Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 305 Mage death knight
[OP: ]
Her Thorne was made of comfortable cushions and silky curtains around it, and when she stood it from it and summoned her sword, the attractive comfortable seat vanished without a trace into the thin air.
[Thus she was immortal now.]
Holding great powers rivalling the demons of the great hells, the mortal that chased away all dangers that threatened her people, her nation, the place her master had cherished as much as the establisher of their civilization, the great conqueror, she stood before them holding her main weapon.
{ "Let’s see. Are you coming at me together, or does someone want to challenge me to a duel like a honorary worrier?" }
"I, warrior Crocs-"
"Shut the hell up you bastard! That thing is twenty times stronger than you!"
Crocs was a worrier that understood the meaning of honour and wished to fight the skeleton with all his might.
However, he was nowhere near strong enough to stand against that creature all on his own.
He would die with a single sword strike from that sword... every one of them knew that.
It was obvious, actually.
She was an undead and still, she was holding a holy sword that was like a poison to the undead beings who did not follow the cycle of life and death.
They had not seen anything like that or had any information on this.
This was completely new for them... this skeleton that could use weird bone magic and wield a sword at the same time, was a completely new being for them.
They did not know how to deal with her, however, they did not have time to think about things like that anymore.
{ "Seems like no one among you understand honor. Well, good for me." }
-Swiiiiiiiish!
-Ghruuuuuuu...!
She vanished from her place and reappeared right before them and slashed her sword, that created a wave of wind so sharp and strong that the entire area she had slashed before, was swept up by the wave and was destroyed completely.
-Swash! Swash! Swash!
Thankfully, Friday had taken swift actions and had switched the positions of his teammates with a special skill he had earned recently.
"In positions!"
They had no time to organise anymore either. The opponent wasn’t a stationary object that would just stand there and watch them move and assemble into battle formation.
It was a war, a battle for their life on the line.
She had one task and that was the eradication of the intruders. And she was going to do it at all costs.
There was nothing that was going to stop her anymore in this half-destroyed place.
-Boooooooom!
She moved at a speed only a few of them could perceive and those who could not, were hiding in a corner, completely out of the range of the battle.
The pretty knight was not dealing with them yet, but it wasn’t because she couldn’t perceive them through the stealth items or beyond the magic barriers made with that strange rune magic.
It was pretty normal seeing this kind of power for her, it just reminded her of the old days when she used to fight the divine beings alongside her colleagues.
She was familiar with the ancient runes already; however, they weren’t the reason she was not going after their little miss Handler and bishop.
They weren’t fighting her, so as a knight who understood honor, she would deal with the ones who were fighting her first before she focused her attention on the ones in hiding.
The ones fighting her weren’t that fun, but they had good synergy with one another. And she was seeing this after a long time so, she liked this.
-Boooooooooom!
With her hold sword held in one hand, she moved like winds riding on the beams of light, leaving behind afterimages that were hard to differentiate from the original ones.
She was stronger than they had anticipated.
"Artifacts."
They had no choice but to use the artifacts that their employer had procvided them to deal with her.
{ "Oho? Elixirs, a Runebook, and even a magic array? You have quite some toys with you, hun?" }
She knew instantly what they had taken out. And cared little about those additions to their ire powers.
They were only mediocre at best before her. Compared to the ones she had ought in the past, they were only batter at their synergy with one another and the way they worked as a team, something those previous challengers had never been able to accomplish.
They could be called decent from the way they used their techaniques, weapons, and skills. Perhaps someone worthy enough to go against her had trained them.
She would have loved facing those people instead, however, they only had these little things.
She had to deal with them somehow-
-Thud!
{ "Hmmm? Did you just get better? Oh... is this the effect of the elixir?" }
The blows she was receiving till now did not do any damage to her.
Their sword Aura only tickled her bones and their magic only warmed the edge o her sword. It was nothing too fun... until a moment ago.
-Swiiiiiish!
-Oooooooong!
-Swiiiiiish!
-Booooooom!
{ "Oho? Your magic improved as well? Or is it from that spell book you are holding?" }
She was getting bored but now, it seemed like the challengers were really starting their real fight.
They were not so good with their powers, however, after drinking whatever dragon blood they did, they were now suddenly much better than they were a moment ago.
{ "Nice. Then let’s start for real~." }
They were stronger with the power of external items, however, it was only a temporary boost.
The effects of the elixirs would vanish soon and they only had a ew o them left after this one.
They had no unlimited supply of these precious things so they knew they had to end it as soon as possible if they wanted to live.
-Booooooooom!
She was going to kill them all either way, it was what her existence in this world meant.
They were merely her prey. However, for them, she was an obstinate to overcome.
"Get behind, everyone!"
"Heal!"
"No.3!"
"No.9 no! Don’t! Not yet!"
Their captain was on field so they only had their Handler to guide them right now. And they did not have time to think about their actions themselves, so her role was very important right now.
"Captain! Right, left, left, right!"
Like a conductor guiding an orchestra, she was guiding her teammates,a and when someone got injured, they came back to receive healing from the Bishop.
The bishop was also working right now, healing wasn’t the only thing he was capable of.
He was an illusionist as well. And his ability was going to come in very handy in times like these against a creature like that one.
She was a mage that can control and summon bone weapons and, in addition to that, she was a knight unlike any death knight they had faced until now, however, she was still am undead that could not naturally eel the light element.
Or the holy element as a matter of fact.
{ "Huhu, I see you are using some tricks now. It’s good-" }
-Swish!
-Boooooom!
-Bam!
They hit her. For the first time. A proper hit that actually did some damage.
{ "What? What did you-" }
-Booooom!
And it created an opening for the magic spell to get past her defenses.
-Swash!
Then they did not stop even though their physical bodies were screaming at them, aching, crying for some, even a little rest.
"Joker!"
-Ooooooooooooong!
They fought the for, with their lives on te line, with everything they had this time.
-Zaaaaaaa...!
They used Aura and recorded Runes in the Runebook, something strong enough to hand dealt with even the creatures of the island outside.
They used magic enchanted with the artifacts that they had received rom them, with potions that they were given, with the knowledge that they had learned form them...
They were fighting for themselves right now, however, every bit of their fight was only possible because the two of them made it possible for them.
They knew they were watching and that this was a test were they might die as well... but they knew even death would be necessary to pass this trial.
The deat knight tat can use magic, the pretty lady that still made their hearts falter, she was not something they would have ever even hoped to survive against if it weren’t for they the two who gave them the power and hope to look forward to.
If it weren’t or the two of them, they would still be rotting in the same hell hole doing the same thing, passing their time the same way they had until now...
They gave them light.
"Aghhhhhhh!"
So they at least had to repay them with their most sincere efforts.
{ "Ugh! You damn bastards!" }
They had damaged her enough to break the clothes like armor she was wearing.
They had broken a few of her bones as well and there was visible discomfort in the eyes of the being that had been smirking at them all this time.
"Now!"
They saw a possibility.
The sword in her hands was shaking at the end of their battle.
Her legs weren’t stable anymore.
Her charm had crumbled down and she was cornered.
Just one spell...
One last powerful enough blow and she was be out.
They would win. They could win... and they might have won for certain had the rune spell of Runebook the witch managed to finish had hit her.
{ "No! It’s not happening! Noooo!" }
Alas.
[The curtain that had been covering the other half of her face throughout their battle burned down at the desperate roar of the dying undead, and revealed a sight so heinous even the admirers of her charm suddenly had a look of disgust in their eyes.]
"I all phase..."
They did well, as El and Lucy had observed.
It was better than what they had thought they would show them.
She was the strongest of all the sub-bosses, and the most difficult to deal with so they expected them to fall back and ask for their help but, they did not do any of them.
And as the master of their house, El liked this progression quite well.
