Chapter 81 - You look so young

Yun-tae woke up in the same bed as Chin-hwa, surrounded by plushies, stuffed animals, and a very warm blanket.

Chin-hwa was still fast asleep and his complexion looked so light and relaxed as he hugged one of his teddies.

Well, why wouldn't he be relaxed when he was surrounded by comfort?

"What time is it?" Yun-tae wondered, picking up his phone he found on the lamp table next to him.

He checked and his eyes widened to discover it was a little past two in the afternoon.

"Oh, God, how did I sleep so long?" He thought out loud. Was it because he stayed up too late? But he had never slept this long before.

Then, was it the influence of the plushies? The comfort around him must've made him feel like he was sleeping on the clouds.

His stomach grumbled and he sighed.

"I'm so shameless, sleeping for so long in someone else's house." He exclaimed. "What will they think of me? I..."

The door opened and Hae-won walked in.

"Are you finally awake?" He asked, smiling politely. "You were out for so long that I was almost starting to get worried that you kids don't get enough rest in that school of yours."

"Oh, not... Not at all." Yun-tae answered, getting up to his feet right away. "I must've been beat after the long week and the bed was..." He glanced back at the bed. "Beyond comfortable that I slept for so long. Please, pardon me."

"Oh, it's alright." Hae-won laughed. "I'm just glad you were comfortable, despite you two sharing a bed."

"Well, the bed is big enough for five people, so why wouldn't we be comfortable as two?" Yun-tae smiled. "Nice to meet you again, Mr Park."

"Yes, likewise." He said, getting closer.

Yun-tae could not help but notice how young Hae-won looked despite having birthed threw grown kids already.

He hardly had wrinkles on his face and if he hadn't known that he was Chin-hwa's mother, he might've thought he was his sibling.

"You look so young." Yun-tae accidentally blurted out, but as soon as he did, he closed his mouth and repeatedly bowed his head. "I'm sorry. I'm so so sorry. That was very rude of me. Please, forgive me."

Hae-won stared at him like he was an oddball before laughing.

"Oh, don't sweat it. I get that a lot." He said. "You see, I age very slowly for some reason, so I don't look my age, but believe it or not, I'm way past 50."

"Ah, you're blessed." Yun-tae bowed his head, his eyes teary as he feared he had made a mistake earlier.

"Yes, it would seem so." Hae-won answered and then glanced at her son still soundly sleeping. "I think it's about time you boys had something in your bellies. So, head on to the dinner table so you can have brunch. I'll stay and wake my sleepy boy up." He said, walking towards the bed and Yun-tae nodded.

"Yes, sir."

Yun-tae headed towards the door and then glanced back at Hae-won who smiled back at him.

'Mister Hae-won is so nice and friendly. I wonder if he'll agree to give me his autograph before I leave this time.' he thought and then shut the door.

Hae-won looked away from the door once it had been shut and exhaled.

While the outside world treats him as a male Omega, inside his house, he still very much gets treated as a lady because of his actual origins. And though it's not much different from how male Omegas are treated... There's a significant difference.

His children know he is a female in a male body, and he would very much like to be referred to as 'she' instead of 'he' on most occasions.

But he did not let it master their tongues, so they wouldn't mess up in the future and call out to him as she in public.

It wouldn't mean much but it could leave a dent of confusion.

In any case... He shook his head and looked at Chin-hwa... He never got offended.

He reached his hand towards Chin-hwa's face, gently touched his eyelids that were no longer swollen, and then pursed his lips.

He heard from Deok-ryu that Chin-hwa might've possibly discovered Kang-woo's secret but he hoped that was not the case.

"Hwa," he called softly, brushing his hair gently and stroking his cheek. "It's time to wake up now, Hwa."

Usually, no amount of noise was able to force Chin-hwa up from his sleep if he didn't want to, but when spoken to softly, he surprisingly breaks away from the dream world and wakes up.

"You haven't eaten anything and though I know sleeping helps you clear your mind of whatever you're thinking, it helps you escape... you still have to eat something." He whispered, and Chin-hwa's forehead creased as he tried to force his eyes open. "Don't try too hard, baby." He said, pressing his thumb on his creased forehead. "Gently, now."

Chin-hwa's forehead settled, and slowly, his eyelashes fluttered open. His soft brown eyes feasted on the sight of his mother smiling gently at him.

While his vision was somewhat blurry as he fluttered his eyelashes and, not able to see the face of his mother clearly, he could somewhat make out the image of a woman with long hair and lush lips, smiling at him warmly and calling his name.

"Hwa, wake up now, okay, baby?"

That was his mother... His sight finally became clear, and he found his mother sitting next to him, also smiling at him.

"Did you sleep well?" Hae-won asked.

Compared to the woman Chin-hwa just saw, Hae-won had his long hair packed in a pigtail. He grew it out a long time ago but tended to pack it up when he was at home.

"Mommy," Chin-hwa called softly.

"Yes, mommy's here. Will you stand up now? I need you to eat." Hae-won said but Chin-hwa looked around, glancing around his room. He was back in his room in their family house.

His eyes almost grew teary, feeling his heart weigh down heavily but he hugged Hae-won's waist before that could happen, burying his face.

"Now, now, Hwa. Did you miss me that much?" Chin-hwa asked, stroking his hair gently. "I told you, if you start missing me, come home right away but you just won't listen."

"Mommy," Chin-hwa called one more time. "Let me stay like this for a while." He demanded. "Let me... Hug you like this."

Hae-won stared at his son in pity and nodded.

"It's alright. I won't rush you." He patted his back. "Take your time. I'm right here."
