Chapter 355: Chapter 355; Conducting Auditions 2

Satisfied, she gave a small nod. She was glad that they truly listened to her and they have been orderly since morning.

"The judges will evaluate everyone’s talent fairly," she continued. "They’ll vote, and so will I. I’ll join you all through live calls from time to time to check on the progress of the entire activity. Let’s make this fair, clean, and inspiring."

Her smile warmed again, softer now.

"I wish you all the best..... Whether you win or not, this will be your first step forward. Don’t waste it. You have a chance, and these chances would only show up once in a lifetime."

She raised her hand in a small wave. "Now, show us what you can do."

The screen dimmed slightly as the broadcast ended, leaving the halls buzzing with renewed excitement and nervous energy. Now, everyone believed in themselves and they knew whatever they had to offer had to be the best of the best.

Inside the quiet office, Tang Fei sighed softly and leaned back, setting the laptop aside.

Huo Wu looked up from his tablet. "Everything went smoothly, Madam. The feeds are stable in all halls." 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮

Tang Fei nodded gratefully, "Good. Let’s keep watching. I want to see what kind of stars we’ll find today."

The live feed is split into five screens across Huo Ting Cheng’s laptop, each one showing a different hall in Centurion’s grand complex.

Huo Wu sat cross-legged beside her, notebook in hand, silently typing down timestamps and names.

The first performances were about to begin.

HALL 1; ACTING AUDITIONS

On the top-left screen, stage lights warmed to a soft amber glow. A row of judges sat behind a sleek black table, scripts in hand.

A young woman in her early twenties stepped into the spotlight, nervous but determined.

"Name?" a judge asked as they checked her out.

"Xu Qian. Applying for the role in The Locked Garden."

Tang Fei leaned forward, interest flickering in her eyes.

Xu Qian opened her script and began. Her voice trembled at first, the line of a girl realizing her world was closing in, but as she spoke, the trembling steadied. Her eyes glistened under the light, her tone cracking only at the right moments.

"You said the garden was beautiful... but you never told me it had walls."

The words echoed through the hall. Even through the screen, Tang Fei felt the emotions, that were so raw, unpolished, but real.

When the girl finished, silence followed. One judge clapped first, then another followed, pleased with her acting; she only needed a polishing of a few things here and there.

Tang Fei’s lips curved slightly amazed with so much talent that was out there, "She’s green, but she feels real."

Huo Wu jotted down her name, "Noted, Madam."

HALL 2; SINGING AUDITIONS

The second feed showed Hall 2, larger, bathed in soft purple lighting, with a standing microphone at the center of the stage.

Dozens of hopeful singers lined the walls.

A tall young man stepped forward in a simple black shirt, his expression calm.

When the music began, he didn’t rush. His voice started low, almost like it was a whisper, and then swelled with emotion.

The song spoke of loss, of someone waiting in the rain for a person who would never return. His tone carried warmth and ache, filling the hall without strain.

Tang Fei closed her eyes briefly, listening to that soothing song and tone his voice was melodious, not too coarse or too fine.

When the song ended, she said quietly, "He’s not just singing, he’s remembering." She could feel the amount of emotion poured into the song.

Huo Wu nodded, writing it down: Singer 04; emotional depth, and clear tone.

HALL 3; DANCE AUDITIONS

In the third window, the energy shifted entirely.

Hall 3 pulsed with music. Stage lights flashed white and blue as four dancers took the floor.

Their choreography was sharp, contemporary blended with street, but it wasn’t just technical. There was a story in it. The lead dancer moved with urgency, as though trying to break free from invisible chains.

The audience clapped in rhythm.

Tang Fei smiled faintly. "They’ll be good for stage visuals. They tell stories without words."

"Noted," Huo Wu murmured, pen moving swiftly.

HALL 4; MODELING AUDITIONS

Hall 4 carried a different kind of silence, the kind that hummed with judgment.

Spotlights traced a glowing path across the runway.

The first model, a woman in a flowing silver gown, walked with grace. But it was the second contestant who caught Tang Fei’s attention, a young man in casual clothes, not overly handsome but strikingly composed.

He didn’t pose extravagantly or force his expressions. He simply walked, steady and sure, his gaze fixed forward.

The judges whispered among themselves.

Tang Fei nodded once too amazed, "Presence. That’s what sells a brand, quiet confidence."

HALL 5; HOSTING & VARIETY TALENT

The fifth screen flickered to life, a bright, open stage with a microphone stand and a mixed crowd of talents. Comedians, emcees, storytellers, all waiting nervously.

A young woman with round glasses stepped up. Her voice was clear, her tone quick but warm.

She began introducing imaginary guests, switching voices and expressions within seconds. The hall burst into laughter, her humor gentle but clever.

By the time she bowed, the judges were smiling.

Tang Fei chuckled softly, covering her mouth. "She’s natural. Variety needs people like her, someone who makes the audience feel safe."

"Yes, Madam..." Apart from responding to her, he had another job of noting down the names of the contestants Tang Fei was pleased with.

"Actually, I should be there... But I just fell asleep, I feel like my health isn’t that good!" She softly hummed thinking as Huo Ting Cheng watched her and listened to their conversation.

"You just said you are tired and you needed to rest, madam... Probably, too much exhaustion from last night’s events and you slept really late last night..." He could only find excuses; if she wasn’t remembering, then it wasn’t in his place to say anything.
