Chapter 284: 284 Redeeming plaque

[Lucy’s POV: ]

Luck is a very unique power that we can directly compare with Probability, something that propels the eternal exciting Worldline.

There are different powers that run and maintain the Worldline like the central brain, the system, and the Laws but the probability is a kind of element in the Worldline that maintains an element of compartmentalized powers not giving any kind of sovereignty authority to anyone. 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝒆𝔀𝒆𝙗𝓷𝒐𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝓸𝓶

Not even the Worldline itself.

’That’s why there is a chance for any powerful being to fall from their position, or for a mortal being like us to rise to the ranks of those higher beings.’

And that’s why Luck is an element attached to every intelligent being as a statistical characteristic...

It is a direct indicator, a possibility, a ray of hope that in whatever situation one is in, in whatever scenario, or in whatever circumstances... something positive could happen.

That something completely unexpected, something that would not only take away all their worries and problems, but something that could possibly elevate them from their current position, could happen.

’That’s one of the reasons I believe in the strange power of Luck. In the strange power of probability granted to every single element of the Worldline.’

There are times when this power shines and does its work, while on the other hand, there are also times when even while having a concentrated flow of luck in a place, nothing practically extraordinary happens.

’Just like this time.’

We opened hundreds of reward boxes and yes, we got many good things. A lot of Oz and skill points and useful things that we would use for covert in the upcoming future.

But, aside from a few times, there was nothing particularly exciting.

’We didn’t get a jackpot, or a lucky rush, or anything similar.’

There was no one of the best rewards that could be called a cause for celebration so I knew El was unhappy about all of this.

’I didn’t like how this was all so unsurprising either.’

Perhaps, that was the reason when opening this final and most important reward box, I focused all my attention on getting something good enough that would make her happy.

Something that will make her smile widely and jump around the place with an excited expression.

Something she can have and ultimately, something she would like.

I wished for it, with all my heart... and when I opened the box, perhaps because of my prayers, the effects of this lucky environment, my will, or perhaps it was just a coincidence but, the phenomenon that occurs only when you get one of the best possible things from the box you’re opening took place around us.

-Ooooooooong!

The sky turned gold, there were colourful rays of light piercing the sky, making it look super gorgeous, and there was also this one larger light that fell exactly on us like a spotlight.

El got excited as she saw this since the location we were in made this entire phenomenon appear even more spectacular.

There was a confused but awestruck look on Eva’s face, while Friday just admired the sky above him.

Evan Raz had a greedy, star-filled look in his eyes... bastard was more excited about whatever was happening than any of us.

But, it was understandable.

The box I had just opened was the best reward box one could get in this Worldline. Not even some of the gods get the chance to open one of these boxes in their long life cycles.

’Only a few fortunate people ever get the chance to open a rainbow grade reward box, and even fewer, only a handful of people have ever gotten lucky when opening these boxes and got the best possible rewards from it.’

Those who got one of the best rewards of the rainbow crystal box are well-known people of the Worldline in current times, and almost everyone interested in these reward boxes or any kind of gacha knows about these special people.

[Ding~!]

[Congratulations! You have obtained one of the best rewards from the highest-grade reward box!]

The entire atmosphere around us changed all of a sudden and, as it did, both of us knew all of the Worldline was going to know about us soon enough now.

[Ta-Dang~!]

[< Worldline has detected a grand achievement in your actions until now! >]

[< Calculating the data of ’Reward box opening event’. >]

[Ding!]

[You have received: 1,500,000 Oz.]

[You have received: Worldline [IT Club] invitation.]

[You have received: Redeem plaque.]

[You have received: Crystal of Origin.]

[Ding!]

[You have obtained a Rainbow redeem plaque!]

[You are the sixth person in the Worldline to possess a Rainbow redeem plaque now!]

[Ding!]

[< Worldline has detected additional achievement! Calculations for the additional achievements are being calculated! >]

The box opened, and there were only three things inside of the colourful crystalline box...

A black square card that seemed to be the blackest thing anyone could ever imagine, a transparent crystal that did not seem to be anything special and all, and lastly... a colourful coin-like plaque of twelve-centimeter diameter shining the brightest in the entire bunch of things.

"Lucy... this...?"

The black card was something no one can get without the will of the Worldline, or through a hefty donation so it certainly was one of the best things we got today. The crystal as well would be very, very helpful to my sword.

However, both those things were nothing before the third and one of the rarest items in this entire Worldline.

"Well, damn."

In all of our time, we played this world as a game, in all those turns and runs we had played in the past, after opening countless reward boxes, after spending an absurd amount of resources and money behind these reward boxes for just the special ’plaques’ that we get from them... even after opening hundreds of thousands of these boxes, there was only one time, only one instance where we got our hands on a rainbow redeem plaque.

It was one of the rarest known things in the entire Worldline, every possessor of these plaques were beings of great authority right now, and even those things on one side... just getting lucky enough to obtain this plaque, meant the start of something we weren’t expecting anytime soon.

[< A famous individual in the Worldline area #321CF has obtained the highest ranked [Redeeming plaque]. >]

[< It has been judged that the individual possesses prior qualifications for ascension. >]

[< It has been judged that the individual now in possession of the plaque does not possess an adequate physical body for ascension. >]

[< It has been judged that the individual now in possession of the plaque possesses adequate achievements. >]

[< As the owner of the highest grade redeeming plaque, the individual could not live in the mortal realm for much longer. >]

"So it starts from here, hun?" El came beside me and took out the shining plaque from the pretty box.

"Unexpected, but yes."

[< *Beginning of a [Central Storyline] has been detected. The individuals in question will now be observed thoroughly.* >]

The beginning of the central storyline was also called the start of an individual’s beginning towards divinity.

’And by divinity, I don’t mean the gods that the people of this world price in temples.’

The divinities are the spectators existing in the three highest ranking realms of the Worldline, those holding {Omniscience} and {Omnipotence}.

[Epics] are swords for them, the [Myths] are like powerful magic spells that can destroy enemies with their mere appearance.

And, in the center of it, all are their storylines, the medium through which they maintain their existence as divine beings, harvesting faith and belief, emotions, and recognition of worldly elements.

’We were going to start our own [Central Storyline] by causing a grand sensation all over this world after killing the dragon in the great forest where Nes’ family resided.’

It was going to be a great tale that people would talk about for years and years and, since we planned to do it right in the middle of one of the most important cities of the empire, it was going to be our foundation for the (Fall of emperor) epic.

It was a good plan, but now that the Central storyline has started already, everything we do from now on will be part of our storyline.

[< As the base reward, unique title: <<Possessor of sixth rainbow plaque>> will be granted to ID: Lucifer. >]

[< As the base reward, <Seventh authority> will be granted to ID: Lucifer >]

[< As the base reward, unique title: <<Swordmaster with the viral white sword>> will be upgraded to [Silver] rank.]

[< For the ’Reward box opening event’, all individuals will receive individual rewards based on their contribution to the achievements. >]

[< Further unique achievements will be calculated... >]

The messages after that were mostly going to be about some stuff that everyone gets or something about the achievements so skipping that part...

[ "We have seven authorities already." ]

[ "Kekeke. Amazing, right?" ]

She got her seventh authority when she revived him along with those markings and some other things, while I got it after getting this special rainbow plaque.

Both of us had seven of them already, and we hadn’t even started working for them specifically so, this was good. Very good even.

’We should get ten authorities much earlier than we had expected and with them, we will get the right to create our own constellations along with the special celestial skills.’

This will make future proceedings easier and we should be strong enough to kill the emperor and the pope with that much.

’Both of those ancient bastards were strong as hell, so we will need that much strength.’

Authorities, items, artifacts, and skills were only going to aid us.

Without enough raw power to stand against those monsters, we weren’t going to put even a scratch on them.

That much was certainly a fact.

[ "So then, what now?" ]

She looked at me with a serious expression since the situation had turned out to be like this. But, there was nothing too bad about this.

[ "We do it faster, and we go at it more aggressively." ]

With these powers, and the storyline standing on our heads, we couldn’t take it half-heartedly anymore.

[ "Let’s get serious, El." ]

[ "Hmmm... give me a wish and I will-." ]

[ "You know well that’s not gonna happen." ]

[ "Tsk. Bastard." ]

Even if she doesn’t want to get serious and work more than what she is doing nowadays, she will have to do it since she knows better than me what it means to mess up the core storylines.

We will have to work, and... it was inevitable.

<So... nya. Any thoughts on selling that plaque to me? Or that invitation? I will take the crystal as well if->

"Fuck off, bastard."

Raz was going to get a beating from me one of these days.

His authority as a [{( Count )}] wasn’t going to work in his favour for long anymore.
