Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 306 Perilous battle
[El’s POV: ]
The opponent was a being that had revealed her actual power had had gone berserk... and believe me when I say it that women who used to be pretty don’t like it when they had to show them the ugliness that they never wanted but still had to receive.
’She was a pretty person and she knew how to use her charm well. The only reason she rose to one of the highest positions in her time was also because she was because she knew just how actually attractive she was.’
But then for the love her life, she willingly took up this curse to not only defend this place, but to also to punish the bastards that killed the only person she had actually cherished.
She was a normal woman that was happy as the things were, however, after those bastrds started dividing the lands and came after the city on waters, she had no choice but to look after the ones she cared about.
Her loyalty was not with Chiragya, however, with one of his descendants. And, after he died, she wanted nothing more than the destruction of the ones that tried taking what did not belong to them, to us.
’She was a death knight, as well as a mage that had mastered the power of human body.’
The bones wasn’t the only thing she was able to control, she was capable of doing much more when she used to have her original body. However, in that undead body, she had various worldly restrictions.
-Booooooooooooom!
She since the body that used to be one of the prettiest had turned into an incomplete skeleton, since she had become an undead that still possessed all her reasoning and the memories of her previous life she was a being that lived in the most pain in this entire dungeon.
[ "She isn’t that ugly, you know? I would still hug her." ]
[ "I agree. There are many uglier things in the Worldline. But that’s what we think. They would be fortunate enough to even look at that face." ]
She had entered her last stage, the powers she had were released completely and now that she had revealed the face that had been covered by the curtain all this time, she was also not going care about anything.
That was her last effort in which the unsightliness born from her previous prettiness was revealed before my little ones. And they obviously did not like it one bit.
"C-captain?!"
"Ughhhhhhhh!"
"Don’t... don’t fear! Don’t look at it directly if you cannot! Just keep going! Miss Monica!"
It was difficult to put the other side of her face into understandable words. It was even more difficult since her face wasn’t the only thing that was the cause of their extreme reactions.
The body that was covered by the armor-like clothing were now torn apart, the body that was wearing clothes now stood bare before all of them, and no... she did not have breasts. She was an undead skeleton.
Aside from half of her faces one hald, some parts of her legs and some remaining decayed flesh remaining on her bones, she was a skeleton that had rotting flesh, bones that had gone black and, half of her face that was covered by a cloth was an amalgamation of most of the weird things that one could imagine.
There was no human like or humanoid face there. And there nothing like a decaying face either.
’One can even call it a failed experiment if the devil. It was just... too ugly from the normal mortal perspective.’
Bishop and my little handler couldn’t handle the sight of that thing and threw up, while aside from Mona and Friday, everyone else was also feeling the oppression from that face.
It was unsightly, yes, but if they were going to focus on how someone or something looked, they weren’t going to survive down there.
[She used to be a being of unfathomable beauty in her time, however... time, and circumstances did her dirty.]
The epic didn’t call her ugly or unattractive and instead cursed the time and circumstances, which was what it was.
If it weren’t for the situations they were in, or the times that played like that, she wouldn’t have become such a monster.
She was a good person, we knew it well. But the circumstances she was in forced her to act as she was right now.
-Boooooooooooom!
She had gone berserk and was swinging her sword without thinking anything.
The eyes that were attractive and deep were now red with rage and were only focused on the opponents.
She only had one goal—their destruction and defeat. So she acted as she was supposed to and swung her bones without any techniques, and even used her bone summoning magic.
[ "They will win." ]
[ "Though, they will have to take a long break after this." ]
[ "They deserve that much." ]
A sane monster that knows how to use its strengths is more difficult to deal with than a very strong monster that they couldn’t have stood a chance against had it been sane.
Their captain, my ace as well as my No.2 that had controlled her spinning guts in time knew this fact very well now.
They understood how difficult it was to deal with the previous self of this same skeleton, as well as how easy it was now that it had stopped being rational.
’Going berserk was a mistake that she couldn’t have naturally avoided.’
She had turned an undead a long time ago was even though she was something that still retained her mind as a human, she had denied her existence as a human a long time ago.
She was not something that fell in the category of either an undead, or a human if I have to say myself.
She was the most difficult being to deal with normally, however, now that she had gone berserk, she was the easiest one they could hope to deal with in this dungeon.
They just had to follow the instructions of their handler well.
[To live between the boundaries of life and afterlife, to not die... to life for eternity, it took strength. And, to live hating oneself, with regrets and pain of the Right decisions, to deny oneself and still live on... it took courage.]
The following sub bosses would be easy for her to deal with. They weren’t anywhere as dangerous as this one.
’She should have been the final boss had they followed the path that the others usually follow. But, they cannot waste time on things like that.’
They would face a few challenges along the way, meet creatures that they could learn a thing or two from, and fail again and again.
There is no way even they could pass all of this and reach the final room without any serious problems, it was simply impossible.
’But they had to do it.’
At the very least, they had to deal with all the challenges in their path and deal with the ghosts, the memory fragments, as well as a hidden boss that no one from our world had ever discovered.
The one that only appeared when one followed this path.
’They will face it.’
And perhaps by the time they reach there, they will be on the verge of falling apart completely.
It’s possible.
’But they had to do it.’
This dungeon, these monsters, this environment and the strength they currently possessed was all something they will experience many times again in the future.
They will be with us when we deal with the emperor and pope, as well as when we establish our states in this world.
They would have to stand as pillars against the rest of the world and the powers looking after this world.
’This is only the first epic.’
When the time comes, they will have to face enemies much stronger than these.
They had to be ready for that.
{ "Ghaaaaaaaaaaa!" }
"Captain! Left! No.4! From the side! Joker! From behind!"
Clubs. That was the house they were part of. The house dealing with common people and the political powers of this world.
Combat wasn’t their strongest suit, but as a member of this organisation, they all needed to be strong individually so that they can deal with the problems and challenges that came their way in various turns of their lives.
[This was the end for the attractive undead.]
-Oooooooooooooooooong!
They made openings and dealt damage, used spells to weaken her, and with the help of potions and artefacts, they dealt with everything she threw at them.
They had achieved what they wanted, and now, after their bodies had completely broken down and their minds were almost about to shut down, they had reached the point they had longed for when they started this battle a little more than half a day earlier.
This was the last attack...
{ "The brave souls, broken and wounded, tired beyond recognition... some of them on the verge of death from exhaustion, persisted till the end, and dealt the final blows to the enemy that contained all that was left in them." }
It was the end for them, as well as the creature that would receive those attacks.
The battle had ended, that much was certain now.
[She would fall... and one day, rise again to follow the duties that she had accepted." ]
She was a good lady. Strong as well.
’And they still defeated her.’
They were good. I did not make any mistakes putting them in this position.
[Ding!]
They won.
And as a trophy to their triumphant victory, they fell to the ground... lifeless.
