Chapter 150: Chapter 149: A Daring Game (Part 2)

She drew a civilian card, how was she supposed to reveal her identity?

Bella Acker clutched the card, casting a pleading look at Ms. Flynn. π‘“π˜³π‘’π‘’π“Œπ˜¦π˜£π˜―β„΄π‘£π˜¦π‘™.π˜€π‘œπ‘š

Elaine Vaughn saw the card in her hand and immediately knew the foolish girl had drawn a civilian card. But in front of everyone, it wasn’t possible to swap her card anymore.

Sharon Cheney sighed too, whispering, "We’ve hit a snag, what should we do now?"

"Don’t worry, I have a place where Bella can hide safely and no one will find her," Elaine Vaughn nodded at Bella, indicating she could reveal her card.

Bella Acker wore a bitter expression, but because of the mask, others couldn’t see her face.

"Beautiful miss?" The waiter assumed she didn’t know the rules as it was her first time since she hesitated to reveal her card.

Bella Acker opened the card she had drawn, embossed with the words "civilian" in gold letters.

Everyone around watching finally breathed a sigh of relief. There were only a few ghost cards, if they kept drawing them, how would the rest of the people play?

The waiter carried the box around for the others to draw, and a dozen people in a row also turned up civilian cards.

Bella Acker clutched her card, sighing uncontrollably. She’d clearly felt the ghost card earlier, but a bump turned it into a civilian card, and she couldn’t be more upset.

"It’s alright, don’t worry about drawing a civilian card, you still have me and Ms. Cheney with you." Elaine Vaughn laughed, "We both got ghost cards, we’ll certainly keep you safe."

"But I had touched a ghost card just now, and then I got bumped and missed it." Bella Acker pouted, "So frustrating."

"Alright, I’ll find you soon," Sharon Cheney comforted with a smile, "Don’t worry, have fun."

"Okay." Bella Acker nodded, somewhat relieved to be safe, but still felt a tinge of regret. She could have played as a ghost.

Finally, everyone had drawn their cards.

The man with the microphone spoke again, "Now, will the guests holding the ghost cards please head up to the second floor, and those with civilian cards to the first floor."

"Bella, look after yourself first. Later, hide in the bushes in the back garden, we’ll come find you." Elaine Vaughn whispered before leading Sharon Cheney with the other ghost card holders up to the second floor.

With the two of them gone, Bella Acker was left all alone.

After a chaotic burst of activity, the man with the microphone continued, "Alright, now will the guests with civilian cards please find a place to hide anywhere in the shop, after ten minutes, the guests with ghost cards will start searching."

"Quick, quick, this year we have to hide well, can’t be found so easily."

"Ah! I really hope I get found by that man in the vampire costume, he must be super handsome!"

"I heard last year some people holding ghost cards asked for a room."

Bella Acker listened to the discussions around her, feeling a bit dumbfounded. She only imagined something as bold as a kiss would happen, but couldn’t believe someone was asking for a room. Do the civilians found have to comply with such outrageous requests?

Bella Acker was a bit panicked, but with Ms. Flynn and Ms. Cheney holding ghost cards now on the second floor, she couldn’t go there with her civilian card, so she had to find a place to hide first.

Right, Ms. Flynn mentioned the bushes in the back garden, how could she get to the garden?

Following the other guests with civilian cards, Bella Acker walked towards the back. Exiting the hall and turning down a corner of the corridor’s door, she then discovered the hidden marvel behind the shop.

At the back of the shop was a huge garden, only illuminated by two lamps on either end of the paths due to the game, everything else was quite dark.
