Villain MMORPG: Almighty Devil Emperor and His Seven Demonic Wives-Chapter 1027 : You Okay?
Villain Ch 1027. You Okay?
Shea leaned over Azura slightly, offering her a warm smile. "The food looks amazing, doesn't it?" she said.
Azura nodded, her smile a bit forced. "Yeah, it does," she replied softly. She wasn't really hungry, but she knew she had to eat something. She didn't want to make things more awkward than they already were.
Allen watched her carefully, his own appetite waning. 'Emma surely loves to spit out the truth without thinking about other people's feelings.'
Kai began serving the dishes, moving gracefully around the table as he placed steaming plates of food in front of each person. "I hope everyone enjoys the meal," he said politely, his voice calm and reassuring. "I've prepared a variety of dishes today—grilled chicken, roasted vegetables, a light salad, and some fresh bread."
They enjoyed their lunch, the table slowly filling with the sounds of clinking silverware and soft chatter. The girls, though, were having a hard time focusing on the food. After the intimacy they shared with Allen last night, they found it difficult to settle back into normalcy.
An intimate meal, something like feeding Allen or teasing him under the table, would have been perfect to keep the flame alive from last night. But with Emma and Azura sitting right there, that wasn't going to happen. Especially not with Azura.
They all understood the situation. Even though Azura and Allen weren't related by blood, their familial status made any potential relationship between them taboo. Cousins in name, even without the direct blood connection, were still considered off-limits. The girls recognized the struggle she was going through.
She was stuck in a place where her feelings couldn't be openly acknowledged, let alone acted upon. And while they had become close with Allen in a way that Azura could never be, they still felt a bit sorry for her.
Allen, for his part, was deep in thought as he ate. He knew Azura was feeling out of place, and he didn't like seeing her this way—quiet, reserved, almost lost in her own world. He wished there was something he could do to make it easier for her, to make her feel more included. An idea crossed his mind, maybe she could join his villain team in the game.
Azura was a skilled fighter, one of the best players he knew, and having her on his team would be a huge advantage. Not to mention, it would give her a way to be close to him without crossing any boundaries.
But it wasn't that simple. If Azura agreed, she would have to stop being a streamer. He couldn't just ask her to give that up. And even if she was willing, he'd need to get approval from his dad and the entire game development team. They were careful about who they allowed into the game in such a high-profile role. Not to mention there was an upcoming event where he'd become a romanceable character.
It was a complicated situation, and he wasn't sure how to approach it.
'Well, I think this is not a good time,' he thought, pushing the idea aside for now. There were too many variables, and too many potential complications. And he didn't want to make things more difficult for Azura, not when she was already feeling so conflicted.
He glanced over at her, noticing the way she pushed her food around her plate more than actually eating it. She seemed distant and lost in her thoughts. He wanted to reach out, to offer some kind of comfort or reassurance, but he wasn't sure what to say.
"Azura," he said softly, trying to draw her back into the moment. "You okay?"
She looked up, her eyes meeting his. For a moment, there was a flicker of something—sadness, longing, maybe even frustration. But she quickly masked it with a small, tight smile. "Yeah," she said quietly. "I'm fine. Just… thinking."
The table grew quiet for a moment. Azura took a deep breath and broke the silence. "I think I'll head back to my apartment tomorrow," she said, her voice steady, but there was an unmistakable undercurrent of resolve in her tone. "I've stayed here long enough—longer than I thought I would."
Allen's brow furrowed slightly. He wasn't surprised, exactly—he knew she'd have to leave eventually. Still, hearing her say it out loud made the reality sink in. He didn't want her to leave feeling the way she seemed to feel right now. "Tell me what time you're leaving, and I'll take you to the station," he offered, his voice gentle but firm.
Azura shook her head. "You don't have to. I'm a big girl. I can manage on my own."
But Allen wasn't having any of it. "I insist," he said, his tone leaving no room for argument. "Just let me know the time."
Azura hesitated, her gaze flickering between him and the girls as if she were weighing her options. Finally, she sighed, resigned. "Eight in the morning," she replied. "My train leaves at nine."
Emma immediately piped up, her expression one of mild protest. "That's too early," she said, her tone almost pleading. "What about breakfast? You can't leave without having a proper meal."
Azura gave a small, almost apologetic smile. "I'll just grab something on the go," she said, trying to keep her tone light. "It's no big deal."
Emma frowned, clearly unhappy with that answer. "You don't have to rush out like that," she argued. "Stay a bit longer. At least let us make you a decent breakfast."
Azura shook her head again, more firmly this time. "I appreciate it, but I think it's better if I get an early start," she said, her voice quiet but resolute. "I have a lot to catch up on, and… I think it's just time for me to go."
Allen watched her carefully, noticing the way her fingers nervously toyed with the edge of her napkin. She was putting on a brave face, but he could see the cracks in her armor. She was hurting, and he didn't know how to help her. He wished there was something he could say or do to make her feel better, to make her stay longer, but he also knew that this was her choice.
She needed space, and maybe some distance, to sort through her feelings.
Note: This isn't a forever goodbye since I will put her near Allen later. So, the question is should I put her into Allen's harem? Or just let her be near Allen as his cousin?
