Tribal Sign-In: Immortal At The Start-Chapter 210: The Awaited Departure
Rion wore his white shirt, black leather vest, black fabric pants and black hunter boots. He then tied his hair into a ponytail and stepped out of his hut.
About half an hour later, the bold sun shyly peeked at the mountains, and the four of them quietly left the tribe’s settlement.
Even though they were stealthy in their approach, all of them knew that the tribe would soon learn about their departure.
However, that was better than having to deal with the stubborn tribe members, who would’ve either asked them not to leave or would’ve demanded to tag along.
As they moved through the eastern forest, Rion walked at the front, his Zone actively notifying him about everything that was happening around them.
Zaelyane and Dora were behind him, and at the rear end was Yuura, who had an annoyed expression on his face.
The reason behind his annoyance wasn’t unexpected. "Ugh! Why the hell do I have to wear such uncomfortable clothes?!"
"You’ll get the hang of it," Rion commented, eyes still locked at the front.
"Ugh!" Yuura slumped his shoulders in defeat and mumbled, "Wouldn’t it be better for us to run?"
Rion nodded. "It would be, yeah. But Dora hasn’t walked for days so we can’t just run... once her body is a bit more stable, we will run to our run towards the stops."
Hearing his words, Dora lowered her head and mumbled weakly, "I am sorry..."
Yuura shook his head and said, "What are you saying sorry for? It’s not like you had a choice."
Rion smiled, and Dora nodded, guilt still flickering in her eyes.
After a few steps, Yuura asked, "These stops you talked about, what are they again?"
Rion took out a detailed map of the scouted eastern forest and explained, "After finishing my talk with mother, I went to Marin to tell him about the route we are taking and as the scouts had already mapped the eastern forest quite deeply, he suggested the five locations where we can make our stops..."
"The first location isn’t so far away because we would be walking for today... and the other four are at a greater distance."
"Oh..." Understanding dawned on Yuura, and he asked, "How much time do you think it will take us to reach the closest human settlement?"
"As we won’t be moving during the night... it should take us at least a week," Rion answered with a thoughtful expression.
All of a sudden, Rion stopped in his tracks, and a dry chuckle left him.
Zaelyane raised an eyebrow and mumbled, "What’s wrong?"
Shaking his head, Rion muttered, "It’s nothing."
All three of them frowned, looked at each other and began to follow behind him.
A faint smile took hold of Rion’s lips, and he mumbled inwardly, ’You always act so tough, yet you are still keeping an eye on me... hah.’
As they walked, Rion guided their path, and if they were blocked by the trees or the boulders, he simply threw them aside.
The weak ether beasts that were able to sense the danger didn’t even attempt to go near them, so their journey towards the first stop was unsurprisingly smooth.
During this, Rion made sure to collect all of the rare herbs that were in their path and his reason was fueled by the knowledge that he had obtained in his past life.
’There has to be a noble with a daughter or son who has an incurable disease that can only be cured with one of these herbs!’ He remarked inwardly while picking up a green single-leaf stalk that had yellow swirls all over it.
Dora tugged at Zaelyane and asked with a puzzled expression, "Why is he doing this?"
Zaelyane watched Rion put the herb in his leather pouch and mumbled, "All of these are rare herbs... he must be collecting them for something important."
’You are damn right!’ Rion commented inwardly and continued to move forward.
A few hours passed, and Dora mumbled, "The tribe should now be aware that we have left." 𝒇𝓻𝓮𝓮𝙬𝙚𝒃𝒏𝓸𝙫𝒆𝙡.𝓬𝓸𝒎
The others nodded, and she mumbled with a dejected expression, "I didn’t even tell my parents about this..."
Hearing that, Rion bit his lips and his steps quickened by themself.
Rion was the one who told them to leave quietly, and that was also what Yuura and Dora had kept hidden from their parents.
For Yuura it wasn’t a big deal. His parents were just as devoted to Rion as him so for them, their son was doing something of immense pride, but Dora’s parents weren’t that deeply devoted to him and considering that Dora was currently sick they wouldn’t accept her leaving.
"You all have to stop thinking about the tribe... think of where you are going and what you can gain from this journey. Both of you are squad leaders and have enough power to destroy a village by yourself. You mustn’t let your heart be weakened by worry — you should strive to take another step towards your dreams," Zaelyane stated with an even expression.
For the next few minutes, the only sounds that reached their ears were their steps, the chirping of the birds and the flowing water.
Rion stopped. ’Flowing water?’
Because of the last event, he was in a daze and wasn’t focusing on his Zone.
He once again focused on his Zone, and after finding the water source, he raised his arm and said, "There’s a stream about a hundred steps to the left."
They nodded, and all of them began to walk towards the steam.
As they did so, sounds of hurried steps and hoofs slamming into the ground reached them, and their gaze fell on the ether beasts that were running away from the stream.
All of them looked at Rion, who simply shrugged and walked over to the stream.
"I’ll fill the pouches," he said.
"Why didn’t you just fill them back at the tribe?" Zaelyane asked with a frown, and Rion replied, "There was no point, I didn’t want to have any unneeded weight."
That was what he told her, but he actually had the water pouches in his inventory, as for why he was doing this act? He simply didn’t want them to question him when he suddenly took out pouches full of water.
It was a useless act, and the only reason he was doing it was — fun.
