The roar sounds agonizing and raw.

He sounds like a man in too much pain that he can’t withhold the screams and sobs. This is how dangerous Silver wolfsbane is, it drives its victims mad before tearing them up by their own hands.

"My son" Yeon says, and without thinking, my body jumps into action and I unbuckle my belt to run in the direction of Jaehyun’s agonizing screams while my omega howls restlessly for the Alpha.

I run as fast as I can and push past everyone in my way, I hear myself growl angrily at the one person who dares to hold my arm to keep me back, "who is he?" the person says and I shake him off, ready to fight.

"Let him go" Yeon commands from where he stands and the man lets me go.

With a growl, I continue my movement and push the door open. The second I step into the room, I am choked up by the thick pheromones in the air, Jaehyun’s patchouli scent is strong with bitterness and is overwhelmingly heavy in the air.

The smell of pain marring his pheromones is enough to make my eyes water and my nose burn, I cover my nose as best as I can and approach the alpha.

Jaehyun is on the bed with his face twisted into an expression of immense pain and his head snaps up as I walk closer. His alpha is shining through his eyes fiery, red and wild and he looks like a beast with the drool at his mouth.

I should be scared but I am not afraid of the alpha’s state, instead, I am worried about him. Slowly, I pull off the hoodie and unbutton my white shirt enough to be able to take off my scent patch.

"Jaehyun-ah, it me" I say in a measured volume and move even closer to the bed, he blinks at me as I rub at my neck, hoping to be able to release my scent but it doesn’t work.

"Scent me" I request softly, deliberately keeping myself calm, knowing that any reaction from me can trigger him to panic or go wild again.

I question him and he lets out a heavy sigh, "I am not feeling like myself right now, and I don’t want to hurt you" he says roughly, his voice is hoarse from screaming for hours on end and I feel my omega whine for him, "I know you won’t hurt me...and I am strong enough to protect myself" I say and he chuckles tiredly.

It’s sad seeing him like this. His breathing is heavy as he lifts his hand to wipe the drool off his face with the back of his hand and I see how heavy his eyes are from fighting the need to go feral.

"Never thought I would see a Choi in Hwangyeon" he says playfully with a smirk on his face, and I shake my head at him, "Do you ever take anything seriously?" I ask him and he groans, "ah, Taeho has gotten to you too, no fun" he jokes and I climb into the bed to be with him.

"You said I should use you like a drug, here you are at the verge of death again" I scold him gently and he adjusts his body to be closer to me. Jaehyun holds on to me tightly and buries his nose in my neck, "you smell beautiful all the time" he says and I sigh, knowing what he is going to say next

"I wish you wouldn’t use a patch all the time" he adds and takes a big breath against my neck.

"Jaehyun, you have silver wolfsbane in your system" I inform him and he gives a nod still breathing in my scent, "the cure is a bit..." I say and he pulls away from my neck to look away, "I know what the cure is Yujun-ah" he says softly.

He turns his head slowly to look in my eyes, for a second we look at each other, silently communicating the words we are both forbidden to say aloud.

A mate bite.

"No" he says and I frown at him, "I can’t endanger you like that" he says, "I am in danger anyways, my entire existence is danger" I say stubbornly.

"You don’t know what you’re asking" he whispers, "What are you talking about? Its just a bite" I say and he doubles over in pain, the change in my scent is starting to trigger his alpha side to panic.

"It’s not just a bite, its bonding forever, can you do that?" Jaehyun asks through his teeth and I look down at my fingers.

My clan will end my life if they find out I am bonded to anyone...the same way they will murder Yunah if they knew about hers.

"Do it" I say to Jaehyun and bring his head to the crook of my neck, "Do it, I’m ready" I say and he leans into me, I shiver as his warm breath fans my neck and his teeth graze my neck.
