While I Was Giving Love Advice to My Best Friend, the School's Most Beautiful Girl Somehow Became the Closest Person to Me-Chapter 7Volume 1 .2 - The Revival of Love Consultations
The Revival of Love Consultations
“Sigh… I understand. Your feelings for Shizuku seem genuine. I don’t mind helping you two get along.”
“Really?”
“It’s not for me to decide, but Shizuku. If Shizuku says she dislikes your approach, that’s the end of it. I will protect my best friend no matter what. So it’s up to you.”
“Thank you.”
“Then I guess my role here is done.”
“Ha?”
I was startled by Asahina-san’s sharp voice.
“From now on, Reo and Asahina-san should deal directly with each other to approach Otsuki-san. I don’t see any any point in me getting in the way.”
“Hey, Kogure-kun.”
Asahina-san’s eyes somehow don’t seem to be smiling. Did I say something strange?
“That won’t do. Whenever Hirasawa-kun has a meeting with me, Kogure-kun must accompany him. That’s the only condition.”
” What? Doesn’t that defeat the purpose?”
“There’s a reason.”
“What’s the reason?”
“I can’t say that.”
Asahina-san turned away with a flushed face. She’s cute, but I don’t get it why.
“Ryouma, I also feel like I might end up arguing with Asahina if it’s just the two of us, so I’d appreciate it if you’d stay with us.”
“Yeah, that’s right! That’s the reason. It’s not good to fight every time.”
“I think you have a completely different reason. Sigh, alright, I understand. Let’s all work together and do our best.”
“…I want to know more about you too. Don’t just disappear on me now.”
Asahina-san’s murmurs were, of course, not meant to be heard.
I stopped worrying about her intentions.

A few days after Asahina-san and Reo joined forces, they did some planning, and Reo’s grand romance operation commenced.
Now that Asahina-san had begun to help out in earnest, the men and women were coordinating well.
First off, we decided to make use of Otsuki-san’s daily gardening behind the school building with the Gardening Club.
In the morning, I struck up a conversation with Otsuki-san as usual. After our talk got going, Asahina-san joined in, and then the plan was for Reo to use me as bait to enter the conversation, and the four of us would get along.
Asahina-san was the one who proposed this strategy, but…
“Was there any point in you coming here, Asahina-san?”
“Of course there was.”
“We could skip Asahina-san in this scene without any issues.”
“No. I’m curious about what you and Shizuku would talk about alone.”
“Huh?”
While whispering with Asahina-san, Otsuki-san suddenly leaned in close to us.
“Lately, Alisa and Kogure-kun seem to be getting along well. Even if it was with Kogure-kun’s sister, maybe it’s because you went out together that things have changed?”
“Eh~ There’s no way that’s true, Shizuku.”
“Right, there’s absolutely nothing like that.”
I felt a pinch on my thigh.
“Ow!”
“Why would you say something like that?”
“Hey, forget about us for now. Look, Reo’s having trouble and can’t join in!”
I conveyed our strategy to Asahina-san with a serious face despite feeling a bit scared.
It would be pointless if the conversation just revolved around us. The goal was to get Reo and Otsuki-san talking.
I sent a message to Reo on my smartphone, and soon enough, the prepared Reo arrived.
“O-Oh, Ryouma, you were here?”
“Good morning, Reo.”
“Hmph, Hirasawa-kun. Sorry, but could you not come any closer? You yelled at me in the cafeteria last time. I haven’t forgiven you yet.”
As expected of Asahina-san, she entered the conversation smoothly. But it felt like she was genuinely complaining to Reo.
Reo hesitated for a moment, then bowed deeply.
“I’m sorry for that.”
“…Apologize to Shizuku too. You scared her.”
“Alisa! I’m fine.”
“No, I’m sorry. I also did something bad to you, Otsuki… I’m really sorry.”
“Ah… okay.”
Otsuki-san accepted the apology, albeit with some confusion. It went better than I thought.
Maybe it was good that Asahina-san complained to Reo. Could she have anticipated this?
I whispered to Asahina-san so that only she could hear.
“So you came here for this, Asahina-san. Originally, the plan was for Reo to apologize directly to Otsuki-san, but with you involved, we can push the relationship a bit more forcefully.”
“Ah? I hadn’t thought that far.”
“Asahina-san, if you arrogantly demand pancakes as a punishment, Reo will have no choice but to comply. That creates a point of contact. Now, Asahina-san, please tell Reo to do that in your usual haughty way.”
“Kogure-kun, you thought of me like that? I’m a little hurt…”
“You told me to walk five meters away from you when we first met, remember?”
“Grrr.”
Now that I think about it, Asahina-san has been actively engaging in conversation with me lately.
I feel like I’ve been talking with Asahina-san about twice as much as before.
“Then, Hirasawa-kun, you must treat Shizuku and me to crepes as a punishment. That will square things away.”
“Ah, wait a minute, Alisa. That’s going a bit too far!”
“No, I don’t mind. I think what I did was rather childish too…”
“But…”
“Otsuki-san, could you please let Reo treat you? Reo is the type to properly take care of these things. It’ll be a clean way to finish this. Please?”
“Alright, but you don’t need to worry about it so much.”
“Then, let’s meet after club activities are over this afternoon.”
Great, that went well.
Now, it’s confirmed that today, Reo will be walking home with Otsuki-san.
From the crepe shop to while we’re eating… there should be plenty of opportunities to talk.
Do your best, Reo. I’ll be heading home alone.
“Kogure-kun, you’ll join us after school too, right?”
“I think I’m not needed for this.”
“You said you’d always accompany him when I’m involved, didn’t you?”
“This is… between Reo and Otsuki-san, and you don’t have to go either, Asahina-san.”
“No way, I want to eat crepes.”
“Is that your real motive…”
“Besides, I’ll decide here whether I approve of Hirasawa Reo or not. Whether he can be a plus for Shizuku.”

“He will be. Reo is my best friend after all.”
To put it simply, the ‘Crepes Operation’ was a success.
Setting aside the fact that Asahina-san ordered a huge crepe that inflicted serious damage on Reo’s wallet, Asahina-san and I managed to ensure that Reo and Otsuki-san had plenty of time to talk.
By the time we finished eating the crepes, Otsuki-san was showing a smile thanks to her conversation with Reo.
From an outsider’s perspective, they seemed to have good chemistry, and since Asahina-san didn’t say anything… it was a green light to proceed with Reo and Otsuki-san’s romance plan in earnest.
