Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 335: Just as Expected
This Victor Grant was just taking advantage of May Morgan’s naivety, deliberately tricking her into going to France to get registered.
May Morgan looked up at Adam Owens in surprise, "Is it... that troublesome?"
She thought again and suddenly laughed it off, "Forget it, who would mention divorce without a reason? I’ve been married once already, and Victor Grant doesn’t disdain me, marrying me is already giving me face. If I keep fussing about divorcing him, what kind of person would I become? Who would dare want a thrice-married woman like me in the future?"
Adam Owens turned his head to glance at May Morgan, gazing at her face that still haunted him. For a moment, he felt an impulse to say, "I’ll marry you."
But then, thinking of Maxwell Vance and the child in her belly, he sighed helplessly, saying nothing.
The car soon arrived at the mental hospital where Mason Morgan was, and when they saw Mason Morgan again, his complexion was still good, not much different from how May Morgan last saw him.
Seeing Mason Morgan in good spirits, May Morgan quickly asked him, "How many secrets about the Dragon Insect do you know?"
Mason Morgan scanned her up and down with a strange smile, almost eerie, and May Morgan hesitated for a moment, then took out the Dragon-shaped Jade Pendant from her pocket to show him.
When he saw the originally flawless white Jade Pendant turn into an eerie red and black, his expression changed.
"This Jade Pendant..." Mason Morgan grabbed it from May Morgan’s hand and examined it closely in his palm.
At the moment his fingers touched the Jade Pendant, May Morgan clearly saw the same fear in his eyes as she once experienced.
"Mason Morgan, do you know what happened to this Jade Pendant? Why did it become like this?"
Holding her breath, May Morgan asked urgently.
Mason Morgan looked up at May Morgan, then looked down at the Jade Pendant in his hand, and replied solemnly, "This Jade Pendant now contains an Insect!"
An insect? What insect? Could the color change have anything to do with the implanted Insect?
"What else do you know? Who planted the Insect inside? What kind of Insect is it? And why has Vincent been in a coma all this time? Does it relate to this peculiar Jade Pendant?" May Morgan anxiously grabbed Mason Morgan’s arm, asking again.
Mason Morgan returned the Jade Pendant to May Morgan and continued, "If I’m not mistaken, this Insect should be a wisp of that woman’s soul."
That woman? Could it be that mysterious old woman? But how could the Jade Pendant contain a person’s soul? What other secrets does this strange Jade Pendant hold that she doesn’t know about?
"Can you be more specific? Please!" Previously distant to Mason Morgan, May Morgan’s demeanor had to soften to save Vincent’s life.
Every time she thought of Vincent lying in bed, looking emaciated, her heart ached intensely, "Dad... I know you’re clear-minded now and must know the secret of the Jade Pendant. I’m sorry for how I’ve treated you in the past. I now beg you, if you know how to bring Vincent back to life, could you tell me? I would be deeply grateful."
Mason Morgan gave her a complicated look, sighed gently, and said, "May, I do know a way to bring Vincent back, but this way might take your life, so you need to think through carefully on whether you want to use your life to save his."
May Morgan immediately replied to Mason Morgan without any hesitation, "I can do it. Even if I have to trade my life for his, I am willing."
For the rest of her life, even if Vincent cannot come back, she will never find joy again. But if she can use her life to trade for his, perhaps even in death, she could find solace.
Mason Morgan looked steadily at May Morgan for a while, then nodded silently, gesturing her to come over, "Come here, I’ll tell you everything."
...
Coming out of the sanatorium, Adam Owens anxiously watched May Morgan. Compared to the tension before their visit, her complexion was noticeably off afterwards.
"May, what did your dad say to you? Can he save Vincent?" Adam Owens asked worriedly while driving.
May Morgan nodded, answering softly, "Yes, don’t worry, I have a way."
A way? Then what does that expression mean? Could this way be difficult?
"May, if there’s anything you need help with, just say it. I’d risk my life to help you." Adam Owens sincerely promised her, looking steadfastly at her.
May Morgan gave Adam Owens a grateful glance, then faintly smiled, "Thanks, no need, it’s not as complicated as you think."
It’s not that it’s not as complicated as he thinks; it’s just that the way to save Vincent is one that, besides May Morgan herself, no one else in the world can accomplish.
Mason Morgan said that the Jade Pendant contains blackness because a wisp of that woman’s soul was sealed inside, and the one who sealed it was Vincent.
Vincent knew this method from Mason Morgan, who had been clear-minded for a long time, but Vincent intentionally hid the information and sealed the secret, leading May Morgan to believe Mason Morgan was still in a crazed state.
Mason Morgan told him, the Jade Pendant can seal not just the Dragon Insect but other things too, like a human soul. But there’s a condition; you need the fresh blood of a person to seal it. Moreover, people without ability, after sealing something inside, might be backlashed by whatever stronger entity resides within. So, Mason Morgan believed that the blood-red color was caused by Vincent being backlashed by the woman’s soul, leaving behind his essence.
To release Vincent’s soul, someone else needs to unseal it with blood. May Morgan has the Dragon Insect, whose power surpasses everything. Using her blood to release Vincent would not only be smooth but also wouldn’t release the woman’s soul along with it.
But it isn’t foolproof either since releasing Vincent’s soul needs May Morgan’s heart’s blood.
Once the heart’s blood is out, no one can say for sure about May Morgan’s life and death.
But despite the risk to her life, May Morgan never thought of backing down. Rather than seeing Vincent lie in bed like a vegetable, she’d rather risk her life to gamble for Vincent’s.
If successful, everyone would be happy. If not, she would have no regrets.
Just as Adam Owens’ car left the sanatorium and hadn’t yet hit the road, a private car suddenly rushed ahead. He had no time to evade, only able to steer sharply, fortunately causing only a scrape between the cars and no major harm.
