Wedding Night: My Disabled Husband Made Me Cry-Chapter 11: Don’t Even Think of Leaving Me
They had been in close contact several times today, but Vivian Quinn could clearly feel that at this moment, Jett Sterling was angry. Furious.
Puzzled, she looked up and met his deep, ice-cold eyes.
"Are you that eager to draw such a clear line between us?" Jett Sterling’s voice was low and cold, utterly chilling. "Vivian Quinn, do you even have a heart?"
Vivian Quinn was a little stunned. "Wait... what did I do wrong?"
The man’s thin lips pressed into a straight line, his handsome face so dark it looked like it was about to storm. "You tell me what you did wrong."
"I’m asking because I don’t know!" Vivian Quinn was both baffled and frustrated. "Jett Sterling, let me go! You’re hurting me!"
"Why should I let you go!" Not only did the man refuse to let go, he gripped her even tighter. "Vivian Quinn, you’re the one who came to me. Since you decided to provoke me, you can forget about drawing a line between us for the rest of your life!"
Vivian Quinn immediately flew into a rage. "Jett Sterling, what gives you the right to say that? I may have provoked you, but it wasn’t intentional! I’m the victim here, too!"
Jett Sterling laughed instead of getting angry, but his expression was even more terrifying than before. "So you finally said it. You feel wronged because we slept together, don’t you? Vivian Quinn, do you look down on me that much? How am I any worse than that Austin Grant, huh?"
"This isn’t about who’s better!" Vivian Quinn struggled fiercely in his arms. "Let me go!"
"I told you, you can forget about ever leaving me!" With that, the man lowered his head and crushed his lips against hers.
"Mmph..." Vivian Quinn’s eyes flew wide open. She could clearly feel this kiss was filled with a towering rage, meant as a punishment.
A wave of shame and anger surged through her, and Vivian Quinn struggled even harder. "Mmph... you... let... mmph..."
The man’s kiss was forceful and tyrannical, giving her absolutely no room to escape.
The difference in strength between them was too great; Vivian Quinn couldn’t break free. She tried to bite him, but as if he’d anticipated her move, he deftly dodged the attack.
Humiliated and furious, Vivian Quinn felt tears stream down her face against her will, trickling between their intertwined lips.
Jett Sterling froze. As if waking from a dream, he snapped back to his senses and pulled his lips from hers.
Vivian Quinn seized the opportunity to shove him away. The next second, a crisp "SLAP" echoed through the spacious, elegant study.
Both of them froze. The room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Vivian Quinn’s right hand was numb, her fingertips trembling as she stared blankly at the man before her.
They stared at each other in silence. The atmosphere devolved into a suffocating stillness.
After what felt like an eternity, a sudden knock on the door broke the silence. Vivian Quinn jerked back to reality, turned, and ran out.
"Miss Quinn, are you all right?" Easton Rivers, standing outside the door, looked utterly confused.
Vivian Quinn didn’t answer him. She ran back to the guest room and forcefully slammed the door shut with a loud "BANG!"
Easton Rivers sensed something was wrong. He stepped into the study. "Master Sterling..."
"Get out!" the man behind the desk roared.
Easton Rivers flinched and hastily closed the door before leaving.
’Was this... a case of being caught in the crossfire?’
「...」
Vivian Quinn showered and got into bed, but she tossed and turned for what felt like ages, unable to fall asleep.
’She was angry. So, so angry. All because of Jett Sterling!’
’Just when she’d started to develop a good impression of him, just when she thought he was a decent person, he had to go and prove her wrong.’
’That bastard dared to force a kiss on her. How despicable!’
Vivian Quinn scrubbed at her lips. She had already brushed her teeth, but she could still taste Jett Sterling on them.
’Despicable!’
’She would never, ever forgive him!’
After a sleepless night, Vivian Quinn finally drifted into a groggy sleep just before dawn.
The next morning, Jett Sterling sat at the dining table. The oppressive atmosphere radiating from him was so intense that the nearby maids could hardly breathe.
His fingertips tapped lightly on the table. "Go wake Vivian Quinn for breakfast," he said coldly.
"Yes, Sir."
The maid turned, trembling, and was about to head upstairs when the man’s voice sounded behind her again. "Never mind. Don’t wake her."
Without taking a single bite, Jett Sterling maneuvered his wheelchair away from the table.
Vivian Quinn slept until the afternoon. When she finally stirred awake and checked her phone, she saw several missed calls from Silas Quinn.
Vivian Quinn didn’t call him back. She got out of bed, freshened up, and went downstairs for a bite to eat.
Before she could make it back upstairs, Silas Quinn called again.
Vivian Quinn took a deep breath before finally answering. "What is it?"
"Vivian Quinn, how dare you even ask!" Silas Quinn immediately started shouting. "Look at what you’ve done! You’ve completely disgraced the Quinn family! Are you trying to give me a heart attack? How did I end up with such an ungrateful daughter!"
"You’ve said that to me countless times; my ears are getting sore. Can’t you come up with something new?" Vivian Quinn said coolly. "Just tell me. How did Rachel Quinn twist the facts to frame me this time?"
"Stop trying to smear Rachel’s name. If you were half as sensible as her, I’d thank my lucky stars!" Silas Quinn seethed with disappointment. "You skipped your engagement party with Austin because you were out hooking up with another man! Do you have any idea how shameful that is? It’s cheating!"
"If you’d at least hooked up with someone more powerful than Austin Grant, that would be one thing. But you had to find a cripple? Why would you debase yourself like that! Austin was right to get together with Rachel. A person like you isn’t worth his time!"
Vivian Quinn actually laughed. "So I’ve got it figured out. Austin Grant and Rachel Quinn are telling everyone that I cheated first, so they were ’forced’ to get together, is that it? Not a bad spin. It’s a shame they didn’t go into public relations."
"Vivian Quinn, you have the nerve to be sarcastic right now!" Silas Quinn roared. "Austin already sent the photo of you cheating to everyone in our circle. You’ve made me a complete laughingstock!"
Vivian Quinn frowned. "What photo?"
"Are you still playing dumb? Look for yourself!"
A photo quickly arrived via message. Vivian Quinn looked at it—it was a picture from last night, of her helping Jett Sterling into his car in the parking lot after the auction!
The angle of the photo made it look like she and Jett Sterling were locked in a kiss. It couldn’t have looked more intimate.
Vivian Quinn gritted her teeth and said icily, "If I told you that Austin Grant betrayed me first, and that your precious daughter Rachel not only had a secret affair with him but also plotted to set me up, would you believe me?"
"To think you’d still try to turn the tables at a time like this! How vile! Rachel is so kind; how could she possibly try to harm you? Vivian Quinn, you’d better behave yourself. I’ll settle this score with you when I’m back in the country!"
Vivian Quinn hung up the phone. A self-mocking smile touched her lips. ’I knew that’s what he’d say, so what was I even hoping for?’
This was her father—a man who had never believed her, who only had eyes for Rachel.
Vivian Quinn tilted her head back, forcing her tears to recede. She pulled out her laptop and got to work.
「...」
At nine o’clock that night, Vivian Quinn showered and lay down to sleep.
She hadn’t left her room, so she didn’t know if Jett Sterling was back. Nor did she want to.
’It would be best if he just stayed away, like he did today. In one month... no, in 28 days, I’m moving out of here. I won’t stay a second longer!’
Just as she was thinking this, a knock suddenly came at her door.
Vivian Quinn ignored it.
But from outside the door came Jett Sterling’s low voice. "Vivian Quinn, open the door."
