Wedding Night: My Disabled Husband Made Me Cry-Chapter 10: Miss Quinn is Very Forward
Vivian Quinn steeled herself and planted a quick kiss on his thin lips. "There, is that good enough for you?"
Jett Sterling nodded in satisfaction. "Not bad. Since you put it that way, Miss Quinn, let’s try a different approach."
Before Vivian Quinn could understand what he meant, Jett Sterling took her hand, grabbed the remote, and raised the bid to five hundred million.
"You’re going back on your word!" Vivian Quinn fumed.
"Patience."
Austin Grant shot to his feet, his chest heaving. His mind was so consumed by rage that he couldn’t think clearly. He raised the bid again: six hundred million!
Jett Sterling immediately raised it to seven hundred million!
Before anyone could even react, Austin Grant pushed it straight to eight hundred million!
Jett Sterling’s lips curled. He tossed the remote aside. "It’s his."
Vivian Quinn breathed a sigh of relief and quickly tossed the remote far away, afraid he might have a change of heart and raise the bid again.
The auctioneer’s gavel fell. Sold for eight hundred million!
Only then did Austin Grant feel a bit of satisfaction. He slowly sat back down, turning to Rachel Quinn with an unconcealable look of triumph. "Rachel, are you happy?"
Rachel Quinn threw her arms around him, kissing him again and again. "Austin, you’re the best!" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
As the auction neared its end, Vivian Quinn said, "Let’s go."
"No rush." Jett Sterling calmly sipped his tea. "The best part isn’t over yet."
"What best part?"
"Just you wait."
Vivian Quinn sat quietly. A moment later, she saw Austin Grant leading Rachel Quinn downstairs to pay.
The downstairs area was filled with socialites, all of whom recognized Austin Grant and rose to greet him.
"Master Grant, what a power move! Spending a fortune on that sapphire necklace."
"Miss Quinn is certainly a lucky woman."
Rachel Quinn’s face was beaming. "Thank you, everyone. Austin and I will be holding our engagement party at The Platinum Hall at the beginning of next month. We welcome you all to come and witness our love."
"We’ll be there, absolutely."
The moment the flatterers turned away, they couldn’t help but sneer. "Has Austin Grant lost his mind today? Paying eight hundred million for a necklace worth two hundred million at most. It’s hilarious."
"I used to think he was a pretty sharp guy, but today he’s acting like some rich idiot. I wonder how his old man, Ethan Grant, will react when he finds out."
"I heard someone already snitched to Ethan Grant. They say Chairman Grant is furious."
"He was clearly goaded into a trap and doesn’t even realize it. The man’s brain isn’t working today..."
Austin Grant and Rachel Quinn overheard their whispers, and the color drained from their faces.
Austin Grant had never suffered such humiliation. He flung Rachel Quinn’s hand away and strode off.
It all clicked for Vivian Quinn. "Jett Sterling, that was brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! You made him waste an extra six hundred million, turning him into a complete laughingstock!"
Jett Sterling smirked. "Feeling better now?"
"I do feel better, but you also spent so much money bidding against him just to set the stage. I still don’t think it was worth it."
Jett Sterling seemed quite surprised. "You figured that out?"
"Of course. Without you laying the groundwork, he never would have lost control. Austin Grant isn’t the type to lose his head so easily."
’Thinking back, Jett Sterling had been setting this trap for Austin Grant from the very beginning.’
’This man was unfathomable.’
Jett Sterling sneered. "It seems you have a rather high opinion of your ex-fiancé."
Vivian Quinn: "..." ’Why did that sound so... jealous?’
"Ahem." Vivian Quinn cleared her throat and said seriously, "Jett Sterling, thank you for helping me get even."
Jett Sterling gently ruffled her hair. "As long as you’re happy."
’Vivian Quinn froze. Was it her imagination, or was there a trace of doting affection in Jett Sterling’s eyes?’
Suddenly, a commotion erupted outside the door, followed by Austin Grant’s voice. "Get out of my way, or make the people inside get out here!"
Vivian Quinn panicked.
"Don’t be afraid." Jett Sterling squeezed her hand. "There are bodyguards outside."
Outside the door, two bodyguards blocked Austin Grant. "Stop. You can’t go in, and our sir won’t be coming out. We advise you to get lost, now!"
Austin Grant’s face was livid. "You dare to stop me? Do you know who I am?"
"Even if you were God Almighty, you wouldn’t be allowed in."
Austin Grant actually laughed. "What a joke. In Aethelgard, there’s no place Austin Grant can’t enter. Get out of my way!"
The two bodyguards simply grabbed Austin Grant, dragged him to Suite Six, and threw him inside.
"What are you doing!" Rachel Quinn, who had finally caught up, rushed forward and pushed at the bodyguards. "Don’t you dare touch my Austin!"
The bodyguards pushed her in as well and shut the door.
Only then did Jett Sterling speak. "Let’s go."
"Okay."
Vivian Quinn put on her mask, and the two of them went straight to the elevator and down to the parking garage.
The driver was about to help Jett Sterling into the car, but the man gave him a subtle glance.
The driver immediately understood. "Miss Quinn," he said quickly, "could you please help Master Sterling? I’ll take care of the wheelchair."
Vivian Quinn didn’t refuse. "Alright."
Jett Sterling was in a good mood. He placed his hands on her shoulders for support, but the next second, he lost his balance and nearly fell.
Vivian Quinn instinctively threw her arms around him to catch him, her lips brushing against his forehead.
A deep, amused voice sounded by her ear. "You’re being very forward, Miss Quinn."
Vivian Quinn: "..."!!!
"I didn’t do it on purpose!"
"That’s not important."
"No, it’s very important!"
The smile on the man’s face only deepened.
’Vivian Quinn was dazed for a moment. She had to admit, he was breathtaking when he smiled—like a devilish charmer capable of bewitching the world!’
Just as Jett Sterling was about to speak, he caught sight of a camera lens pointed at them from a distance.
The man’s gaze darkened, and he suddenly stole a kiss from the corner of her lips.
Vivian Quinn slowly came to her senses. "...What are you doing?"
"Thanking you for catching me just now."
"You really don’t have to thank me."
"I must."
Vivian Quinn’s face flushed red again. "Are... are we getting in the car?"
"We are."
They both got into the car, and the driver quickly pulled out of the underground parking garage.
...
Vivian Quinn was in a good mood, but she never liked being indebted to anyone. So, the first thing she did after returning to the villa was take out a pen and paper, write an IOU, and then knock on the study door.
"Come in." A low, cold voice came from inside.
’Vivian Quinn paused. Was Jett Sterling normally this cold?’
’When he was with her, he acted like he hadn’t seen a woman in a hundred years!’
Vivian Quinn opened the door and went inside, seeing the man sitting behind his desk, looking through some documents.
"Jett Sterling, are you busy?"
"Not busy." The man looked up at her. "Did you need something?"
"Yes." Vivian Quinn placed the IOU in front of him. "You spent all that money at the auction today to help me get back at him, and I’m very grateful. But no matter what, I can’t let you be out of pocket for it."
"I’d like you to sell the auction items. I’ll cover any losses. I left the amount on this IOU blank; you can fill it in later. I will pay you back."
As soon as the words left her mouth, the man’s handsome face darkened, and the temperature in the study seemed to drop by several degrees.
Jett Sterling grabbed her by the wrist. With a sharp tug, Vivian Quinn lost her balance and fell right into his arms...
