Unrivaled Soldier in the City-Chapter 268: Nonsense
However, there are always some clueless people in this world, like the kid who had just kicked open the door to the private room.
Lin Kuang and the two others were in the middle of their meal when the door was suddenly kicked open. All three men furrowed their brows, their gazes falling upon the doorway. They were all battle-hardened veterans, so such a minor incident was commonplace for them and not a big deal. However, having their meal disrupted was extremely irritating.
The kid who kicked open the door was named Meng Zhao, and he was quite a figure in Nanjing. His father was a real estate tycoon with significant status, owning numerous properties and film companies. He was influential in both legitimate circles and the underworld. Backed by his father's reputation, Meng Zhao strutted around Nanjing, where few people ever dared to challenge him. This young man also had a peculiar habit: he insisted on dining at the same restaurant and always in the same spot. The private room, named 'Blossoms of Wealth,' was exclusively his, and he invariably came here for lunch or dinner.
It was precisely mealtime, so Meng Zhao arrived with his entourage. Normally, this private room was always reserved for him. Unfortunately, the new manager was unaware of this arrangement and had given it to Zhang Guodong when he called to book a room. When Meng Zhao arrived and requested his usual spot, the front desk staff had to inform him it was taken. An ordinary person would simply choose another room—it was just a meal, after all. But Meng Zhao was accustomed to getting his way. Hearing that his private room was occupied, he didn't say another word and immediately ordered his men to beat the new manager to a pulp. Afterward, he led his group upstairs and kicked open the door to the 'Blossoms of Wealth' room.
Seeing two men in their fifties and a soldier dining inside, Meng Zhao couldn't help but sneer. Of course, Yang Wucheng and Zhang Guodong were not in uniform, as that would have been far too conspicuous. Lin Kuang was only wearing a standard camouflage uniform with the unique insignia of the Navy SEALs, but Meng Zhao couldn't recognize it.
"Damn it, do you know this is my private spot? Get the hell out of here now," Meng Zhao said arrogantly, showing them no respect whatsoever.
At these words, Yang Wucheng became furious. With his fiery temper, having the door kicked in on him was something he hadn't experienced in years. When had he ever been treated so disrespectfully?
"What stray dog is this? Get out!" Yang Wucheng roared, pointing at Meng Zhao.
"Motherfucker, you old codger! Do you have any idea who I am? My name is Meng Zhao! Who in Nanjing dares to mess with me? You old bastard must be looking for death!" Meng Zhao cursed, completely ignoring Yang Wucheng's furious expression. Accustomed to throwing his weight around Nanjing, he truly feared no one, especially not some old man he didn't recognize.
By now, Zhang Guodong's expression had also turned grim. This was Nanjing, his turf. For something like this to happen here, how could he possibly remain pleasant?
"Meng Zhao? I don't fucking care what you're dreaming about—get the hell out of here now!" Zhang Guodong said angrily. He had invited Yang Wucheng and Lin Kuang for a meal, and this punk's intrusion was a blatant slap in the face.
"Screw you, old man! Don't give me any lip. The three of you, get the hell out, or don't blame me for what happens next!" Meng Zhao snapped, waving a hand behind him.
The three bodyguards with him immediately stepped forward. They glared menacingly at Lin Kuang's group, looking as if they were ready to strike at any moment.
Seeing this, Yang Wucheng and Zhang Guodong were so furious their faces were red with rage. When had they ever encountered such a situation? Or rather, it had been many years since they last had. In all this time, who had ever dared to be so arrogant in their presence? This was especially true for Zhang Guodong. This was his territory. In all of Nanjing, what blind fool would dare cause him trouble?
The thought only made Zhang Guodong angrier, and he stepped forward, ready to take action.
But at that moment, Lin Kuang blocked his path. "Uncle Zhang, don't rush," he said with a smile. "Stay calm. Why use a sledgehammer to crack a nut? Let me handle this little matter."
At this, Zhang Guodong couldn't help but nod. It would be beneath him to personally deal with the likes of Meng Zhao; they weren't worth his time.
"Kid, teach them a good lesson. If anything goes wrong, I've got your back. Goddammit, no one in Nanjing has ever dared to speak to me like this!" Zhang Guodong said, seething.
"Alright, Uncle Zhang. I'll make sure you're satisfied." With that, Lin Kuang turned and walked toward Meng Zhao.
Seeing Lin Kuang approach, Meng Zhao snorted disdainfully. "You three idiots, get him! Cripple this little bastard for me." He then sneered, mocking Zhang Guodong's earlier words. "Him having his back? Bullshit! I'll take responsibility for whatever happens!"
Meng Zhao roared, posturing as if he were some big shot.
Zhang Guodong almost laughed out of sheer exasperation. Is this guy a complete moron?
Lin Kuang shook his head helplessly. This Meng Zhao is a true idiot. How dare he speak to Yang Wucheng and Zhang Guodong like that? This kid is finished. Even his father will probably be toast.
Just then, hearing Meng Zhao's command, the three bodyguards made their move. They swung their fists at Lin Kuang, their punches heavy and powerful. It was clear they had some training.
Of course, for Lin Kuang, dealing with such riff-raff was a piece of cake.
With a quick flash, Lin Kuang dodged their punches. His right hand swung out in a chop, striking one of the men on the neck. The man crumpled to the ground without a sound, instantly unconscious. The other two froze for a split second. In that instant, Lin Kuang struck like lightning. Two more hand chops connected, and they too fell unconscious.
In just two or three seconds, all of Meng Zhao's backup was on the floor, leaving him utterly dumbfounded.
Those three are usually decent fighters. Why did they go down so easily today?
Before Meng Zhao could figure it out, Lin Kuang appeared in front of him. His right hand swung up and cracked across Meng Zhao's left cheek.
SLAP!
The crisp sound echoed through the room. Lin Kuang hadn't held back. The force of the blow sent Meng Zhao sprawling to the ground.
Completely stunned, Meng Zhao lay on the floor for several seconds before he staggered to his feet, his face beet-red.
"Motherfucker, you dare hit me? You son of a bitch, you dare hit me?" Meng Zhao bellowed, his eyes blazing with a mixture of rage and sheer disbelief, as if he simply couldn't fathom that Lin Kuang had actually struck him.
Lin Kuang could only shake his head. This world is full of arrogant fools who think they're invincible, when in reality, they're nothing but bullshit.
