Chapter 264: Good Day For A Hunt-I

After Malvo left the cell Arabella was left with the shiver down her spine. She questioned why The King had behaved oddly as he remarked and questioned if the castle had completely fallen to the Queen’s grasp. Who knows what the queen had done but she was sure that the queen was confident with her plan and there was something... no, someone who had helped her in it.

Arabella began to loosened her frown as she quietly pondered.

The fact that the queen had accused her for killing Marissa. Was it really the Queen who had worked with the sorcerer then pinned the blame on her? Did the Queen... killed Marissa?

Or was it that the Queen just took the chance? While the sorcerers working with Morpheus killed Marissa to push Cassius into giving her up to them, Queen Morgana saw this as a chance, a way for her to accuse her as a killer to get under Cassius’s skin and to push him into doing things he shouldn’t, causing for the throne to slip and fall to her hands instead?

The more Arabella thought, the more curious she became.

The more question also arrives in her head.

Particularly was the person who Malvo had seen as her, perhaps also the person who Iliza worked with.

For now, Arabella was only certain that Iliza wasn’t innocent- that she had worked with the sorcerer and who knows how she had done so.

It would be good if she could see Iliza on her own, to ask and demand answer from her. Not that she believes that Iliza would answer it.

"Human hunt," Karnala whispered. It seems that her mind was instead lingering on the activity that the humans had started and now the vampires had turned into a tradition. "This is dangerous, Miss Arabella. If His Highness doesn’t come home by tomorrow... we should start preparing a plan on how to avoid the human hunt or to survive it."

Arabella pressed her hands on her forehead.

True. Cassius. Was he alright? He hadn’t come home yet even though by now it should be midnight. This didn’t make sense, was it the distance that made him took so long? Or the sorcerers?

The more she fall into thoughts, the more worried she became. Wringing her hands together, Arabella muttered, "How could anyone survive the human hunt?"

"By avoiding every single tricks on the vampire’s book," Karnala lowered her voice as she looked around the place. "Don’t forget that a hunter can also be hunted."

Arabella frowned but she listened to all Karnala’s advices, telling her how and when she should run and hide, how to avoid being shot by an arrow while running and how being barefoot could be dangerous so she should cover her feet.

Though this was only a prevention, Arabella’s heart was at unease, noting everything diligently. In her heart she began to pray for everything to go by smoothly.

But what she wasn’t aware was how the castle had been stirred. Isabelle had successfully walked out of the throne with a wide smile on her lips, proving that she had made her plan into a reality while the Queen stared from her window to the forest where the human hunt would be held.

With a wider smile, the Queen spoke to the ministers, who were angrily discussing what they have to do with Arabella, without turning her head, "Then let us add a thousand point to whoever could bring a part of that human’s body to us."

Minister Helena looked up toward her, a gaze that narrows to the Queen unsubtly, "You mean to severe just one limb of the human?"

"Oh wait, she isn’t a human anymore so we shall call her a monster from onwards," The queen folded her hands and chuckled, "Why Helena? Don’t you think it would do us well that someone in the hunt could help us in killing her? Who knows, maybe she isn’t as immortal as she seems. Maybe if we kill her a few more times, she would exhaust her power and eventually die for good? Besides she is dangerous but she cannot do anything physically or with her power, the only thing she’s good at is not dying."

"True, if she had power, would she allow us to drag her into the cell or keep her there?" Minister Rueben asked with great enthusiasm.

Helena knew that Rueben hates humans but it seems this particular humans has more than just Rueben’s hatred as it became even clearer that they had a history that caused for Rueben to despise her even more.

But how could Helena agrees to it?

Arabella was kept by Cassius around him and she doubted that Cassius didn’t notice or wasn’t even the littlest aware that she had this power in her!

Cassius must have kept her by his side for a reason, and now Helena couldn’t easily agree for the girl to get rid off by the Queen.

"However her hands are bound in the cell but in an open place? What if her power contributes to the nature, what if she becomes powerful and instead killed everyone in the castle for good?" Helena shook her head as she spoke, "We haven’t known anything from this girl, nothing about her at all. Nothing. Yet the fact is, she cannot die and her power is far too volatile considering she cannot die no matter if she was stabbed to the heart or not."

"Well fine," the Queen said, "Helena disagree but is everyone else in this table with her? Raise your hands if you do."

Silence ensued and Helena turned to look at the other ministers quiet.

After a while only one person raised his hand and that made only two against seven voices which concluded the meeting.

Angered by this, Helena stormed out of the room but before she reached the entrance of the door, her hands hung on the doorknob and she sighed, turning toward the Queen, "If things went awry for the hunt, Your Majesty, I hope you don’t come towards me, asking for help."

Queen Morgana’s face turned flushed with anger, recalling a dark moment where she asked Helena for help while begging after making a fault which the latter seemed to remember and drag every time that there was a chance.

"I doubt I would ever ask for your help again," The Queen firmly scoffed, "Ever." She then added while Helena stormed out with her heels clashing against the marbled floor.
