Chapter 106: Identity 1

[Connection]

The moon was now fully set above them, covering the entire area with nice lighting from the stars and slight darkness from the sky. It felt as though everything was twisting, as Zylus’s system began to glitch slightly.

The pink cracks around his body started to increase their illumination under the moon, the shard on the right side of his face started growing even more, and his eyes turned pink.

[System Error!]

[Transcendent Resolved!]

[ERROR!]

[ERROR!]

Constant errors began to show, ones that no other individuals were able to perceive, including Victor or Patricia. Zylus sneered, seeing the messages they began to display, as Patricia stabbed him again, then pulled it back out from his chest.

"No reaction until your end, truly pathetic," She said, walking back. "Open the portal, Victor."

He began opening his hands wide once more, "Already have, just maintaining it right now, go through whenever you’re ready."

She looked back at Zylus, "I had enough fun, now, die under this moonlight and rot in hell, bitch." Patricia spat the second after onto the floor, as she turned back towards a wooden door that stood in the middle of nowhere.

She tilted the handle ninety degrees to the right, then pushed it open, which opened up to another side entirely, or rather, a new realm, The Dream Realm.

The Dream Realm is where the impossible becomes possible, where only Godlike warriors stand tall, where people govern over their respective territories, which is what Zylus has consumed up until this point. He was made aware of the cruelty and forsaken ideals this land brought to not just him, but the universe itself.

Abilities, strength, magic, whoever wielded such abilities orwhoeverl had capabilities of using such, to a high degree, had always been against Zylus. He was alone, a lone warrior trying to transcend his moral boundaries and limits as someone fated to lose against the Spirit Realm. 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝙚𝙬𝓮𝙗𝒏𝙤𝒗𝙚𝙡.𝒄𝒐𝓶

He was fated, from the very beginning, to lose, and lose, and lose, and continue to lose until he was on the brink of defeat, with no more motivation in him to continue. But fate was only ever a bond meant to be broken, and Zylus continued to show otherwise.

The fact that he was already here proved this, what he had become, and what he’s fated to be.

"Missed me?"

[System Error Breached!]

[Strength: +1,000,000]

[Speed: +1,000,000]

[Health: +1,000,000]

[Stamina: +1,000,000]

He was now the one who had no bounds to these moral limitations, to this ’Natural Order.’ Zylus was on his way to becoming it all...

The Transcendent Survivor.

It was an all-time high and an all-time low for him. It’s like something out of a nightmare and a dream at the same time. He gained strength, but at what cost? What was he gonna lose, what was he gonna gain?

These questions resurfaced through his mind as he stood inside the room, where Patricia had opened the door, standing in one position, stepping back as she witnessed what was transpiring in front of her.

"B-but," Patricia stuttered, backing away from the door and back into the moonlight, "Y-your limbs," she pointed at Zylus, "How have they grown b-back?"

Zylus looked at his entire body, exhaling, then realizing she was petrified by his sight. As Patricia backed away, Zylus looked straight into her gaze, and she looked back in shock, covering her mouth, almost as if she was about to puke.

"O-oh," Zylus pondered out loud, "I see what you mean..." He whispered, "But, I hope that cutesy impression isn’t false this time."

Zylus walked up towards her, step after step after step. It felt as though he was going slow on purpose, but Patricia’s fear of the man before her was the reason time felt slow, or the meaning behind Zylus’s slow steps. He was moving sslowly she was just playing a hallucination in her mind, but in reality...

Bam!

Patricia was now found in the same area where Zylus initially sat, as he moved through the light just to get over her as quickly as possible. He stared down straight at her, his menacing aura perpetuated Patricia’s instincts, making her faint at that moment.

The mmoonlightperfectly rose above him from the back, as another voice was heard, a couple of meters away.

"Seems, you got a little stronger," Victor clapped his hands together, "Why don’t you try it on someone more powerful?"

Zylus turned around, "Lucky you," he averted his gaze back to Victor, "Seems like your boyfriend came just in time to save you."

Victor chuckled, "How is it that you grew your limbs back? And that right-hand punch to Patricia, no normal feat that was. But hey, I thought you were better than that. Punching a girl, a truly horrendous thing to do from such a cunning man."

Zylus crouched down, stabbing his katana towards the stone floor, "Hey, I mean, the quote goes something like..."

He paused, standing back up, and aiming his katana right at Victor, "Equal fights. Equal rights."

Victor laughed again; this one felt more contagious and had an amusing factor to it.

"So, which potential do you have? I’m curious about everything about you, Zylus! Who are your parents truly?! What are the abilities you’re able to do? Who really are you? What is it with a man like you? Which race do you inhabit? Your potential?"

Victor opened his arms wide, "I want all of it!"

Zylus breathed in and out calmly, "Technique..."

He looked down, thoughts simmering about himself mid-move.

"Why’d you stop?!" It seemed as though Victor had been annoyingly enjoying it, which pissed Zylus off a lot. "Keep going!"

More and more, these thoughts, one by one, became worse, until he took a breath of fresh air. Looking up at the moon that sshonebrightly over their duel, listening to the nice and calming breeze swifting from left to right.

’Who am I...?’

Which conclusion was beneficial for his case? Zylus Elwis, the man who suffered continuously, the man who tried to alter fate, is the same man who tried to find his identity.
