Chapter 49: I Have Amazing Flight Magic

The awakeners looked at each other again, looking for the next guinea pig.

But even so, they did not order someone to walk through the tunnel directly because they did not want to fight each other.

Of course, it would be a different story if it was related to treasure.

However, there was no treasure in the tunnel, so they chose to stay out of trouble because getting injured before finding treasure was not worth it.

Ren, who looked at the passage before him, ordered his system to scan the tunnel.

The corner of his lips twitched when he learned that the ground was filled with traps. Even some areas only had one safe place the size of five adult fingers.

’It seems like the owner of this abode doesn’t want anyone else to take his treasure.’

From the information given by his system, the possibility of someone dying in the tunnel was ninety-seven percent.

Now, he finally knew why the first group stopped in the tunnel because he believed all the people who tried to go through the tunnel had died.

’All the traps are on the ground, so why don’t I just walk on air?’

A good idea suddenly popped up in his mind.

Ren could walk on air by performing the Divine Steps skill, so he decided to walk on air because he did not want to remember the locations of the traps.

"Liam, do you have a skill to go through this tunnel without touching the ground?" Ren told Liam that they would not trigger the traps if they did not touch the ground.

"I have flight magic called Riding Stones." Liam pretended to be a mage again.

The corner of Ren’s lips twitched.

’He is pretending to be a mage again?’

But even so, he did not say it.

"Alright. Then, use that magic to go through this tunnel. Remember, don’t touch the ground, or else you will die." Ren did not want Liam to die because he was his predecessor’s friend.

And having a friend was also good because, with this, he would not feel lonely.

"Don’t worry about it. My flight magic is Tier 6 magic." Liam did not ask Ren where he knew how to get through the tunnel.

He also believed Ren’s words instantly because Ren had never lied to his friends before.

As Ren stepped forward, the other awakeners paid attention to him.

’Finally, a new guinea pig!’

They were thrilled when Ren tried to go through the tunnel.

’Let’s just hope he won’t die quickly like the previous guinea pigs.’

They did not want him to die quickly because they could have passed through the tunnel if Ren had survived.

"Hmm?" Scarlett shifted her gaze from her subordinates to Ren.

’Does he have a skill or magic to detect traps?’

She kept paying attention to him because she was curious about his method of passing through the tunnel.

Ren ignored the gaze and kept walking.

When he was on the edge of the safe area, he stopped his footsteps.

’There is a trap right in front of me.’

He lifted his right leg and used the Divine Steps skill, walking on air.

Some of the onlookers were stunned because they did not expect him to walk on air.

’Is he a mage?’

They suspected that Ren was a mage because they had never seen Warrior class awakeners walk on air.

*Ting...Ting...

Heavenly sounds echoed as Ren walked on air.

When he was at the end of the tunnel, he walked down until he landed safely on the ground.

"He walked through the tunnel?"

"Does that mean there is no trap in the air?"

"Hey, why don’t we copy his method?"

"I agreed!"

"Yes. He did not trigger the traps when he walked on air, so the air was safe."

Actually, some of them had the same idea, but they were too afraid to execute it because they thought there were also traps in the air.

As they were looking at Ren, Liam’s voice rang out.

"Hey, open the path! Open the path!" Liam walked past them with a large, flat rock in his hands.

They instantly shifted their gaze from Ren to Liam.

’What is he going to do with that big stone?’

They did not have mind-reading skills or magic, so they did not know what he was going to do.

"Hey, pay attention to me. I will show you my amazing flight magic." After saying that, Liam threw the big stone at the end of the tunnel before finally jumping high and riding the rock to get through the tunnel.

Black lines formed on their foreheads as they saw what he was doing.

’It’s not flight magic! You simply only threw the stone and rode it!’

They shouted in their heads.

When he was about to reach the end of the tunnel, Liam jumped off the rock and landed next to Ren.

"Ren, what do you think about my flight magic?" Liam asked while wearing a proud expression.

Ren was at a loss for words.

However, he admitted that his adventure became more lively because of Liam.

"Let’s check the chamber and monopolize the treasure." Liam walked with a happy smile on his face.

Ren smiled softly before finally nodding his head.

’As I thought, having a companion is much better than traveling alone.’

He followed Liam from behind.

Scarlett shifted her gaze from Liam to Aidan. "Is your way of getting through this tunnel easier?"

"Sadly, their method is easier, city mistress." Aidan gave an honest answer.

"Then, let’s use their method to get through this tunnel." Scarlett chose the easiest method.

"Understood, city mistress." After saying that, Aidan took five arrows and shot them, each arrow stuck firmly in the wall.

Scarlett and her subordinates jumped high before finally using the arrows as stepping stones to get through the tunnel.

The other awakeners mimicked their method and used the arrows as stepping stones to pass through the tunnel.

Right after they stepped into a big chamber, the previous tunnel was suddenly destroyed, blocking their path to return.

But even so, they still acted normally because they believed they would find an exit at the deepest part of the abode.

All treasure places were always like that, so they were used to it.

"Hurry up and find the treasure."

"Huh? There is nothing in this chamber."

"What?! Why isn’t the treasure scattered on the ground and walls like in the previous chamber?"

"Search more carefully. I’m sure the treasure is hidden somewhere."

"Maybe there is a hidden door in this chamber."

"Hidden door? Do you mean a hidden room?"

"Yeah. That is what I means."

"I think so too. The previous chamber had treasure, so this place should have treasure too."

"Talk less and do more."

They paid attention to the ground and walls, looking for a hidden room.

Even though they did not trust each other, but at that moment, they worked together as if they were allies.

"Aidan, Zac, do you guys have skills or magic to detect a hidden room?" Scarlett inquired.

"Sadly, no, city mistress." Aidan and Zac responded in unison.

Scarlett turned her head to the left and right, looking for Ren.

Ren could find an easy way to pass through the tunnel, so she wanted to know if he had a method to find a hidden room or not.

’Hmm? What is he doing?’
