Chapter 908: Chapter 908 The One He Loves is Back (Part 22)_1

The results of the investigation, however he looked at it, made Howard feel that the relationship between Andrew and Madeleine was anything but ordinary. So the second he found out that Madeleine hadn’t gone to work, he thought for a moment, then called in sick to his own company and drove to the airport.

By the time Howard was speeding on the road to the airport, his mind had somewhat cleared.

Even if Madeleine was really going to pick up Andrew, what could he do if he followed them? Surely he wouldn’t try to pull Madeleine away and prevent her from meeting Andrew?

Howard stood outside the bright glass walls of the airport and saw Madeleine in a light yellow skirt, holding a red Chanel handbag, standing at the international flights exit, continuously peering inside.

After about ten minutes, she might have received a call on her cell phone. She picked up and began speaking while tilting her head to look inside the exit. After talking for a few sentences, Madeleine shook her red handbag vigorously toward someone inside.

Then, Howard saw a man in a black shirt, arms open with a smile, walking towards Madeleine.

Madeleine ended the call she was on, and when the man approached, she extended her hand for a hug, and in the manner of a warm Western greeting, they brushed cheeks.

After the greeting, the two didn’t rush to the parking lot to leave the airport but stood at the exit, apparently in conversation.

Although Howard was some distance from Madeleine and Andrew and could only see the woman’s profile, he could tell that Madeleine’s face beamed with joy. Her hand holding the bag would gesture now and then, as if she was excitedly talking about something.

Andrew was as tall as Howard, and though Madeleine wore high heels, he was still much taller. While talking to Madeleine, he always maintained a posture of leaning down and gazing at her. Facing her incessant chatter, he would nod occasionally, smile, and even when Madeleine was most animated, he gently shook his head, his hair tangling around his face. Andrew naturally reached out, hooked her long hair with his fingers, and tucked it behind her ear.

Howard’s hand involuntarily clenched into a fist, as if he were frozen in place, just staring at the scene until Madeleine and Andrew shoulder-to-shoulder took the elevator to the underground parking lot. Only then did he come back to his senses, stayed silent for a while, and inexplicably continued to follow the two.

Andrew’s flight arrived at Capital International Airport at ten o’clock, and after Madeleine picked up Andrew, they drove back into the city, which was nearing noon, so Madeleine naturally chose the Grand Capital Hotel to treat Andrew to a meal.

Since they hadn’t reserved in advance, the Grand Capital Hotel had no private rooms available, so Madeleine and Andrew sat at a table for two by the window in the lobby on the first floor.

Howard didn’t follow them into the Grand Capital Hotel. Instead, he sat in his car, looking through the car window and the transparent glass of the hotel, watching Madeleine holding the menu, constantly ordering dishes from the waiter. While ordering, Madeleine also occasionally consulted Andrew sitting opposite her. Although Howard couldn’t hear what they were talking about, he could guess that Madeleine was asking about Andrew’s preferences and requirements for the meal.

After ordering, Madeleine poured a cup of tea for Andrew and handed it to him. Then the two continued to chat as if no one else was around, in a pleasant scene.
