Warm Married Life: Mr. President Loves His Darling Wife-Chapter 149 - 148: A Daring Game (Part 1)
"Oh oh oh oh!" Applause and cheers immediately echoed around.
The man raised his hand slightly, signaling everyone to quiet down before he spoke, "This year’s game is the same as last year’s. Those who draw the ghost card are responsible for finding people, and those who draw the civilian card should find a place to hide. If a civilian gets caught by a ghost, they must obey the ghost’s orders to do anything. Are you all willing to play?!"
"Willing!" The cheers grew louder from below, evidently from many regular customers who were already familiar with the routine. Everyone was quite excited and eagerly anticipated what was about to happen.
Bella was a bit bewildered, "Ms. Flynn, does that mean civilians have to obey whatever the ghosts’ orders are?"
"Yes." Elaine Vaughn nodded, "That’s what makes the game thrilling."
"But... but what if it’s an excessive order?" Bella felt a bit nervous, not really wanting to play this game.
"Don’t worry, everyone is here to have fun, there won’t be any orders like killing or arson," Elaine comforted, patting Bella’s hand, "Besides, you might not necessarily draw a civilian card."
Sharon Cheney frowned, "Elaine, forget it, Bella and I won’t participate in this game. You shouldn’t participate either."
"We’ve come all this way, it’d be a shame not to play this game." Seeing their reluctance, Elaine had to compromise in the end, "Alright, alright, since I have a stake in this bar, follow me when drawing, I’ll ensure you get the ghost card."
"So there’s a trick to drawing cards," Bella widened her eyes, realizing she had been a bit naive.
"Of course," Elaine lowered her voice, "There are quite a few thrill-seekers here, some wealthy, some famous. If they want the ghost card, they have to name their price beforehand, it’s also a way to earn money."
Sharon added, "Many of those high-status individuals often lead quite constrained lives, coming here with a disguise where no one knows anyone, they can certainly let loose."
"I see," Bella nodded, feeling she’d learned something new today.
As the three of them were talking, a waiter from the bar had already come over with a box containing cards.
Elaine whispered to the two, "Draw the thicker, bumpy cards."
Just then, the waiter arrived in front of the three, "Please draw a card."
The rule of drawing cards is to reveal the identity immediately after drawing, to prevent anyone from switching cards temporarily.
Elaine drew first, revealing her identity, ghost card.
Sharon followed, revealing the ghost card as well.
The other players nearby were surprised to see two ghost cards in a row, and crowded over to look.
Bella reached her hand into the box to draw a card, searching for cards that matched Elaine’s description.
Found it!
Bella’s fingers brushed over a card, confirming it was different from the others nearby, and was about to grab it and pull it out when someone unknowingly bumped into her, causing her to stumble forward precariously. Fortunately, the waiter reacted quickly to catch her.
"Are you alright, beautiful lady?"
"Thank you, I’m fine," Bella nodded in gratitude, picking up the card she had grabbed when she fell, and was instantly stunned.
Oh no, someone bumped into her just then, and she actually grabbed a card, but it wasn’t the ghost card she originally touched; it was another ordinary civilian card!
"Beautiful lady, it’s your turn to reveal your identity."
