Transmigration; A Mother's Redemption and a perfect Wife.-Chapter 350; Audition of talents
As Huo Wu moved to leave, he paused, his expression shifting. She placed a separate, slimmer folder on the desk.
"Madam, there is another matter. We’ve received... inquiries upin I don’t know if you would like to hear about it..."
Tang Fei glanced up curiously, "What kind of inquiries are those?"
"They are from actors and singers who are currently in the industry," Huo Wu explained, his tone lowering. "Well-known and rising talents alike, all bound by contracts with other companies. Most were blacklisted or shadow-banned for refusing to comply with certain ’unspoken terms’ of private dinners and under-the-table deals."
The air in the room seemed to be still. Tang Fei listened, her gaze intent.
"Their careers were buried. Some are seeking help to terminate their contracts; others are too fearful to contact us directly. They are talented, Madam. They simply lacked protection and a platform to showcase their passion and talent."
Tang Fei’s fingers are still on the desk, thinking through, in such an economic crisis country, anything was possible when it came to the entertainment circle. "They were silenced for saying no."
"Yes."
"Have our legal team intervene directly," Tang Fei said, her decision immediate and firm. "Quietly purchase their contracts. Ensure full background checks have been done, I want no hidden liabilities or fabricated pasts. If their records are clean, we will take them in."
"The other companies may resist," Huo Wu cautioned.
"They will not risk open conflict with the Huo Conglomerate," Tang Fei replied, a thread of steel in her voice. "Alert our PR team to prepare, but proceed with discretion. No one’s future should be stolen for refusing to be compromised."
"Understood, Missus..." With a final, respectful nod, Huo Wu exited to execute the orders.
Alone for a moment, Tang Fei let her gaze drift to the window, where the sea met the sky. The scale of it all settled upon her, the staff, the facilities, the promotions, the sheer cost of building not just a project, but a sanctuary meant it would cost her a fortune, and still not know if it would give her any returns.
She turned and her eyes met Huo Ting Cheng’s from the balcony through the sliding glass door that went from floor to ceiling.
She got up and strode over to the sliding doors dragging them to the side.
The moment Tang Fei stepped onto the balcony, the casual corporate conversation ceased. Huo Qi, Secretary Li, and Dr. Zu Zhi instinctively straightened, their postures shifting from relaxed to respectfully attentive. But Tang Fei had eyes only for the man seated in the center of it all.
She strode over to Huo Ting Cheng’s lounger and, without a hint of hesitation, settled herself comfortably into his lap. His arms, as if moving on their own primal instinct, encircled her waist, holding her securely against him. The possessive gesture was so natural it was almost chilling, given his earlier declarations.
"And what are you guys all plotting out here so seriously? I want to hear it too," she asked, her voice light and teasing as she glanced at the other men eying her curiously. "It looked like a secret war council from inside."
" We were discussing just business, Missus," Secretary Li was quick to reply, offering a polite smile. He had gotten a host of what transpired in the office and Huo Ting Cheng broke down.
"Boring business, as usual!" Huo Ting Cheng murmured, his voice a low rumble against her ear. His gaze, however, was sharp as he looked over her head at Huo Qi, a silent command to dismiss the others.
Taking the hint, Huo Qi gave a slight nod, "If you’ll excuse us, President Huo, Madam Tang. We have matters to attend to." With that, he, Secretary Li, and Dr. Zu Zhi retreated gracefully back into the pentoffice, leaving the couple alone on the balcony.
Once the glass doors slid shut, Tang Fei relaxed fully against Huo Ting Cheng’s chest, tilting her head back to look at him. "You seemed so tense earlier. Is everything alright? Is there a problem?"
He looked down at her, his expression unreadable for a moment before it softened into a mask of indulgent calm. "Everything is fine now," he said, his thumb tracing idle patterns on her hip... "Seeing you working, it’s a distraction in itself."
She smiled, a playful glint flashing through her eyes, "Oh? Is my passion that captivating, Mr. Huo?"
"Everything about you is captivating," he replied, his tone dropping low, laced with a dark, genuine intensity that went beyond simple flirtation. It was the truth, and it was the very root of his problem.
She laughed softly, a warm, happy sound that seemed to momentarily push back the shadows clinging to him. She nestled closer, her fingers playing with the collar of his shirt. "Well, since you’re so captivated... I have a business proposition for you."
"Oh?" One of his eyebrows arched in amused interest, "And what might that be?"
She took a small breath, her teasing tone mingling with genuine seriousness. "My project... It’s huge. Bigger than I ever imagined. The costs for the facilities, the staff salaries, the accommodations, the promotions... It’s astronomical." She met his gaze squarely. "I think I need a loan. A very, very large one. Without money, this would only turn out to be nothing but a farce.
A faint, intrigued smile touched his lips as he naughtily smiled, "A loan? From me?"
"Who else would I ask from?" she countered, her face wildly smiling as Huo Ting Cheng watched her, "You’re the most powerful banker I know that exists."
"And what," he asked, his voice a low, velvety challenge, "do you offer as collateral?"
A mischievous sparkle lit her eyes. She leaned in until her lips were inches from his, her voice dropping to a whisper, "How about myself... I and Myself."
The air crackled between them. The offer, made in playful seduction, echoed with a terrifying literalness in the depths of his mind. Herself. It was all he had ever wanted to claim.
