Chapter 297: 297 Start of an Epic

[OP: ]

Their meeting with the Council of Mages was eventful.

They met them and talked with them privately after he showed them the new method that they decided to call [Luel output treatment method] or <LOTM> in short.

The council of mages was happy to help them spread their method out in the world, however, they still told them they would not take credit for their invention.

The council would protect the identity of the ones who developed this method, and they would not have to worry about anyone connecting this to them.

The academy would deal with the students on their part so that was that.

The visit to the ivory tower of the Global Magic Council was a fun event for them as they got to see the funny faces of all of those strong mages who wanted to use that method themselves for their own growth and at the same time, block the others from claiming the credits to the work in any way.

They all were going to use that method themselves and develop techniques and magic that would benefit them in various ways.

The world would profit from it in one way or another since the mages would do a good enough job to maintain and grow their influence.

As they do it, as they spread this special technique even more and people use it to create things and work that would advance this world and the Voice of the world, Lucy, the original creator of the technique would gain more influence in the Worldline.

The technique belonged to him and the Worldline already recognized him as the creator so as it spreads to the world and people know more about it, their Storyline would get influence and he would grow more.

They had already upgraded their authorities to [{( Lord )}] rank and from that point forward, they just had to increase their influence in the Worldline, create their territories, and manage them properly.

If they do it right, after reaching the required stat limits and gathering all the Authorities they were looking for, they would become higher beings and ascend to the higher realm.

But that was not what they were after...

They had a certain goal for today, tomorrow, and the day after tomorrow. And they must accomplish these goals within these three days if they want to produce the optimal outcome.

And for today specifically, they had to introduce the perpetrators to the world.

[ "El." ]

[ "Yes~!" ]

The world was already talking about the thieves that looted almost all of the most secure places in this world, in a timeframe that was practically impossible to describe.

They moved through all four continents in a mere six months and swept through all the big places, all the small places with big things, and hidden places that not even the most knowledgeable individuals of this world knew about.

Right now, assuming they were a certain organization, they were in possession of a mountain of treasure that practically made them the most powerful organization in this world.

They held power that those from the high society feared, they possessed resources that those from the economic sectors feared. They were just a comical group of characters for the common folks, however, since they had messed with those in higher positions, the upper class had spared no effort to portray these thieves as agents of darkness, or apostates of evil.

The public opinion was against them and the fact that they wore masks and strange clothing made the negative impression even worse.

People were afraid of them, the power and treasures they were in possession of at the moment.

Perhaps, that was the reason why some strange screens appeared in the sky in every corner of their world. Instead of being stunned by them or running away from the strange phenomena, everyone just stayed in their places and observed the large screens and the individuals being projected inside of them.

They knew them... or rather, it would be more appropriate to say they recognized the outfits and masks they all were wearing at the moment.

"Hey..."

"Aren’t they them?"

"Mama! Mama! Look! There’s something in the sky!" 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚

"Looks like something is going to happen now..."

"Their pledge! It was real!"

"It IS them, right?!"

The world had stopped in its place right now, some accidents occurred because of the distraction however they were accidents unrelated to them or what was going on at the moment.

"So they are actually doing it, hun?"

They watched them on the screens standing in their places, stretching their bodies as if they were preparing to do something.

The background was something like a green forest. The sky seemed to be too close to them so some smart people already guessed what was going on, where that bunch was, and what was going to happen from that point on.

"What the hell?!"

"How did they get there?! That’s Ainzcradel!"

"Did they use the teleportation gate?! How did those bastards use something like that?!"

"The mages! They must be colluding with these bastards all along! I knew from the start!"

Those of the high society were all in a bad state right now.

The appearance of these screens was concerning already but the fact that those bastards had already reached the grounds of Ainzcradel made things even worse.

{ "Take positions, everyone." }

They stood in the sole safe area on the sky island, surrounded by greenery and forest on all sides.

Some of them stood closer while the proximity between all of them was pretty much balanced.

The nine numbers and three patterns were standing before the world openly for the first time today.

Their identities, appearances, powers, or motivation behind doing the things that they were doing was unknown to the world, however, everyone knew why all of these people wearing those strange clothing and those attractive masks were after...

Their objective for being there was pretty clear to all those who knew what was going on in this world, or around them.

They knew what that bunch was doing in that place. They didn’t know how they reached that place without the help of the Gate of the Adventurer’s association.

However, they did not think about that.

[Ding!]

[< Worldline is detecting a strong stimulation in the area #321CF! A larger amount of Plausibility is being gathered in a single place! >]

[< Calculating... >]

[< ...! >]

[Ding!]

[< Presence of a new Epic’s formation has been detected...! >]

The two of them first received some personal pop-up messages, however, after the Worldline had recognized the formation of an epic, every single person in their world who was connected to the Worldline system received a simple message.

[< Someone is writing the first page of their storyline’s Epic! >]

And then, every living being existing in the same world as them, started hearing the voice of their world.

[ *The beginning of the story is born from the group of proud thieves, standing on the floating island in the middle of everything among the clouds, who did not discriminate when following their Dharma.* ]

There were countless storylines in the Worldline and countless storyline holders who only had one or two pages of their own Epic to their names.

Even some of the gods who possessed true {Omnipotence} and {Omniscience} only had a few epics and myths as a part of their own storylines.

[ *They were individuals scattered across the lands, brought together by two strings of fate, intertwined into a small thread, which later intertwined to create a rope so firm even celestial axe would have difficulty cutting it, while at the same time, so delicate that even a drop of darkness might have tainted the entirety of their existence...* ]

Storylines were the true weapons and powers of the higher Realms of the Worldline, something that determined the true power that one held aside from the stats and the ranks of their Authorities.

They were the powers that gods used, the power that angels and demons used in fights of the grand scales, to create things that were beyond mortal comprehension, to do things that were practically unthinkable, or to pass time as some of them liked to call it, perhaps appoint some interesting individuals as their pawns and play with them.

If they were strong enough, they could even create their own world and look over those worlds as some kind of supreme entity, however, it was still just a fun game to pass the time at the end of the day.

As higher beings and liberated souls who weren’t bound by the limitations of a physical body anymore, the higher beings could do many things to pass their time if they weren’t pursuing individual growth.

And, what things they could do, what things there could be, and how much one could interfere with the existing Worldline all depended on one’s core storyline, the branch storyline, as well as the Epics and Myths that were an inseparable part of the storyline itself.

They had started writing their own storyline a few months ago, and now, after doing many things that increased the rank of their storyline, they were writing the first page of their Epic.

[ *Their goal was the treasures hidden beneath the center of this very island.* ]

The two of them were there just to watch over their babies.

[ *As well as the unbeatable fortress that had never been conquered since its inception.* ]

They intended to help them if some extreme unforeseen event occurred. However... they had faith in their team.

Lucy knew they would do well if they did not want to receive a severe punishment from El once again.
