A village can’t be a village without people and Alayna wanted the place to look very lively as soon as possible.

There were so many things that she needed to do before opening the village to the public. As she was the owner of the village, no government in the future will take this place from her. the village was like a small independent country and whatever rules she comes up with were all legit.

Alayna had great plans for the village and the first thing on the agenda was to buy slaves that will work solely for her and help improve the overall welfare of the village.

These slaves will become the first villagers of Athalia and as long as they work hard and contribute well to the village, she will give them back their freedom and let them live freely.

She was also expecting that the village itself will attract a lot of people over and she couldn’t wait for that to happen.

So, Alayna began to come up with several laws that every villager should follow socially and legally.

SOCIAL RULES

1. No discrimination.

2. Live harmoniously.

3. Keep the village clean.

4. Abide by all rules on all aspects in the village as well as outside.

5. Do not steal or kill (punishable by law and punishments will be very harsh.)

She wants everyone to live harmoniously and without discrimination. She also hopes that the prison she built will never be used in this village at all.

Some other rules and regulations were still needed and they pertain the labor force rights (employee rights and so on), and housing rules, e.g., in Athalia village, the owner owns the land, and residents will rent the land and pay tax to the owner.

Alayna practically spent a few days writing all sorts of laws, and doctrines for every department in the village and this included the educational sector as well. As her education system was different from the one in this world, things needed to be sorted out carefully.

Merita who saw the school also wanted to study at the school and as long as she likes it, then as the mother, she can only oblige. After all, she wants only the best for her children.

When everything was settled, Alayna took her daughter to Queens city, where she first showed up at when she arrived on this continent. Merita was quite amazed by everything that she was seeing.

Alayna didn’t tour the city well, so it was also an amazing opportunity for her. so, the pair of mother and daughter had a great time and checked into a hotel for their stay.

At the hotel, Alayna tipped a server who gave her some essential information that she needed. The next day, Alayna went to a certain shop where she bought a map of the city which she was going to use as a guide.

Her first destination was the slave market, she wanted at least one hundred slaves in total. As her village has skyscrapers and normal houses, she could accommodate around ten thousand people in total. And there was still some land that hasn’t been touched yet.

"Mommy, I am glad that you found us!" Merita couldn’t help but feel grateful when she looked at the slaves who were being sold as if they were vegetables.

If they had been found by someone else who wasn’t Alayna, Merita didn’t even want to think what would have happened to them back then. Although they lost their family, she was very glad that Alayna found them and she is now their mother.

She couldn’t ask for a better mom than her. As for revenge, she will leave that to Neal, after all the siblings never lost their memories and they know everything about it. As for the people that wanted to harm them, umphhh, they should just wait until they are strong enough.

Although she won’t be able to be of much help in the future, she is very confident that Neal will deal with the situation perfectly.

Alayna smiled and ruffled her daughter’s hair, "I am also glad that I found you. You mean the world to me!"

Her life changed for the better with the kids, she was no longer alone and she finally has a family. How can she not be grateful for meeting the kids?

Alayna and Merita walked further into the market, observing the slaves. Alayna also chatted with the sellers and after walking for a while, she stopped at one stall where she decided to make her purchase.

"Welcome, madam. How may I help you today?" the man asked in a friendly manner, if it wasn’t for the foxy eyes that were already scheming while looking at Alayna, she would have mistaken the man for some saint.

"I want to buy some high-grade slaves; do you have them?" Alayna went straight to the point.

The man’s eyes lit up and he quickly nodded his head, "yes, yes, I have those. How many do you want?"

"I will check them first and decide," she replied.

"Sure, please follow me!"

Alayna wasn’t worried about following a stranger to go and check on some slaves. With so much protection around her, how can she fear a measly martial apprentice cultivator?

The man wasn’t thinking of tricking this madam, as someone who had been in the shoddy business for a long time, he could tell with a glance if a person is dangerous.

Although this client of his didn’t emit any pressure and looked harmless, he didn’t think that things were that simple.

Alayna was taken to a courtyard a bit distance away from the market and it was in that place that she saw the slaves. There were around fifty of them and their age group ranged from eight to fifty.

"All of them are literate, learned and some of them also know some professions. Most of these slaves used to be commoners and nobles. They committed some crimes and it landed them in this situation. You won’t bear a loss if you buy them!" the man naturally offered some information and advertised his business.

Alayna was also checking the slaves and there wasn’t any problem with them on her side, "I will buy them all. How much is it?"

The man was ecstatic when he heard this, he quickly gave a quote and Alayna paid without haggling for a discount.

"Do you want help with transporting them over?"

Alayna shook her head as she glanced at the man, "no, I will deal with that problem later. Do you still have other slaves? It doesn’t matter if they aren’t high grades?"

The man was happier when he heard this and he nodded his head quickly, "yes, I still have them but they are around thirty."

"Okay, let me see them first and then we will talk."

Alayna then instructed for the slaves to remain in the courtyard in the meantime while she checks the second batch of slaves.

Alayna ended up buying all the slaves from the man, to be honest, some of them weren’t fit at all but she didn’t want to leave some. In the end, she took all of them, and luckily, she received a discount.

In the end, she bought eighty slaves, with fifty females and thirty males. Ten were over fifty years while twenty were fifteen and below. Everyone gathered at the courtyard and she received their slave contracts which she stored in her storage ring.

"Thank you for doing business with us. If you want more in the future, please contact us!" the man was very enthusiastic especially after the stock was cleared.

He gave Alayna the means of contact which she accepted, "sure, I will get in touch with you."

The man didn’t stay long as he took his men out of the courtyard. Alayna looked at the people that belongs to her with a smile and said, "I will be taking you to a place this very moment and I want you all to behave when you go there. Remember that you can’t run away from there, those that misbehave will be severely punished. Wait for us to finish our chores and we will come to you."

Alayna didn’t mean to scare them but she didn’t want to lose anyone due to carelessness or mischief. What if someone causes trouble and gets struck by lightning and dies?

She wasn’t in the mood of incurring losses at the moment.

The slaves kept their heads low but she could tell that they heard and of course, they feared for her life. Without saying a thing, Alayna teleported everyone to the village where she settled them on the school grounds before returning back to the courtyard.

The man who has been keeping an eye on the courtyard, only saw Alayna and Merita leaving by themselves. And when he was sure that the two were gone, he ran in to check and what he found made him tremble with fear.

’I need to let the higher-ups know of this! How can someone be capable of such a huge feat?’
