Vampire Progenitor System-Chapter 47: You’re dead
Chapter 47: You’re dead
Ruka and Lucifer walked back into the room, side by side.
The air shifted immediately. Everyone turned to look, like they couldn’t believe what they were seeing.
"I see someone finally accepted he has a brother," Remu teased, flashing a grin at Lucifer.
Lucifer didn’t even spare her a glance. He walked straight to the minibar, grabbed a bottle, popped it open, and took a long drink like none of this was his problem.
Francisca leaned forward, a small smile on her lips.
"Now that you two have bonded," she said, dragging the word out with a smirk, "maybe we can figure out the common link between you two. Your mother. Find her. Ask her what the hell she was thinking."
Ruka shook his head, cutting her off before she could say more.
"I’m not looking to ask," he said flatly.
"I want to kill her."
The room froze.
Only Temmy stayed calm, sipping her drink like she already knew this was coming.
Lucifer raised an eyebrow, slowly turning to look at Ruka.
He let out a short, dry laugh and leaned against the counter, swirling the drink in his hand.
"That’s a nice dream and all," Lucifer said lazily, "but leave me out of it. I don’t care about her. I don’t want to find her. I don’t even want to kill her."
He tipped the bottle back, draining half of it before speaking again.
"She threw me away like trash. So that’s what I’ll be — trash. Far away from her. Forgotten."
He set the bottle down with a sharp clink.
"If you want to dig up the past, do it yourself."
The room stayed heavy for a moment.
No one moved. No one spoke.
Ruka’s eyes narrowed slightly. He wasn’t angry. Not really.
It was more like... disappointment. A silent kind that burned deeper than rage.
"Fine," Ruka muttered, shoving his hands into his pockets. "I’ll do it myself."
He turned and started walking away, the shadows in the room bending around him.
"Wait," Francisca called after him. "You can’t just—"
"Let him go," Temmy said quietly, standing up and brushing her coat off. "He needs this."
Ruka didn’t stop. The door slammed behind him with a loud bang.
Lucifer stared at the door for a long second, then sighed and poured himself another drink.
"Idiots," he muttered under his breath.
Remu stretched lazily on the couch, kicking her legs up over the armrest.
"You’re an idiot too, you know," she said, smirking. "You’re just a lazier one."
Lucifer flipped her off without even turning around.
Outside, under the dark clouds...
Ruka stood in the middle of the street, head tilted back as the rain started to fall.
Cold drops slid down his face, mixing with the heat in his blood.
Somewhere deep inside him, something cracked open.
Lightning flashed. Thunder rolled.
He closed his eyes, feeling the weight of everything settle onto his shoulders.
"I’ll find you," he whispered. "And when I do... you’ll pay."
Behind him, footsteps approached.
Ruka didn’t need to turn around to know who it was.
Temmy stopped a few feet away, her umbrella barely keeping the rain off her shoulders.
"You sure about this?" she asked softly.
"I’m sure," Ruka said.
Temmy tilted her head, studying him for a moment.
"You know," she said, "killing her won’t fix anything."
Ruka finally turned to look at her, his silver eyes cold and sharp.
"I don’t want to fix anything," he said.
"I just want her gone."
Temmy smiled faintly, almost sadly.
"Alright then," she said. "Let’s burn the world."
"Nice dream," a voice sneered from nowhere, "but you’ll face opposition... just like now."
Before Ruka or Temmy could react, the shadows under their feet twisted violently.
A figure burst out from the ground, grabbing Temmy and yanking her aside with a loud crash.
Ruka’s eyes widened—
He lunged at the figure without thinking, fist glowing with energy—
But she melted into the darkness like smoke.
Before he could turn, he felt a cold, sharp pain.
A clawed hand tore through his stomach from behind.
Blood splattered the wet ground.
Ruka gasped, gritting his teeth as he staggered forward.
The shadow peeled away, revealing a familiar face—
Vina.
She sneered, her hand still buried in his gut.
"Now tell me," she said coldly, "what’s a demon doing walking around in the mortal realm?"
Ruka coughed out a bit of blood, his lips curling into a pained grin.
"I’m not a demon, bitch," he spat, "I’m a cambion. Abandoned by a demon. So I’ve got every damn right to be here."
Temmy, struggling up from the ground, screamed out, "Let go of him!"
She charged at Vina, fury blazing in her eyes—
But the shadows around Vina lashed out like spears, impaling Temmy mid-air.
"Ahhh!" Temmy screamed, crashing to the ground, blood pooling around her.
Thunder cracked overhead.
Rain poured harder, soaking everything in seconds.
BAM!
CRASH!
Something—or someone—smashed through the building wall nearby, falling hard onto the ground.
Everyone froze for a second.
Ruka, through the haze of pain, turned his head weakly.
A broken, bloodied figure groaned on the ground.
"Rey!" Vina’s face twisted in horror when she saw her little brother lying there, barely conscious.
She snapped her head up, fury burning in her eyes.
"Which bastard did this!?"
Heavy footsteps echoed in the rain.
The air grew thick.
Cold.
Colder than the storm around them.
A low, dangerous voice answered her.
"I did."
Vina turned—and froze.
Lucifer stood there, red eyes glowing in the darkness like a demon’s.
His presence alone felt like it could crush the whole world.
He cracked his knuckles slowly, his face twisted in pure, cold rage. frёeωebɳovel.com
The rain hissed around him like it was afraid to touch him.
"You touched my brother," Lucifer said, voice low and deadly.
"You’re dead."
Vina took a step back without meaning to, her instincts screaming at her.
But it was already too late.
Lucifer was coming for her.
