Transcending Realms With My Leveling System As A Demon-Chapter 107: Identity 2
More and more and more... These thoughts that Zylus had reshaped into his head again and again, as if his identity was unknown.
But he understood who he was... I mean, didn’t he?
Zylus and Victor both stared at each other, attempting to understand the severity of their situation. Bothof them paused.
’My parents. My power.’ Zylus put a hand to his face. "What. Am I?"
For some reason, he felt guilty. An emotion he had felt began resurfacing inside of him once more. The feeling of guilt. He always blamed himself; that was just the man Zylus is.
Zylus never bothered to make someone else carry the burden of having to face troubles or future troubles; he kept it at a limit with his own abilities. If someone died, and he wasn’t there, he would still feel guilty, because that’s one of his natural emotions.
’A life without guilt.’ Zylus thought about this for a while, until fully locking on, on to Victor’s gaze. "Guess, I’ll never know."
Zylus sneered, crouching down slightly, as Victor waited for Zylus.
"I’m faster than this," Zylus whispered, "False: Body Deception Technique."
[False: Body Deception]
[Technique Status: Processing]
[Success Rate: 50%]
Even though Victor seemed vulnerable, his speed avoided this fact. Zylus wasn’t the only one moving at the speed of light, but Victor was also moving just as fast.
[Technique: False Body Deception Improved!]
[Surpassing Speed Limits...]
[Variable ’c’ Error Met!]
[2x]
The variable in ’c’ is used to express the cosmic speed limit, also known as the speed of light in physics. So, this can truly only mean one thing...
Zylus, using the False Body Deception technique, can now surpass the cosmic speed limit by twice that amount. Unimaginable strength began to reshape around Zylus, or so he thought. At this point, he can probably punch through a mountain’s cliff, pierce his hands through a mother bear.
But the fact is, Zylus also had a katana by his side.
"Come on," Zylus whispered, "I’m behind you."
Victor turned around faster than Zylus could swing his katana, "Come on?" Victor asked, sneering, "Look at you."
It seemed as though Zylus paused in time, but in reality, he didn’t. Victor then touched upon Zylus’s katana.
"Nice and sharp tool you got here." He whispered, "I wonder what would happen if I took it. What and who are you really? You falter to my pressure,e but don’t feel the same fear? This isn’t adding up, Zylus. What are you, truly?"
[False Body Deception Technique Failed!]
[20% Demonic Energy Lost]
[80% Remaining]
It felt as though Victor was trying to manipulate Zylus into rethinking who he was, which worked and continued to work. Zylus felt pressure just being around Victor’s annoying presence.
"Can’t believe you made me use this, guess you’re better than I thought," Victor whispered, as a green darkened aura surged throughout him.
A pulse hit Zylus in the chest, his own.
But of course, Zylus didn’t feel ’fear.’ He lost it long ago, back when he was fighting Jace, or he met this unexplainable individual. Back when he died against Fred, and came back, he had an option to lose one of those five emotions Zylus couldn’t remember too well in return for another life.
He also had the chance to let go of his human system, which he abruptly declined. At this point, Zylus only ever had fear without pressure, and continued with that.
Victor backed away. Zylus still couldn’t move; his legs, everything about him, felt heavy.
"Still in that stance?" Victor chuckled, "Can’t move around like usual?"
He raised both arms before continuing, "Welcome to my domain. You fell into my dominion, where all things are perceived as false and fake."
Zylus tried moving, but he couldn’t. "Hehehhh!"
Victor took out a knife from his pocket. He looked at it for a long while, facing it up front, just beside Zylus’s frozen and shaken face.
"This knife, what do you think?" Victor asked kindly, too kindly, "Well, it doesn’t really matter, because you’re gonna die with it."
Zylus tried speaking, and he finally found the courage to say other words, "But you told me you want to use me. So let’s use each other," He sneered, attempting to move again, as the katana fell from his hand.
"Uhhh," Victor didn’t even think about it, he just let out that noise to pretend, "I mean, yeah, you’re right. But, no matter what happened today, it was all a lie. I was going to kill you either way, no matter what. Those were my orders."
"Orders?" Zylus thought about it out loud, "Just who’s ordering you?!" 𝑓𝘳𝑒𝑒𝓌𝘦𝘣𝘯ℴ𝑣𝘦𝑙.𝘤𝑜𝑚
Victor chuckled, waiting a quick moment before exhaling. "You haven’t realized it yet? This was all an act, Zylus. From the beginning, you weren’t supposed to be here. I brought you here by manipulating the teleportation sovereignty pathway."
Zylus didn’t know how to reply, so he just listened, still trying to get out of what felt like invisible shackles.
"Us sovereigns, in truth, aren’t allowed to kill anyone. EEvery timeI try to destroy the world, or our world, I can’t. That’s why I needed Jace, I’m bored, Zylus, can’t you see?"
Victor breathed in and out before continuing, "Even though we aren’t allowed, nothing isstoppingg us. At first, I wanted to destroy my own world, but if I did, I would lose my title because there would be no one to be compared to."
As a sovereign, there must be at least one individual in the world you rule over to be drastically weaker in comparison to you, so of course,e this wouldn’t work out.
"And, I can’t do it to others, because they have this sort of ’alliance’ that pisses me off." His gaze darkened, "So I brought you here because, from the beginning, you’ve caught my eye. And, I had to take away the risk of you stepping into Godhood, or else, you would surpass me."
Zylus tried shaking again, "Fucking bitch."
Victor stepped up towards him, "Enough talk, let me end this already, my purpose here was just to remove any potential contestants after all. Michael will come next."
