"Zoe!" Vera Yves looked at her in surprise.

"Oh, it’s my sister-in-law."

Vera Yves regretted coming to the hospital, but since she was already there, she braced herself and went in.

Miles Monroe introduced a few people to Vera Yves, who smiled and greeted them.

Miles Monroe was afraid she might feel uncomfortable, so he made an excuse about feeling unwell and dismissed the people.

Zoe Monroe tactfully went to see off the guests.

"It’s my fault for not explaining clearly to Zoe," Miles Monroe looked at her apologetically, "She woke up this morning and saw you lying in my bed, thinking we were together. I said not yet, but she didn’t believe it..."

Penelope Langley smiled at her, "Vera, I just found out Zoey went off to have fun, I’m staying in the hospital tonight with Miles, you can head back."

Miles Monroe looked helplessly at Penelope Langley, "You have a cleanliness obsession, how can you sleep in a hospital?"

"You!" Penelope Langley looked at him, unable to believe it, "What’s the use of the old man liking her? He doesn’t hold power!"

"Mom, I’ve long since told you all, I’m not interested in taking over the company." Miles Monroe leaned back on the bed, "So, being with Vera doesn’t need anyone’s approval."

"I didn’t know my son was a romantic! Haven’t you had enough setbacks with Jane Shea! How have you reached this age still putting love first!"

"I’m not putting love first." Miles Monroe tilted his head, "It’s just that it’s Vera, and I want to give her the best."

Vera Yves walked out of the elevator and bumped into a woman.

Vera Yves didn’t think much of it and accompanied her upstairs. It wasn’t until she saw the Valentine Family bodyguards outside the intensive care unit that Vera Yves realized who Rae wanted to see.
