"Lu!"

Miss Eva hugged me as soon as I approached them with a glad expression on her face.

Whatever happened there must not have been a pleasant experience for her, I understand that much, but... it’s all fine now since she was back.

"It’s alright Miss Eva. It’s all fine now. There’s no need to worry about any of that. You are back to us... and that’s all that matters."

Hugging her back with a relieved expression, I hugged her back. And after we stayed like that for a moment, she realized me.

"You’re fine, right?" She asked with a concerned look, making me chuckle helplessly.

"What would happen to me now? I was just sitting around here in this safe, pretty place all this time while you were the one fighting for your life in that hell-like place."

She had not looked around all this time so she did not notice this beautiful garden or the night sky above us.

But she did after my reply.

"Wow..."

And was astonished by all of it.

"What’s... what’s this place, Lu? Where is this?"

The garden, the freshness in the air, the view above us, the view in the front, the waters meeting the clouds. It was an ethereal sight, something few people in the world would ever be allowed to witness.

"A special place."

Giving her a smile and a nod, I gave her a moment to savor the scenery before her.

"This is gorgeous..."

"Of course, and it gets better during dawn and dusk."

The time before sunrise and sunset is the only reason we like this place so much. There are much prettier places all over the Worldline with better views than this, but still... this place is the most special among all the other ones.

"Really...?"

"Haha, you’ll see soon enough."

The night has almost come to an end.

Dawn would soon arrive and the waters would soon become blue, while the sky would be painted gold once again.

There was a little more than an hour left for that so, until then, we could chat peacefully... but before that.

"Can I ask you something though?"

There was something I had to know. Something that will decide if this bastard stays on this island with us or not.

I was already looking at AJ so she knew what I wanted to know.

I was looking at him, and since he was back to his original adult self, he was taller than me.

His deep blue eyes were looking straight at me, with a little envy, mixed with a little fear towards me.

She knew why he saved her, and she knew I wasn’t going to buy the BS crap that he loved her. That might have been the secondary reason but from how much I knew this bastard, I knew he wanted to die in that place more than he wanted to save her.

He looked at her, and as he had expected, even his new looks that might enchant any woman out there just by a look, his charm that would make women throw themselves at him, meant nothing to her.

Charm was something that certainly made someone attracted to another, but to those who had already given their heart and soul to someone or something else, charm meant nothing.

"I want to go on a date with her." He answered with a confident look and finally looked me in the eye.

I knew he already knew Eva belonged to us. And she liked it that way as well.
