WorldCrafter - Building My Underground Kingdom-Chapter 279: The Beginning of The End
Baal’s gaze flickered.
He pulled back and raised his other hand.
Chain appeared made from his own authority.
They erupted from his palm and wrapped around the space where Eve stood.
CLACK! CLACK! CLACK!!!
The chains tightened.
A ripple spread, and Eve’s body snapped into view inside the bindings for a heartbeat.
Baal did not waste it.
He slammed his elbow down.
BAM!!!
The hit landed.
Eve’s shoulder dipped.
A strand of silver hair fell out of place.
For the first time, her smile thinned.
Then she lifted one finger and tapped the chain.
TINK.
The chains cracked.
The cracks spread like spiderwebs, then the whole binding turned into dark dust and vanished.
Baal’s eyes narrowed.
Eve’s finger pointed at him.
The law of chaos moved.
Ben felt his skin tighten. It was not fear.
It was the world reacting to something it could not understand.
Baal’s chest suddenly split open.
It was simply cut, like the space inside his body was told to separate.
It turned into mist and got pulled backward, swallowed by the black thread.
Baal’s face did not change.
Dark fog poured out from him and filled the cut, forcing his body back into one piece.
He stepped forward, boots scraping the air as if he was walking on an invisible floor.
Eve’s eyes glinted.
"How stubborn. Even your authority is weaker than before."
Baal answered with a punch.
The air exploded.
BOOOOOOM!!!
A ring of darkness and silver light spread outward and crushed the clouds above the capital.
The shockwave made every window in the inner district shatter at once.
Elvira’s breath caught.
Ben’s wings tightened.
Arthur’s grip on Excalibur turned rigid.
They could not even see the full exchange.
Eve slid back half a step.
Her heel touched nothing.
Baal chased her.
His body turned into fog, then into flesh again.
He appeared above her and drove both hands down.
Eve raised her palm.
A circle made from law of chaos appeared.
Baal’s hands hit the circle.
CLANG!!!
The space between them shattered like glass.
A line spread across the sky.
For a breath, Ben saw beyond it.
Endless black.
Then it snapped shut.
Baal landed on nothing and pushed again.
Eve’s palm stayed up.
Her arm did not eve tremble.
"Is this our best?"
Baal’s snorted. "Even if must sacrifice my life I will stop you today."
Eve moved her other hand.
The black thread in the air multiplied.
It turned into ten than connected with each other into a web.
The web spread behind Baal without touching him, then snapped forward.
Ben’s eyes widened.
It feel like the web has captured the spae around it.
Baal froze for a fraction.
The web closed.
Dark lines wrapped around Baal’s limbs and chest, sinking into him like hooks.
Eve stepped closer, her finger raised.
"Stay," she said.
The word hit like a command from the sky.
Baal’s knees bent slightly.
Then Baal’s eyes turned black.
The web inside him started to melt.
He force himself to move, dragging the web with him.
All across the city, broken rune lines lit up for a breath with dark light.
Ben felt it and went still.
Eve’s smile returned, colder.
"So you’ll gamble," she said.
Baal’s voice was rough.
"I have no choice."
The rune exploded with dark light, each one shoot toward the air.
Space begin to distort.
The dark web Eve made start to tremble.
Eve lips curled into a smile, "Than get busy with whatever you’re dong."
"Dammit!" Baal cursed.
He plan to enhance his power by utilizing the rune on the capital.
As the runes had already been soaked by the Primordial Flame, Baal could use them as a bridge to open a gate to another plane.
Through it, he could absorb that plane’s power and call for reinforcements.
There were still many strong beings on other planes, and with Eve’s plan, no plane would survive.
She would create a complete new reality based on her own rules.
Unfortunately, Eve chose to ignore him and went straight for her target.
BAM!!!
Eve appeared in front of Ben. Her hand turned like a spear and shot toward his chest.
CLANG!!
Arthur moved fast and blocked the strike.
"Thanks for delivering it to me," Eve said with a smile.
She grasped the sword.
CRACK!
The sword began to crack as Eve increased the pressure.
Arthur’s face turned ugly. He tried to pull it back, but it wouldn’t budge.
Ben’s eyes widened. ’This isn’t just a difference in power. This is hopeless.’
It was clear now.
The being in front of him was on another level entirely.
If he used game levels, he was level 10, and this absurd woman was level 100.
Even if he absorbed all the daemons and gained another power-up, he would still be far below her.
She’s a multiverse level menace
Without further thought, Ben grabbed Elvira’s hand.
"We need to run now!"
He pulled her hard without even looking back.
’So you choose to run away. That’s not a bad option. But there’s no place safe from her, Ben.’
Apophis spoke inside his mind.
Elvira didn’t fight him. She let herself get pulled away.
Arthur looked at Ben. ’Good. You should escape.’
At first, Arthur also thought that if they combined their power, they might have hope.
Now he realized it was pointless.
Unfortunately, Arthur didn’t have the choice to run.
BAM!
He drove his knee toward Eve’s stomach.
But despite the strength, it didn’t even reach her.
It stopped inches from her skin, like an invisible wall held it back.
Baal didn’t hesitate.
He detonated the runes.
He canceled the absorption and appeared at Eve’s side.
"You should also run!" Baal shouted to Arthur as he threw another punch.
BOOM!!!
The punch landed, but the impact didn’t hit.
The air warped around Eve’s body, and the shockwave spread outward in a perfect ring.
Tiles, dust, and broken stone lifted off the ground like they were weightless.
Eve looked at Baal the way a person looked at an insect that kept crawling back.
"You’ve waste my time enough," she said softly.
