Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 296 Is that so?
[Lucy’s POV: ]
They were stunned right now and there was a clear amalgam of emotions bubbling in their darkened hearts.
They were not the best people of this world when it came to basic human decency or morality like things that depended on a person’s own point of view.
These people were not exactly bad people or villains of this story but they were antagonists who had their own personal beliefs and values.
"Lucifer..."
They were powers that were in charge of many things that were happening in this world and the powers that controlled the world of magic.
They were the authority holders of this world that every powerful nation had to consult when it came to the questions related to magic and fields of magic.
"Do you understand what you have created?" Kris asked me with a serious expression that had suddenly appeared on his face, and, along with him, similar expressions were appearing on many of their faces.
They were done fantasizing about how they could integrate this special technique into their own magic formulas and create new techniques.
’They are ambitious people that hold self-development above everything else.’
They would do many things if it meant getting better, stronger, or more influential. If needed, doing something to me and risking becoming enemies with the academy was also something they would consider if something like this technique was on the line here.
I knew this well... that was the reason I was here despite the raid schedules.
"I do understand what kind of changes this technique could bring to all the fields of magic, as well as the other fields unrelated to magic."
They underestimated my presence in this place and underestimated what we were presenting here.
They acted high and mighty but, in the end, what was present on this magical whiteboard humbled them.
They knew there was something more to me than just these visible good muscles. At the very least, if I was capable of writing this down on this board, I was capable of memorizing or completely understanding what this was.
And from how I had taken a new example from this very place, with the twelve of them as a model, something I knew they had noticed by now, they had figured out I actually understood what I was writing down.
This was a kind of knowledge that I might have actually created myself, they were now considering that possibility, however, they would need something more than just my words to believe someone like me had created something like this...
"However." 𝕗𝚛𝚎𝚎𝐰𝗲𝗯𝗻𝚘𝚟𝚎𝗹.𝕔𝐨𝕞
But we aren’t here for something like proving I was the one to create this.
"I know you all doubt how someone like me would have been the one to create something like this... and it is the right kind of thought process considering you might not sense any kind of Mana from me. But I don’t want you to believe me. This is not some masterpiece of a knowledge theory that I spent my lifetime after.
It’s not something I even want to burden myself with.
That is the reason we are here in the first place. To register this technique as an open source tool for everyone-"
"Stop right there, boy."
The lady sitting beside Kris spoke up for the first time with a deep voice. There was a strange power behind her voice, a power that made one submit before her against their will. But it was not good enough.
"Yes, lady Aurora."
She looked younger than the other two ladies present on the thrones, but in fact, she was the oldest person present in this entire room, and someone right under the archmage that El captured in terms of raw power.
"You want to make this technique public? Allow anyone who wants to use it? For free?"
"That is what we wish, yes."
The elder witch of Reality, the sorceress of eternal plains, and the person who technically was the reason the bastard sitting in the very center never got to do something too crazy for his advancement.
The reason this entire council of bastards was still maintaining their stance as a good organization of this world, and the only person among the twelve that both of us considered better than the rest of them.
"Are you serious? Do you really understand what it would mean...?"
She was curious right now, not surprised but curious.
She was the most racist person in this world who didn’t like anything that was not a humanoid.
She killed them outright or tortured them like El does with the one she did not like.
She did not have any particular interest in the demons either, but as long as they had two hands, two legs, and one head, she didn’t pay attention to them. Even if they might be destroying a village of humans, she didn’t really have anything to do with them if they weren’t going to help her with her progress.
She was the same piece of trash as the other eleven, however, she at least had a little of humanity in her despite being a witch.
She was better than the bastard in the middle so, I had no problem bowing before her.
"Yes, We do understand what it would mean, and we do not have any problems with that.
To tell you all the truth, this method came to me as an epiphany, something similar to a revelation from the heavens."
"...what?"
There was no real profit in taking the exclusive patents of this method and choosing the ones who could use it, giving them permission, and taking something in return for using our methods.
We had more than enough money to buy every single one of these two presents here, so the inferior resources of this council weren’t what we were after.
"So, how should I put it into understandable words... hmm... right.
It happened during the class the professor was taking was ongoing and he asked me a question related to enhanced output.
I was a little lost in thought so my attention must have been elsewhere so, the professor had to call me more than once.
Thankfully, my ears caught the calls of our professor and I came back to the present moment and observed the blackboard that was filled with many calculations and explanations.
He had presented a question to us and I had to answer the last remaining one... it happened the moment I looked at the blackboard and started thinking about the question itself." I paused to take a breath.
They were unexpectedly paying more attention to us than I had expected, lol.
The looks they had right now were something I enjoyed quite a bit. The one Kris had, especially, put a little smile on her face.
She was enjoying how they were super focused on this bullshit, trying to fathom what I was talking about, imagining the scenario in their own minds.
It was kind of funny, especially the reaction Kris had. It was worth the trouble of coming all the way up here.
"Images and numbers, words and phrases suddenly aligned together and formed the answer to the question the teacher had asked me, and I answered without much thought as my intuition knew the answer was pretty correct as well.
It was instinctive. I did not notice what the answer I had just answered even was until the professor asked me to answer how I had reached the answer.
The quick and precise answer to the complex question had stunned him, and then when I showed him and the rest of the class how I got it, they were stunned as well.
And, it wasn’t until I was asked to write all I had told them on the blackboard that I caught onto the fact that the question we had been solving all this time, was not something I would have otherwise answered so quickly.
It... was a miracle, I would say. A revelation from the higher beings that watch over us and protect us."
Exhaling deeply, I bowed to them, nodded, and stepped back to El and the professor.
"It was my knowledge but this technique is not something I made. We don’t want to limit this piece of knowledge when the great nature wants it to be known to all the people in the world who would ever need it...
It’s a gift from heaven, for not me or a few of us, but for every person in this world and beyond.
We know we cannot spread this to every person in the world on our own, thus we ask for help from the grand magic council and the twelve pinnacle of magical fields."
El and I bowed deeply after that Great speech, which had left every one of them speechless.
This whole bullshit about heaven, higher beings, and divinity was not impossible so they didn’t think what I just said was complete nonsense, however, even with my eloquent way of expressing it, they weren’t completely convinced yet.
"Don’t you expect anything in return for this knowledge though? You can earn as much as the empires with this knowledge, perhaps establish your own nation if you want with the money, resources, and connections you can form with this.
Don’t you want any of that? What is Your purpose for doing all this?"
Kris knew the materialistic world and understood how everything in the world was created with something someone else possessed.
He knew everything was about getting something in return... he wasn’t going to buy the charity perspective.
"Haaaa. Lord Kristen. I do not know how to express this, however, we love our peace. And we would like to maintain that peace of mind until our time to depart from this world arrives.
We don’t want fame and we don’t need riches.
All we selfishly want is our absolute freedom and peace. Everyone else can enjoy the little gift the heavens bestowed upon me."
I was looking right in his eyes with resolute eyes of my own, perhaps the only kind of response he understood in this world.
"Is that so?"
He can tell even if the previous bullshit was nonsense, this freedom and peace I was talking about was certainly something We truly wanted.
"Yes."
And the rest of them understood what We indirectly meant by this statement.
"I see..."
They were prideful people who cherished what belonged to them, however, what if something that belonged to all of them appeared and they made progress using that same thing that actually originally belonged to none?
What kind of diverse reactions could happen in this stable council if a pebble-like Technique was thrown down into their serene lake?
’We were here to see what they would do after hearing our declaration.’
It was going to be a fun debate for us to watch, and for them... this new opportunity was going to be something they couldn’t possibly miss out on.
