When His Nauseous Sweetheart Frowns, the Tycoon's Family Takes Turns Pampering Her-Chapter 122: A Match Made in Heaven
The proprietress, dressed in a champagne-gold top and a wine-red, gold-trimmed pleated skirt, brightened up when a man and a woman walked into her shop.
’What a match made in heaven.’
The physical difference between them, the stark contrast in their auras—they were the perfect example of a big bad wolf and a little white rabbit.
’It’s a real treat for my aesthetic-loving eyes. A person should fill their life with beautiful, eye-pleasing things.’
Cradling a tabby cat, the proprietress approached them. "Feel free to look around," she said. "Everything’s made with raw materials gathered from the mountain. You can also make your own."
Seeing them up close, the proprietress grew even more delighted.
’This young lady’s skin is just too good. It’s so fair and clear, you can’t even see a single pore.’
’What kind of skincare products does she use?’
"Okay." Luna Axton’s eyes were fixed on the merchandise, and she responded sweetly to the proprietress’s introduction.
The products in the shop were exquisite, clearly the work of someone who loved life.
Luna Axton noticed the fragrance growing stronger. It was indeed the same scent she had smelled on the mountain.
It had the fresh fragrance of pine trees and the crispness of the cool air. A deep breath was enough to make her feel completely refreshed.
The same feeling of relaxation she’d felt upon first arriving, that sensation of breathing all the way to the bottom of her lungs, returned.
’I want to bring this feeling back to Valoria.’
"Is this soap?" Luna Axton asked, pointing at an item without picking it up.
"Yes, they’re all made from the resin secreted by the pine trees you saw on the mountain. I collect it and make things like soap and perfume."
The proprietress noticed the mud on both their shoes and guessed they were also tourists who had just come down from the mountain.
"I’d like to make two bars of soap, and I’ll also take a bottle of this pine-scented perfume," Luna Axton said, looking at Blaze Fairchild.
"Okay." He would, of course, support her if she found something she enjoyed doing. Besides, back at the mountain lodge, she would just be reading and getting bored.
The proprietress lowered her head and bit her lip. ’Swoon! I’m totally shipping them.’
’Aww... the big bad wolf’s tenderness really is reserved exclusively for his little white rabbit.’
But a shopkeeper was a shopkeeper, and making money was also important. She composed herself and adopted a businesslike demeanor.
"If you want to make the soap yourself, it takes about thirty days to cure. We can only mail it to our customers."
Luna Axton appreciated this way of doing business, where everything was explained upfront. "I’m fine with that."
Blaze Fairchild paid for the items and the shipping fee. Seeing that she had already started making the soap under the proprietress’s guidance, he offered to go buy her something to drink.
The water in their thermos was already gone. While Luna was busy with her craft and taking a break, it was the perfect time for him to buy more.
While Luna Axton was working, the proprietress’s little cat kept rubbing against her ankles, leaving some of its tabby fur on her black pants.
The proprietress started making small talk. "Your husband is so gentle with you. Are you newlyweds?"
"We’ve been married for a while." She was still a bit guarded around strangers.
"I can tell. You two will be happy together for the rest of your lives. It’s a wonderful match."
Luna Axton didn’t reply. ’I don’t know if it’s a wonderful match,’ she thought, ’but he’s definitely the best partner for Project Lucky.’
Seeing her silence, the shopkeeper emphasized, "I’m a very good judge of character."
Luna Axton’s eyes crinkled into a smile. "Thank you for the kind words. I hope we can have a smooth and peaceful life."
From this, the shopkeeper could tell she didn’t want to discuss her relationship further, so she switched to the topic of skincare, which she was curious about.
As they were both women, there was always an endless stream of things to say when it came to maintenance and beauty.
By the time Blaze Fairchild returned with lemonade, her two bars of soap were in their final stages.
After the proprietress marked the soap for her and she left her address, Luna Axton finally left with the bottle of perfume.
"Why the sudden interest in bar soap?" Blaze Fairchild asked casually.
Luna Axton’s beautiful eyes darted away. She suddenly remembered last night’s hand soap—the peach-scented one provided by the hotel.
’If I say it’s for washing my hands, will Blaze’s mind jump to something dirty again?’
She changed her story. "I’ll just put them at home to enjoy the scent. That way, I can remember how wonderful this trip was."
Blaze Fairchild raised an eyebrow, not letting it go. "Didn’t you buy perfume for that?"
Luna Axton shot him a glare and then fell silent.
Seeing her coy pout, Blaze Fairchild was delighted. ’She’s getting more and more beautiful.’
The two of them strolled through the ancient town, though there weren’t actually that many shops.
Seeing that it was about time, they prepared to head back the way they came.
Unlike the non-stop hike on the way there, they were now familiar with the path back. They walked and played, taking lots of pictures along the way.
They had just dropped their bags back at the hotel when a staff member delivered the extra meal Blaze Fairchild had ordered on the way.
Luna was pregnant, and she needed extra meals when she was very active.
After eating, Luna Axton went to take a shower, preparing for a good night’s sleep.
"We’re going back tomorrow. I can’t miss this evening’s sunset or tomorrow morning’s sunrise."
She said this to Blaze Fairchild, who was behind her, just before bed.
"What are you trying to tell me?" Blaze Fairchild’s mischievous hands didn’t stop as he played dumb.
"I want to get a good night’s sleep."
Blaze Fairchild squeezed her leg, helping to relieve the fatigue from their long walk that morning. He promised,
"I won’t disturb you. At most, I’ll just hold you and give you a couple of kisses."
Blaze Fairchild was true to his word. Luna Axton slept very well that night.
They also watched the next day’s sunrise together.
Bundled up warmly, they sat nestled together on the bed, facing the other side of the mountain.
Watching the sun emerge bit by bit from the horizon felt like a replay of yesterday’s sunset.
Just rising in the east instead of setting in the west—only the direction was different.
As the red sun came into full view, Luna Axton raised her camera and moved closer to Blaze Fairchild. "Let’s take a picture together."
CLICK, CLICK...
With a few clicks of the shutter, Luna Axton took a flurry of pictures.
’My photography skills are terrible, but with quantity over quality, there’s bound to be one or two usable shots, right? It’s just a matter of probability.’
"You’ve taken a lot of pictures these past two days." Blaze Fairchild had seen it all—she hadn’t even spared the legs of the bed in their room. "Do you like it here that much?"
"Mhm, I like the unique scent of the mountains." Her attention was still on the camera as she answered casually. "And I also want to show them to Lucky in the future."
A good idea suddenly popped into Luna Axton’s mind. "Can I use your phone number to register a short-video account and save all the photos and videos from this trip on it?"
Blaze Fairchild: "The phone’s charging in the room. There’s no password. Do it yourself."
With Blaze Fairchild’s approval, Luna Axton now had something to keep her busy on the way back.
Unwittingly, in a short journey of just over forty hours, she had taken more than a thousand photos and several videos.
She would be busy for a while.
The end of the vacation also meant she had to return to Concordia Medical Hall to continue her studies.
She would have to face Russell Frost and the entire Frost Family.
Those people...
Luna Axton’s feelings were complicated.
But she would try her best to act as if nothing had happened.
She would interact with them as before, in her capacity as Luna Axton, the medical student, and Blaze Fairchild’s wife.
