Zombie Girls Revival System-Chapter 182: Kill Your Wife or Doom Us All.
The Mayor's wife… no, the thing that used to be the Mayor's wife, let out another chilling, guttural snarl. Sid's brain finally registered the truth, blindingly clear and absolute.
"She's a zombie. A literal, freaking zombie."
The creature looked around, tracking movement, its mouth leaking thick, ropey saliva. Everyone was paralyzed in deep, screaming shock, but Sid… the mind tempered by a thousand fictional apocalypses was the only one who instantly stabilized. The creature tensed.
"Everyone! Distance, NOW! It's a zombie! One touch and you're good as dead!"
His words were useless against raw, primal terror. Oshan shrieked, shielding the still kneeling Evelise.
"A what, Guard? A zombie?"
Sid ignored her, the guard body moving on instinct.
"She is gone! This thing needs to be execute! We have to kill it— now!"
The Mayor, who had dropped his pistol, scrambled like a wounded beetle to retrieve it, his focus utterly shattered by denial.
"No! She's ill! She's still my wife!" the Mayor wailed, the pistol now leveled directly at Sid. "Guard, stand back! You will not touch my wife! She is ill! She needs professional help, not... not violence!"
And then the creature launched— a blur of inhuman velocity. Sid had time only for a raw yell:
"SHIT NO!"
The nearest victim was the terrified maid who had brought the news to Sid and Evelise, she was instantly obliterated against the wall. The impact cracked the plaster. Before the maid could register the pain, the Mayor's wife… the zombie was on her, its jaws snapping wide, ready to feed.
"Ma'am? It's me… Lorelei, your, your personal—"
Lorelei's plea dissolved into a choked, bubbling scream as the creature tore into her neck. A geyser of arterial blood erupted, painting the ornate wallpaper a shocking, vivid crimson. The maid twitched violently, then went slack.
Harry, utterly useless and still drunk, just stared, pointing a trembling, bewildered finger at the carnage.
"Mother! What are you doing to the maid? Are you into… girls too? Because that's really gross and you are doing too much…"
Sid knew he had less than a minute before the maid was not only dead, but infected.
"Mayor! Listen to me! That thing is not your wife anymore!" Sid roared, grabbing a heavy silver candelabra. "If it bites or scratches you, you become that! We must destroy the head!"
Just then, the zombie turned, its milky eyes locking onto the easiest, most accessible prey: Evelise, still huddled on the floor. It launched itself across the room with a sickening, lurching run.
"Evelise! Look out!"
Oshan screamed, pulling Evelise up and pushing her behind the safety of the heavy mahogany desk. Sid knew he had no choice. He dropped the candelabra and activated his combat skill, needing every advantage against the armed Mayor and the agile monster.
Evade/Dodge Roll: [Ctrl + Space Bar]
Sid lunged forward to intercept the creature. The Mayor, driven mad by grief and protective instinct, fired his pistol.
"I told you not to touch her!"
The bullet whistled past the guard's ear as Sid executed a desperate Dodge Roll maneuver, his body tumbling to the side, narrowly missing the Mayor's shot and placing himself directly in the path of the zombie. Sid rose instantly, using his bare hands. He slammed his shoulder into the creature—
Push / Shove Enemy: [W + Left Mouse Click]
Driving the zombie back against the wall with a sickening thud. The Mayor, momentarily stunned by the transformation, lowered the pistol only slightly.
"Guard, what are you doing!? That is an act of treason!" the Mayor screamed, his voice strained. "She needs Dr. Alton! Not this brutality!"
"Dr. Alton can't cure death, Your Honor!" Sid yelled, struggling to hold the lurching creature pinned against the wall. "This thing will kill everyone here! You need to kill it! I need a blunt object to crush its skull!"
Harry, finally semi sober, stared at the creature gnashing its teeth at Sid.
"But... but it's Mother! It's just a fever!"
Evelise watched from behind the desk, her tears forgotten, her eyes wide with terror. The sight of Lorelei's brutal, bloody end was a shock so profound it obliterated the memory of every public insult. She whispered, her voice barely a thread in the chaos:
"W-what happened? That… that wasn't sickness. Why did a dead body just reanimate with such brutal aggression? This is not decay. This is carnage. Was this— was this truly the cause of the Red Rot?"
Lorelai, who had been attacked was now twitching uncontrollably on the floor, her own transformation accelerating at an horrifying pace.
"Evelise! Look at the maid!" Sid screamed, his arms burning as he strained to hold the Mayor's zombie wife back. "Forget the cure! It's too late! The infection has taken hold!"
The maid let out a hig -pitched, inhuman shriek, her eyes clouding over. She stood up, a second, smaller zombie, now focused on another nearby servant. 𝙧𝙚𝙚𝔀𝒆𝓫𝓷𝙤𝓿𝒆𝙡.𝒄𝙤𝓶
"The head! Evelise, please, you have to tell him! Shoot the head!"
Sid pleaded, his voice cracking with exertion. Evelise, seeing the second transformation, finally understood the terrible finality. Her scientific training took over.
"Mayor, stop!" Evelise cried, emerging from the desk. "He is right! This is no longer your wife! The condition is terminal and contagious upon contact! You must neutralize the central nervous system!"
The Mayor stood paralyzed, the pistol wavering between his zombie wife and the disobedient guard.
The second zombie, the maid— unged at a third, praying servant. Sid knew he couldn't hold both. He released the Mayor's wife, spinning and grabbing the heavy candelabra he'd dropped earlier—
Use / Pick Up Object: [E].
The Mayor's wife immediately lunged at him again. Sid ignored her, focusing on the immediate threat of proliferation. With a grunt of effort, Sid swung the candelabra with a brutal, sickening force against the side of the newly turned maid's head—
Heavy Attack (Power Strike): [Right Mouse Button].
A horrible, wet crunch echoed through the room. The maid's zombie body immediately collapsed, twitching weakly, its head crushed. Sid stood panting over the motionless corpse, the candelabra dripping.
"One down!"
Sid yelled, spinning to face the Mayor, the Mayor's wife, and the horrified onlookers.
"Now, Mayor, you have a choice! Kill your wife, or we all become them!"
Sid stood over the crushed skull of the zombie maid, the heavy candelabra gripped in his hand, breathing hard. The stench of blood and decay was overwhelming.
"The threat is immediate!" Sid yelled, wiping sweat from his brow. "You saw the maid! This is not recovery! This is reanimation! If she bites anyone else, the infection spreads instantly!"
The Mayor, however, was past reason. He stared at the motionless body of the second zombie, then back at his still-shambling wife, his face contorted in a terrifying mix of grief and delusion. The sight of Sid killing the maid had only intensified his protective mania.
"You murderous brute!" the Mayor screamed, leveling the pistol again, not at the zombie, but at Sid. "You dare lay a hand on the innocent sick! You are no better than the mongrels who caused this Rot!"
Harry, now gripping the edge of the bed for support, looked at his father with drunken admiration.
"That's right, Father! She just needs a good bath and some rest! Don't let the guard hurt Mother!"
"Mayor, I am begging you!" Evelise cried, crawling forward, her voice raw with desperation. "I am the only one who understands the infection! My cure failed because the Rot transformed her! She is biologically gone! You must allow us to destroy the brain!"
"Silence, failure!" the Mayor roared, his voice shaking with absolute authority. He took a staggering step forward. "I will not lose her! Not to this! My scientists are the best in the City! Dr. Alton will find a solution! You will seize her and bring her to the containment ward now!"
Sid lowered the candelabra slightly, his muscles tensing. "Your Honor, you are ordering us to capture a violent, reanimated corpse! This is insane! I just proved it's contagious death!"
"I don't care what it is!" the Mayor shrieked, tears and foam collecting at the corners of his mouth. "She is MINE! Oshan! Guard! I order you, under the penalty of summary execution, to seize my wife and secure her in the isolation wing! One more move against her, Guard, and I shoot the rabbit!"
His pistol shifted, centering menacingly on Evelise's chest.
Sid froze. The choice was instantly clear: the life of the woman he loved, the key to his entire mission, or the life of a zombie he could crush in two seconds. Oshan, seeing the gun trained on her mistress, lowered her head instantly.
"We obey, Guard," Oshan muttered, her tone one of grim resignation. "We cannot risk Lady Evelise."
Sid swallowed the bitter taste of defeat. He glared at the Mayor.
"You will doom us all with this sentimentality, Your Honor. This is not love; this is madness!"
"It is my command!" the Mayor insisted, his grip on the pistol unwavering. "Now! Secure her! Gently! She must be brought back!"
