When His Nauseous Sweetheart Frowns, the Tycoon's Family Takes Turns Pampering Her-Chapter 102: This Is the Real Mrs. Fairchild
One of the older nurses turned to look at the two of them.
Her gaze fell on Luna Axton, who was in Blaze Fairchild’s arms.
The nurse was confused. ’Who is Mr. Fairchild holding? And who was that lady who just presented the banner?’
Keeping a neutral expression, she said, "If there’s nothing else, you’re free to go home."
"My grandfather’s medicine." Blaze Fairchild held out his hand.
The doctor, who was fiddling with the threads at the bottom of the banner, didn’t even turn his head. "After Mrs. Fairchild took a photo with me, she took the discharge medication."
Blaze Fairchild’s eyes narrowed, a dangerous aura emanating from him. "This is Mrs. Fairchild."
Luna Axton suppressed the urge to smile and snuck a glance at Blaze Fairchild.
The unpleasantness from before vanished at his words, ’This is Mrs. Fairchild.’ 𝓯𝙧𝙚𝒆𝙬𝙚𝒃𝙣𝙤𝒗𝓮𝓵.𝙘𝙤𝙢
Hearing this, the doctor turned his head.
When he got a clear look at the person before him, he swayed and nearly fell off his chair.
’Isn’t the person Mr. Fairchild is holding the medical student who was all the talk in the medical community?’
’Her face is so beautiful, I only remembered her face and her prestigious university, but I’ve completely forgotten her name.’
A nurse helped the doctor off the stool. Once steady, the doctor said:
"The young lady just now said she was Julian Fairchild’s family. I assumed she was your wife, so I gave the medicine directly to her."
Blaze Fairchild said coldly, "My grandfather and I made it very clear on all patient communication forms. Any of his treatment plans or medications must go through me, Blaze Fairchild. I am the only one who can make those decisions."
The doctor clearly hadn’t realized the severity of the situation. He laughed heartily. "No problem. I’ll just go get the medicine back."
Blaze Fairchild’s brow furrowed even tighter, and his face instantly darkened.
The Lunar New Year was approaching, and Luna Axton didn’t want Blaze Fairchild to lose his temper over something like this.
She tugged on the pocket of Blaze Fairchild’s trench coat and said in a calm tone, "Doctor, could you please give me a list of the medications my grandfather is taking?"
"Didn’t we already prescribe the discharge medication? What do you need a list for? Just follow the labels the pharmacy put on them."
The doctor was getting agitated now. ’Just a medical student, and she dares to tell me what to do.’
"Because we are not familiar with that woman. In fact, she has no connection to the Fairchild Family at all," Luna Axton said bluntly. "We don’t dare give Grandpa the medication she took."
The doctor and the two nurses exchanged glances. His voice suddenly rose as he shot back at Luna Axton,
"She took them and went right back to the patient’s room! What could she have done to the medicine?"
Luna Axton’s cool gaze fell on the silk banner, and she understood everything.
’He just received a banner for his service, only to be told he did something wrong.’
’A slap in the face like that... no one could accept it.’
She offered a smile that didn’t reach her eyes. "I understand. Thank you for your hard work these past few days."
With that, Luna Axton pulled Blaze Fairchild away.
From behind them came the doctor’s indifferent voice, "Rich people are so melodramatic. It’s not like the medicine is inedible."
Both Luna Axton and Blaze Fairchild stopped in their tracks. Blaze Fairchild was about to turn back and argue.
But Luna Axton reacted first, taking his large hand and continuing to walk forward.
A smile touched Blaze Fairchild’s lips, his gaze falling on the hand Luna Axton was holding.
’Look how worried Luna is. It’s not like I can fire that doctor on the spot.’
When they reached a secluded spot, Luna Axton finally spoke. "About the medicine, I’ll find a nurse and ask her privately in a bit."
The two nurses present earlier hadn’t said a word. They were clearly more experienced than the doctor and better understood the uncertainty of medication leaving a guardian’s custody.
If she avoided the doctor and asked a nurse, the nurse would be willing to help her.
Blaze Fairchild’s gaze shifted from Luna’s indignant eyes to her soft, pink lips.
A faint, almost imperceptible smile played on his lips as his eyes remained fixed on Luna.
He loved seeing Luna like this—speaking up for him, worrying about him, looking out for him.
Luna Axton was in the middle of saying she didn’t want to see Yvonne Rhodes put Grandpa in a difficult position when Blaze Fairchild’s lips suddenly descended on hers.
Out of the corner of her eye, she noticed Caleb turn his body away, but it was obvious he had still seen Blaze Fairchild kiss her.
’How am I ever going to face Caleb again!’
Being intimate in front of an outsider put a huge psychological burden on her.
Luna pushed against his chest, refusing his kiss.
Blaze Fairchild knew she was shy, so he kept it brief before releasing her lips.
She frowned, a little annoyed, and her tone was sharp. "Did you hear what I was just saying?"
"What?" Blaze Fairchild asked, his eyes crinkling with a smile.
"I said, Yvonne Rhodes coming here was most likely your aunt’s idea. She’s Grandpa’s daughter, and no matter how strained their relationship is, Grandpa will surely be happy that she came to see him while he’s sick. If I show up suddenly, it’ll make him uncomfortable. So I won’t go in. Caleb and I will go to the pharmacy to sort out the medication, then we’ll head home and wait for you."
Under Blaze Fairchild’s intense gaze, Luna Axton rushed to finish everything in one breath, afraid he wasn’t listening carefully again.
But instead, he just asked her, "Aren’t you tired after saying all that?"
Luna Axton felt like she’d punched a wad of cotton—completely ineffectual.
"Alright, never mind anyone else. You’re here to pick up Grandpa, and he’ll definitely be thrilled to see you," Blaze Fairchild said, taking both her hands to coax her.
When Luna didn’t say anything, he leaned down again, bringing his face close to hers.
Luna Axton instinctively covered her lips and backed away, thinking Blaze Fairchild was going to kiss her again.
Her defensive gesture made Blaze Fairchild burst out laughing.
He flashed a perfect, white smile and coaxed, "Let’s go get Grandpa, okay? Hmm?"
She didn’t know when her face had started to burn, but now, enveloped in Blaze Fairchild’s deep, magnetic voice, she felt waves of heat spreading across her cheeks and down to the back of her ears.
She pressed her lips together. "Okay."
"Good girl." Blaze Fairchild released one of her hands but kept the other held tightly in his palm. "You didn’t come yesterday. I was bored all day."
"Luckily, I had to decorate Lucky’s room, so I ordered a bunch of stuff online. I’ll show you when we get home."
"Mm," Luna Axton murmured. She suddenly felt petty. Even Blaze Fairchild could tell she was suspicious about whether Yvonne Rhodes had visited the hospital yesterday.
His offer to show her his online shopping cart was just his way of telling her that he had been the only one keeping watch here yesterday.
"Also, I went back last night hoping to talk with you for a bit, but you were sleeping in Mom’s room. I came up empty."
’Who knew he’d suddenly come back?’
Because of her baseless suspicions, her tone softened in front of Blaze Fairchild. "I’ll be more mindful in the future."
Blaze Fairchild said, "You can sleep wherever you want."
In the time it took them to talk, they had reached the door to Julian Fairchild’s hospital room.
Yvonne Rhodes was speaking. "Grandpa, this is the medicine the doctor prescribed for you. You have to remember to take it after you go home."
"If Ian is too busy and Luna doesn’t have time, you can call me, and I’ll tell you how to take it."
She said it as if Grandpa Fairchild had no one at home to care for or worry about him.
"Yvonne, your uncle and Rosalind are already divorced. That makes you and me strangers. It would be best if you didn’t just show up in front of us anymore."
Although Julian Fairchild spoke politely, his intention to cut ties was very clear.
But some people just don’t get the hint.
"How could that be? My aunt raised me for so many years. It’s my duty to fulfill her filial piety for her and serve you in her place. I’m very happy to be able to serve you, Grandpa."
