You Think I Won't Talk?-Chapter 678
"No! The ninth is wrong!"
"Yes! Very wrong! Sniff!"
"Bad Ninth! Hic! Cruel words you have said!"
"Oh, lords... Alright... I apologise... however, something is wrong. My friend whom you love is in pain whenever she visits. Do you know why that is?"
"Oh..." — Halting their cries, they calmed down.
"In pain?"
"Yes."
"Oh... teehehe~ it must be because of us~ humans are weak to our love, the ninth is special for she is the chosen but it is alright—"
"If you know they are weak then get away from Jasmine!! Goodness! So you have known this all along and kept pestering her!?!?!?"
"Aw~ but... we love the princess..."
"Yes, but you are hurting her!"
Although, I managed to make them stay away from her, the fairies pouted and would let me know what they were hiding so adamantly. Keeping their secret, they would still complain about me being mean... but at least Jasmine did have a better stay after that.
"How interesting... so I am liked by fairies... what a hazardous compliment to attain..."
"Haha... yes... I apologise for this. Have I noticed earlier, your visits would not have been as difficult, Jasmine."
"It is alright. There are things we cannot know from the beginning."
"T-That’s right! Marianne, since when can you s-see and talk to fairies? Being the Ninth must be quite a-adventurous!"
Although I could tell it was from the innocence of an eleven-year-old child I did believe that if not for the consequences of having these powers, it would indeed be quite an awesome power to flaunt.
I did share some of the story behind it but our conversation about my powers was put to an end thanks to Jasmine’s aid and with that, it was not only they who learnt something interesting today.
"So... ahem... Marianne, dear." — Jasmine with slight blush said while calling me by my name. — "Were you able to appreciate the first red moon of Fehuh last night?"
"... oh, no, I did not..." — I answered aware that there was something like that yet I did not remember well enough to pay attention to it last night.
"Eh~ you did not see it? Even though you have a balcony in your chambers, Marianne?"
"Is it that special an event?"
"?... Marianne, dear, do you not know that from the Palace, as it is where Fenrir used to wander most, that the redness is best seen? At other places far from Dahlka it does not appear as astonishing yet from here you will be able to see it turn redder throughout the nine days Fehuh lasts."
"That’s right! We wanted to ask if you saw it from your balcony, Marianne. We h-have been told that from your chambers as they are special they might have a more special view yet since it is solely for the chosen to inhabit we have never been able to see it f-f-for ourselves."
"Hmm... I guess I will pay attention to it tonight."
"Yes! Today is the 28th so you still have seven nights to compare."
"! Gasp! Marianne, may I go tonight and take a look from your chambers?" — Dioclecià asked, making me agree immediately with the brightness of his smile. — "Of course you can."
The princes made me forget momentarily about the concerns. There were still many things I did not fully understand nor know about this realm although I am also part of it.
Fehuh occurred every year in the last nine days of Syvusk. I knew it was special for the Royal Family had bonds with Fenrir’s deity, yet as one who was not born in the royal family, Fehuh was only a period of time in which the moon shone more with a slightly different shade.
At this point, dealing with matters like these was the most troubled I had become these days. Most of Syvusk was gone by now and little to no clue or inclination to start this expected war has been shown or found.
’I am growing anxious with how peaceful this Palace has become.’
Knowing that many of the enemy were around made it worse and more weird. Theressa has also been waiting for orders to come yet nothing has arrived... we even believe she might have been found out as a double spy... which the fact of her still being alive and unharmed was more unsettling somehow.
She was also invited to my chambers that night to watch the shade of the moon and although I thought it was an exaggeration from the princes... even after they left I still have a small desire to go outside to keep on watching it directly.
’It’s red... completely red..... As if Zel’s red bit of his eyes were in the sky...’ — I thought peeking at it from the glass door with Khibi on my head. She was just as astonished by the hue that her chirps seemed longer.
My daze only ended when the arms of the man I was waiting for wrapped around me, making Khibi’s feathers escape. — "Are you looking at Fehuh’s moon, my love?"
"! You scared me... Yes... The hue looks like the red hints in your eyes... You could have told me it was this pretty from the palace..."
"That is true... I did not think much of it as I see it every year, yet I was a fool for not telling you. I should have known you would like it, Anne."
"~ you are not a fool~ but yes, you should have told me."
"... I will reflect on my lack, haha... love..."
"Yes, love?"
"This moon is no good for me, however." — He then said, turning me around so I could face him in this tight hug. — "I become fretful during these days. It is said it is because of Fenrir’s strength." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
"Oh... then let’s not look at it." — Moving in his arms I managed to close the curtain. Yet his grasp did not let go and his seductive eyes continued to look deeply into mine. Dangerously... as if already doing as warned.
"... it doesn’t matter, even if I do not see it I remain fretful..." — Burying his nose in my nape, I felt what he meant. Sighing as he focused on feeling me up. — "It is difficult, Anne... love..."
I enjoyed the caresses and understood why the night before he was much more silent while he visited me.
He was being cautious yesterday... but today it did not seem that way.
*Smooch... smooch... lick...*
He was being more active than usual tonight.
