Chapter 134: Chapter 134: How Am I Supposed to Respect You?

Arriving at the room, Vera Yves put away her luggage while Zoe Monroe hummed a song beside her.

"Zoe, are you serious with Theodore Xavier?"

Zoe Monroe leaned in, her eyes bright with laughter, "It’s alright, he’s handsome and great at playing games. We’ve only been dating for a few days, and I’m almost at fifty stars in King of Glory! I never reached that level before!"

Zoe Monroe had always been lively, never lacking admirers, and she had dated a few times; however, her interest always faded quickly.

Vera Yves didn’t say anything more.

Zoe Monroe teased her with a smile, "Vera, why are you still sleeping in separate rooms with my cousin? You two..."

Vera Yves blushed slightly, "It’s just to keep you company."

Zoe Monroe looked regretful, "Then I’m truly sinful!"

After getting ready, everyone gathered in the lobby to take a special car to the ski resort.

Zoe Monroe looked at the couple in matching ski outfits, holding Theodore Xavier’s arm, "If I knew, we’d have bought matching outfits too."

Theodore Xavier chuckled, "I thought only teenage girls were obsessed with couple items."

Zoe Monroe sneered, "What, you’ve dated teenage girls? How young?"

Theodore Xavier casually said, "Didn’t you ever date when you were a teenager?"

"Never, I was a good girl!" Zoe Monroe pretended to be serious, "You were an early bloomer? How old were you, and was your first girlfriend prettier than me?"

Theodore Xavier helplessly laughed, "Spare me, Auntie."

Vera Yves held Miles Monroe’s hand and whispered in his ear, "Are your wounds really okay?"

Miles Monroe looked down at her, "Or do you want to check them?"

Vera Yves met his playful gaze, her cheeks slowly reddened, Miles Monroe leaned closer to her, "Just kidding, it’s fine now. I’ll accompany you wherever you want to ski later."

In the changing area, everyone started gearing up.

Seeing Miles Monroe bending down beside Vera Yves, helping her put on socks, changing her shoes, and then putting on her gloves and protective gear, Zoe Monroe glanced at Theodore Xavier.

Both boyfriends, yet the difference is so vast!

Her gaze was probably too melancholy, as Theodore Xavier looked over, "Didn’t you say you were great at skiing? Let’s have a race later?"

Race my foot!

Entering the ski resort, Vera Yves and Miles Monroe skied hand in hand on the beginner slope to get the feel.

Zoe Monroe and Theodore Xavier took the lift directly to the intermediate slope for their competition.

Just when Vera Yves and Miles Monroe were skiing smoothly.

"Excuse me, make way!"

A figure from afar skied towards them; Miles Monroe quickly let go of Vera Yves’ hand and pushed her aside.

The man skied ahead and turned back, "Sorry, just learned to ski, couldn’t control it."

Miles Monroe looked at the unfamiliar man and politely said, "No worries."

And soon after, the man skied over again, still apologizing guiltily.

Miles Monroe looked at his retreating figure; the man’s movements were agile, definitely not a beginner.

When the man came over for the third time, Miles Monroe followed him, "Excuse me, sir, do you know us?"

The man looked slightly guilty, "I don’t know. I really couldn’t control it. I’m truly sorry."

Afterward, Miles Monroe didn’t hold Vera Yves’ hand but skied beside her. She hadn’t skied for a while but quickly got the hang of it.

The two took the lift to the intermediate slope again.

They skied side by side down the slope; there were quite a few people, and soon someone skied between them, increasing the distance.

Halfway down, Vera Yves stopped, and someone followed and stopped beside her.

Vera Yves thought it was still Miles Monroe beside her and reached out with a smile, "Miles..."

Although through the goggles, Vera Yves still saw Winston Valentine’s face clearly.

How could he be here?

Seeing her smile vanish, Winston Valentine, fearing she might leave, held onto her hand as she tried to withdraw.

Vera Yves pulled back fiercely, "Let go! Don’t you think those rumors aren’t nasty enough?"

"What rumors?" Winston Valentine laughed nonchalantly, "The ones calling me a male mistress?"

Vera Yves turned away, "At least you’re aware."

She looked around for Miles Monroe; they clearly came down together.

Winston Valentine gripped her hand, "Why can you tolerate Miles Monroe wavering between you and Jane Shea?"

"Because he knows how to respect me!" Vera Yves glared at him angrily, "Winston Valentine, do you know what respect means? Ask yourself, during the years I was married to you, did you ever respect me?" 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦

"How should I respect you?" Winston Valentine looked at her with hatred, "A wife who calls out another man’s name during sex! Why don’t you ask Miles Monroe if you call my name when you’re with him, see if he can still respect you!"

"Winston Valentine, don’t slander me!"

Vera Yves was shaking with rage, pulling her hand back quickly as Winston Valentine let go.

Vera Yves fell to the ground, her little face scrunched up in pain.

Winston Valentine reached out to grab her, and Vera Yves, furious, grabbed his hand and pulled him down too.

With revenge taken, Vera Yves propped herself up on the ground to get up.

Suddenly, Winston Valentine pulled her back, flipping her under him, but they both wore thick clothes, making their movements awkward.

"You’re truly heartless! Knowing I got hurt for you, yet you still made me fall!"

Vera Yves pushed him hard, finally realizing he was still injured; coming here to ski was insane!

"You asked for it!"

Winston Valentine pressed down on her, gritting his teeth, "I did ask for it, knowing you’re heartless but still wanting you!"

Vera Yves was unable to move, so she stopped struggling; Winston Valentine noticed her not resisting and moved closer, eyeing her red lips.

"Boom!"

Vera Yves headbutted him, ignoring the pain, pushed him away, got up, and swiftly skied downhill.

Winston Valentine sat up, rubbed his forehead watching her ski further away, his dark eyes deepened, no matter how far you go, I’ll bring you back!

Vera Yves skied to the bottom of the slope and, seeing Winston Valentine didn’t follow, finally let out a breath.

She looked around a bit more and found Miles Monroe among the crowd. He skied to her side and said helplessly, "I ran into a group of university students skiing, and they knocked me down."

"Is your wound okay?"

Miles Monroe shook his head, "Shall we ski once more?"

Vera Yves thought of Winston Valentine, "How about we try something else? I don’t feel like skiing anymore."

"Alright, we can ski later."

Afterward, Vera Yves didn’t see Winston Valentine again, and she finally relaxed as everyone played until dusk before returning to the hotel.

Only to find a crowd of reporters outside the hotel.

People nearby were discussing.
