she saw Ronan taking out a box and releasing a snake. To be precise... it was a zombie snake!
Now the mystery of how the zombie snake had arrived in the suburbs was cleared.
Ivy reacted quickly and recorded the scene. Though she wasn’t able to capture the moment Ronan had let a zombie snake out, she was lucky enough to record the conversation that happened later.
"Now what should we do?" Mark asked nervously, and he kept on looking around, fearing that someone might see them.
Ronan straightened up, a smirk etched on his face,
"Nothing. We will wait. When 99% work is done, attract everyone’s attention here. Pretend to be scared and cause fear in soldiers’ hearts. At that time, Stephen will have to come forward and then... bam! Hahaha!"
Mark and Parker barked out a fake laugh. From their expression, it was clear that this was the first time they were doing such a thing.
After they left, Ivy walked out of the tree and stored the zombie snake in her space.
[You have stored a zombie snake. Would you like to convert it into KB?]
Eh?
Ivy was startled. Can infected animals be converted into kindness energy?
"Yes!" She ordered.
[Executed. Congratulations! You have earned 20 KB!]
Ivy was pleasantly surprised. The trip wasn’t in vain. She dealt with the danger ahead of time and even gained 20 KB!
Soon she found Silas and Stephen told them everything.
Stephen was furious.
"That brat! How dare he scheme against me! Frank... just you wait! I will deal with your nephew and you once and for all!"
Silas’s face was ugly, too. If Ivy hadn’t uncovered the truth on time, he might have lost his uncle today.
His doubts about conspiracies became firm, too.
He turned toward Ivy and bowed,
"Thank you, Ivy. If it wasn’t for you, we might have lost more than just my uncle today."
Stephen too bowed to Ivy and said in a gratitude-filled voice,
"I will remember your help, Ivy! One day, if you ever need my help, just tell me. My team will back you up from now on."
Ivy was a bit flustered and shook her head,
"No need!"
With that, she left and got inside Silas’s jeep.
Stephen chuckled, seeing how nervous Ivy looked. He turned toward Silas and whispered,
"Your wife is quite excellent. Keep an eye on her. What if she catches someone’s attention and ends up with him? "
Silas glared at his second uncle,
"Uncle, you should worry about your life. With schemers in your army, god knows how long you will survive."
Stephen: (ᵕ—ᴗ—) Kids nowadays get angry pretty quickly.
"Alright. Alright. I was wrong. She will end up with you."
Silas’s expression eased a little before he followed Ivy.
Ivy sat on the seat with an astonished expression.
Eh?
A voice echoed in her mind.
[You have helped an honest man. You have gained 10 KB!]
