Transmigrated Into the World of Magic and Swords-Chapter 48: Tunnel
Chapter 48: Tunnel
Ren and Liam were walking in the tunnel with other awakeners. The tunnel was quite big with torches hanging on the wall, so they could see the passage clearly.
After walking for around fifteen minutes, a ray of light shone through at the end of the tunnel.
"Agghh! The treasure has been emptied by the people before us!"
"Damn it!"
"Fuck! I should have entered this abode faster."
"I told you to enter this abode faster. Look! We got nothing in this chamber."
"Shut up!"
"Hey, let’s go to the second floor immediately. I’m sure there is another treasure there."
"That’s right. Let’s go to the second floor now."
"I hope the people before us have not taken the treasure."
"I hope so."
Screams of annoyance rang out in the huge chamber.
Most of them were annoyed because the treasure had been taken by the awakeners before them.
"It seems like we are late," Liam said as he wore a sad face.
"Let’s go to the second floor too," Ren told Liam to walk faster because he did not want to make the same mistake.
They rushed toward the tunnel.
Like the previous tunnel, many torches hung on the wall, illuminating the passage.
The tunnel was much bigger, and the ceiling was higher than the previous one.
It was as if the owner of the abode had expected that many people would explore the second floor, too.
"Hey, it’s the people before us."
"Great! This means they haven’t taken the treasure in the second floor."
"I won’t let them take all the treasure this time."
"That’s right. This time, I will take the treasure!"
They walked faster because they did not want to lose the treasure again.
The people before them turned their heads when they heard the sound of footsteps, but they only looked at the newcomers for several seconds before returning their attention to the passage in front of them again.
"We need trap detection skills or magic to get through this tunnel." A red-haired man who looked in his fifties spoke abruptly.
His name was Ethan Morris, an awakener at Master rank.
Ethan was the leader of the White Snake gang.
He brought fifteen subordinates with him when he heard an abode suddenly appeared in the plain because he also loved treasure.
"Leader, none of us have trap detection skills or magic, so let’s wait for others to solve it first." A mature man named Bailey Adkins spoke abruptly.
Bailey was the vice leader of the White Snake gang.
Even though he was only at Elite rank, he was not an ordinary awakener.
He only lost once fighting against someone of the same rank so Ethan believed he would become a powerful Master rank awakener in the future.
"Alright." Ethan agreed with Bailey’s idea.
The blue-haired man, who looked in his sixties, touched his chin.
His name was Jasper Hill, an awakener at 3-star.
’Damn it! I don’t have a single magic to detect traps. Should I just fly through this tunnel?’
He did not make any preparations before coming to the abode because he happened to be at a restaurant when the rumor about the abode spread around.
"City mistress, I have a trap detection skill. Should I take the lead?" a mature man who looked in his thirties spoke in a low voice.
The mature man had red hair and black eyes.
The name of the mature man was Aidan Wiley, Master rank awakener and a colonel-ranked soldier in Nightshire City.
"Don’t use it yet." A gorgeous mature lady responded in a low voice.
The body of the mature lady was covered in golden armor.
However, her armor was unable to cover up her perfect figure.
Her breasts were big, and her legs were flawless.
Even though she wore a golden helmet, a large portion of her face was uncovered.
Her red hair cascaded down her shoulders like a waterfall, and her red eyes were as beautiful as red crystals.
She gave off a feeling of absolute charm, to the point that most men who saw her would fall for her instantly.
The name of the attractive lady was none other than Scarlett Rivera, the Ruler of Nightshire City.
Like the others, Scarlett came to the abode for treasure.
She wanted to use the treasure to make her city stronger, so she brought two of her subordinates with her.
"City mistress, wouldn’t it be better to get past this trap as quickly as possible? With this, we can monopolize the treasure on the second floor." A mature man spoke.
The mature man had brown hair and blue eyes.
Like Aidan, he was also Scarlett’s subordinate.
His name was Zac Porter, a 3-star mage and Brigadier General-ranked soldier in Nightshire City.
"I want to see their abilities first." It was a perfect time to know their skills or magic, so Scarlett didn’t want them to go through the tunnel right away.
Aidan and Zac did not say anything anymore.
"Hmm?" Ren slowed down his pace and checked the strength of the other awakeners using his system.
’There are ninety awakeners in the first group. So, in total, there are two hundred and forty awakeners in this abode now.’
Among these two hundred and forty awakeners, ten people were at Master rank, and five of them were at 3-star.
The rest were at Elite rank or 2-star.
There was no 1-star or Apprentice rank awakeners because they knew they would not get anything in the abode with their weak power.
As Ren was checking their strength, a group of three awakeners walked past him.
These three awakeners were people from the same batch as him.
They knew there were many traps in the tunnel, but they still walked bravely because they were sure they could avoid them.
"What a coward!" a red-haired man, who looked like the leader, stated.
"Keke. Isn’t it better? With this, we can take all the treasure on the second floor later." The yellow-haired man spoke.
"You should cut off your dick if you don’t dare to try to go through this tunnel. Keke." The black-haired man laughed as he insulted them.
Surprisingly, none of the onlookers were angry at the trio.
Some of them even cheered and encouraged them.
The trio was like guinea pigs in their eyes, so they did not take their words to heart.
’Let’s hope these three guinea pigs won’t die so quickly.’
All people who tried to pass through the tunnel died from the traps, so they hoped the trio would not die quickly because they wanted to know the locations of the traps or how to avoid them.
However, God did not grant their wish because the trio triggered the traps shortly after that.
"Aaagggghhhh...."
"Aaagggghhhh...."
"Aaagggghhhh...."
Blue flames shot out from the walls, burning the trio into ashes.
"Tch! What a useless guinea pig!"
"I knew they would die, but it was faster than I thought. Haha."
"Tch! They even died before we could learn anything! Useless!"
"Damn right! The trap area is fifty meters. They should go for at least twenty meters before dying. So fucking useless!"
Their expressions changed completely as they saw the ashes of the trio.
After expressing their annoyance, they looked at each other again.
’Who should be the next guinea pig?’
