Upon hearing this, Lin Kuang quickly nodded. "Okay, I'll consider it." After all, he couldn't just outright refuse. It would be incredibly disrespectful, especially since Zhang Guodong was the commander of the Nanjing Military Region.

Zhang Guodong couldn't help but feel pleased with Lin Kuang's response. He knew this sort of thing couldn't be rushed. The fact that Lin Kuang had agreed to consider it meant there was hope, and that was enough for him.

Hearing Lin Kuang's words, Yang Wucheng couldn't hide his annoyance.

"Lin Kuang, don't be fooled by this guy. He's a crafty one. He'd sell you and you'd still be counting the money for him," Yang Wucheng grumbled.

"Old Yang, are you looking for a fight? I'll take you on any time!" Zhang Guodong roared back, completely disregarding his image.

At this, Yang Wucheng immediately rolled up his sleeves. "Damn it, a fight it is! You think I'm scared of you?"

With that, the two men looked ready to throw down, rolling up their sleeves and flexing.

Seeing this, Lin Kuang broke out in a cold sweat and hastily tried to stop them. They were both Generals, after all. If they started fighting in the car, it would be an absolute embarrassment.

Heeding Lin Kuang's words, both men showed him enough respect to promptly stand down.

And so, the two of them spent the rest of the drive glaring daggers at each other. They were still staring each other down when they arrived at the hotel and weren't even prepared to get out of the car. If Lin Kuang hadn't been the first to suggest getting out, they probably could have kept at it for another half a day. You had to admit, their stamina was truly impressive.

This was an exceptionally luxurious restaurant. Zhang Guodong was paying out of his own pocket entirely because of Lin Kuang's visit. Otherwise, he would never come to a place like this where the dishes were so expensive. However, he had to admit the food was undeniably delicious.

"Tsk, tsk. You stingy bastard actually brought us to a place this high-end? Looks like I'm riding on Lin Kuang's coattails, huh?" Yang Wucheng remarked with considerable contempt after a glance at Zhang Guodong.

Whenever he visited, Zhang Guodong had never brought him to such a fine establishment. Clearly, he was making an exception this time to curry favor with Lin Kuang.

Hearing this, Zhang Guodong shot Yang Wucheng a disdainful look. "Of course. If Lin Kuang hadn't come, why would I ever bring you to a place like this? A single meal here costs tens of thousands. Do you think you're worth that much?"

Yang Wucheng was about to fire back when Lin Kuang quickly stepped between them. If he didn't intervene, who knew how far their squabble would go.

"Commanders, let's head inside," Lin Kuang said with a smile.

"What 'Commander'? In here, just call me Uncle Chen. No need to be so formal," Zhang Guodong quickly replied with a smile.

"Hmph, hypocrite!" Yang Wucheng muttered bitterly from the side.

Zhang Guodong just snorted. "I can't be bothered to stoop to your level!"

With that, he turned his attention back to Lin Kuang and said with a grin, "Let's go, Lin Kuang. We'll head up. Don't pay any attention to that old fool."

Lin Kuang was at a loss for words but followed Zhang Guodong into the hotel anyway, with Yang Wucheng trailing closely behind.

At that moment, Zhang Tianyou, Sun Lei, and the others, led by Liang Kai, also entered the hotel and followed them into the elevator. A moment later, the whole group was ascending straight to the twenty-eighth floor.

Arriving on the twenty-eighth floor, Zhang Guodong led Lin Kuang and Yang Wucheng straight to the "Splendor" private room. Meanwhile, Liang Kai guided Zhang Tianyou, Sun Lei, and the others to "Pride and Plum Blossoms" next door. Clearly, Zhang Guodong had reserved both rooms in advance.

As everyone took their seats, a waitress with a fine figure and a pretty face walked in.

"Gentlemen, what would you like to order?" the waitress asked with a professional yet sweet smile that left a pleasant impression.

"Lin Kuang, don't be shy. Order whatever you want," Zhang Guodong said with a broad smile.

Lin Kuang actually felt a bit embarrassed by the offer. Just then, however, Yang Wucheng took the menu and scanned it with a grin.

He proceeded to order twelve different dishes, each one being the most expensive on the menu. As for whether he actually liked the food… well, it was all rich stuff anyway. You get used to it after a while.

As he listened to Yang Wucheng rapidly reel off one expensive dish after another, Zhang Guodong's expression twitched. Damn it, that bastard is ruthless! He's absolutely doing this on purpose to screw me over! he thought, shooting Yang Wucheng a venomous glare.

"Also, bring us two bottles of '58 Maotai," Yang Wucheng added, setting the menu down with a beaming smile.

Hearing that, Zhang Guodong's face went black, and he nearly coughed up blood. Damn it, one bottle of that vintage cost 30,000 yuan! Two bottles would be 60,000. Combined with the food for both their table and the one next door, the total would be at least 100,000 yuan!

At that, Yang Wucheng shot Zhang Guodong a triumphant glance. Heh, trying to compete with me, punk? You've still got a long way to go!

Zhang Guodong's face was thunderous. It wasn't that he couldn't afford it, but he was furious that Yang Wucheng was so obviously ripping him off.

You old bastard, just you wait. When I get to East Sea, see if I don't bleed you dry! Zhang Guodong seethed inwardly before turning to chat with Lin Kuang, naturally steering the conversation back to him coming to Nanjing as an instructor.

In truth, Lin Kuang was quite reluctant. He already had his work at the company, leaving him with little free time outside of Saturdays and Sundays. On Sundays, he had to go to the East Sea Military Region, and on Saturdays, he wanted to spend time with Liu Shilin. Besides, he needed some time to rest.

However, looking at Zhang Guodong's expectant face and faced with such a gracious offer, Lin Kuang found it truly difficult to refuse.

After a moment of thought, Lin Kuang spoke up. "How about this, Uncle Chen? I normally go to the East Sea Military Region every Sunday. From now on, what if I alternate? I'll go to the East Sea Military Region one week and come to Nanjing the next. Would that work?"

Hearing this, Zhang Guodong slapped his thigh in excitement and burst out laughing. "Haha, yes! Of course that works! Why wouldn't it? Then it's settled! This week—oh no, next week, you'll come to our Nanjing Military Region. Don't worry, I guarantee you won't be disappointed!"

Zhang Guodong laughed heartily, his spirits soaring. Suddenly, he felt that this meal was worth every penny, no matter how much it cost.

Yang Wucheng didn't say anything. He had just been bickering with Zhang Guodong earlier; if Lin Kuang had truly made a decision, Yang Wucheng would support it completely.

After all, they were all military men, and despite their arguments, his bond with Zhang Guodong was rock-solid. More importantly, they both intended to align themselves with the Lin Family. Having Lin Kuang train the Special Forces from both of their military regions was undoubtedly a fantastic development.

Just then, the dishes and drinks began to arrive. The three of them ate and chatted, the atmosphere exceptionally pleasant.
