Twin Reincarnation: Epics Of The Worldline-Chapter 287 Four keys
[OP: ]
A group of thieves became active a few months ago and started stealing from places that had top of the line security systems, guards and lockers that were further protected by magic and special enchantment skills.
They had been flawless with their robberies and since they went after the most valuable thing in every place they set their eyes on, they did not steal everything that was present before them.
Thanks to this unique behaviour of these thieves, the media had found their promotion targets and many of the media outlets were focused solely on these thieves and the way they do the things, the way they operate, or the way their actions are planned out completely.
There were many debates over their identities but even with many rumors floating around, they had found no evidence pointing at a certain group or any individuals who could be a part of this organization.
The world was calling them (Shadow lurkers) right now, a fancy name that no one knew the origin of. And, after over half a year of their activities, they were finally going to go for their ultimate challenge according to certain reports...
{ "A. Asking permission for the initiation of the mission." }
{ "Report statement." }
{ "Southern continent, central area, Nation of Light, Underground fortress of Tixshild.
Operation entrance in sight.
Initiators: K, Q, No.4, No.7 in position. Technician: No.8 on standby. Battle units: No.9, No.5 in position. Conductor: No.2 awaiting orders." }
{ "J?" }
{ "Successfully infiltrated the facility, as always." }
{ "Good. Begin as planned." }
{ "Orders received. Initiating operation. Objective: Retrieval of items. Main goal: Retrieval of the last key." }
One needed four certain keys in order to open the special gate leading to the safe where all the relics and treasures were stored. And, they had been going around collecting these certain keys for the final task from the start.
The world saw them as thieves that had some ultimate secret goal and glorified their existence in a certain way, however, they were not bothered by the world’s words since with their identities, they had always hidden their truths from this world as well.
Initial thefts were just the start, a practice for the later stages that they were going to face.
Even right now, this ongoing operation in the underground fortress was also just part of their training phase according to the Hands, the ones above all of them.
{ "All teams. Initiate the operation." }
The southern continent, land of natural resources, riches, and wealth. The continent with the most resources in all fields despite its smaller size.
There wasn’t any great technological or magical advancement on this continent on its own, there was no great number of unparalleled strong individuals, or there was any unique weather, atmosphere, and terrain of this continent that could make the overall quality of life greater.
The southern continent was pretty normal, had all kinds of weathers and biomes one could find on the other continents, had a moderate amount of Mana, but, what made south the <Land of Gold> were the resource filled areas that were abundant with all kinds of things that the other powers of the world would desire.
These very resources were the main reason the south was also called the <Land of Trades> among the traders.
{ "K. Attempting redirection." }
-Ooooooooong!
"Hmmm... do you smell something?"
"No? But the temperature sure went down from what I can say... it’s windy as well... oh, could something have.."
{ "K. Redirection successful. Infiltrating through the frontal gates." }
{ "Q. Infiltrating through the back gate successfully. Casualty report: none." }
{ "Good. No.4, No.7 on standby." }
{ "No.7, No.4 already in positions." }
The kingdoms of the south were the wealthiest and their wealth was good enough to purchase an eternal loyalty of many of the individuals from various fields.
Additionally, it was also enough to build facilities like this giant fortress present under the surface, one that had giant walls enchanted with magic, soldiers that used to be famous adventurers from all over the world, systems developed by the greatest minds with all the creative freedom they needed in this world...
The few people in this world who knew of its existence called it (Black house of condemnation). A place filled with the worst of the worst criminals of this world, creatures no one was ever able to kill off completely, and beings of strange origin that no one knew much about.
It was called a dangerous place for all human beings, perhaps that was the reason they decided to hide a key to the gate in this place.
{ "All units in position." }
"Where did the guards-"
"There is a breach... we have a breach!"
"Damn it!"
"Alert the guards! All personnel in the surveillance room, listen up! Keep your eyes and ears open! They are here!"
{ "Three..." }
This fort was a hell for the criminals, and the residence of one of the absolutes of this world— the Jailer, an Archmage under the Sultan of the kingdom of Light, Khalasi.
{ "Two..." }
Most of the time, as they were informed, he stayed in the core of the fortress, in his special office, enjoying the best facilities the abundant money of the Sultan provided.
And, he was their target today as it was confirmed the key would be in his possession.
-Uuuuwwww-uuuuwwww-uuuuwwww!
"Hmm? What-"
"Damnit! Wake up bastard! There’s a breach!"
"ALL GUARDS! IN POSITION! INITIATE PROTOCOL THREE A!"
There were no other ’item’ of great value in this fort beside that key, so if the famous thieves of (Shadow Lurkers) were here, it only meant they were after the key.
There was nothing more valuable than that last remaining key in this place... at least, those people believed that.
{ "One." }
-Ptsssss!
"W-what the? Where did this fog come from?!"
{ "No.7, No.4. Go." }
{ "Aye aye." }
{ "No.9, No.5 in position. And No.9... keep the death count limited to the guards." }
{ "Kekekekekeke. Yes~ captain~. Of course~!" }
They were after more than just that key today. Something that was as precious as this key according to the White Hand.
"Report to Sir Jailor immediately! Report-"
-Swish.
-Dhum.
"What the? What just-"
-Swish.
-Dhum.
"Ummm..."
"Hehe, aren’t you going to act surprised~?"
"Aaaa..."
"Welp, looks like you are mute~."
-Swish.
-Dhum.
There were three certain individuals they had to pick up from this place, one of whom, ironically, was the very target they were after right now.
{ "Area one is cleared~!" }
{ "Identify yourself while speaking, dumbass. That’s the third warning already. I will have to report you soon." }
{ "What! No captain! No! Please! Anything but that!" }
{ "Then behave." }
{ "No.9, sir yes sir!" }
This place was a prison and there was a person, and a being in this place that was not supposed to be in this small place. Confined to the walls of matter and energy.
Their place was out in that vast world, beside the people they all were following.
Staying in this place wasn’t going to give them anything and since they were above the limited concept of death, instead of spending eternity in this confinement, it was better for them to enjoy the taste of the warm darkness and soothing light.
{ "K, area B3 in sight. Approaching the designated cell #O33." }
{ "J, entrance path cleared. Requesting backup." }
{ "Alright. No.2 take over. No.8, release." }
There was a fog covering the entire fortress already, however, right after their captain gave them the signal, they technician, their No.8 genius Gwen trained directly El, activated the mechanism through her personal system interface and turned the entire fog into a bloody red...
They had already infiltrated the facility, taken down the first line of defence, and the entire defence mechanism was also already in their hands.
They were controlling the giant fortress by themselves, and their people had also reached the mission locations.
{ "J reporting. Target in sight." }
{ "Stand by-" }
{ "Target knows about us. Engaging in emergency combat." }
{ "What? Damn it!" }
The King of Clubs, the Apothecary, was now standing before a normal looking prison cell where behind the normal looking door, he would see the most abnormal looking place. While the Queen was standing before a giant prison cell, the biggest one in this facility actually.
There was no door to this prison cell and only some cage like metal bars were blocking the entrance however, if she didn’t knew better, she would have undoubtedly walked into the deadliest kind of trap for any being with attributes of an insect.
[{ You... what are you? }]
She would meet a unique creature in this place. A unique kind of person that this queen of insects would have never imagined could possibly exist naturally.
"What...?"
She wouldn’t understand it at first, but she was going to meet someone special now, and, just like her, their King was also going to meet someone very special.
Someone so special they would become family in the near future.
Which was good, nothing to be worried about over here. They weren’t expecting them to go after prisoners so there were no security measures around there... but Friday’s life was in danger right now.
"Muhahahahaha~! They did say some cockroaches would crawl in here one of these days but to think you actually walked all the way in here on your own~! Hahahahaha~! How absolutely ridiculous~."
One of the few archmages of this world, a spell master and a tri-attribute rune interpreter pure mage, the Jailer, Joshua Hummingbird Francis Rajehya was already aware of their invasion and had been prepared to fight the invading forces that everyone called undefinable.
He was a powerful foe on the same level as the emperor of the west and the elder magician of the elves. A force that no mortal being could withstand on their own.
A power that was desired by many... but also the power that only followed the corrupted desires of riches.
"Oho~? What happened mister thief~? Tired already~?"
{ "Requesting active fight permission." }
{ "Damn it, hold on a minute! We are right-" }
"Ah~? Are you talking with your friends right now~? Are they on the way as well~?"
{ "Disconnecting communication temporarily." }
{ "What?! J?! Hey bastard!" }
"Hehe, they will come here, then I will catch you all~. Then I will collect the bounty all of those bastards have placed on your heads-"
"That’s enough trash talk for today, Joshua."
He was a mage that had crossed the limitations of a human a long time ago. That was the reason he was called the <Mage of golden words>.
But his opponent was no mere thief this time.
-Oooooooong.
"Let’s play the real game."
A long time has passed since Friday experienced what it meant to be powerless in the Hades, the realm of collisions.
He has learned and trained and gained new strengths since then, one of which...
"Runes...?"
Was the power to bend the very fabric of reality with texts and words that this very world recognized.
