To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 77: I can’t help but want you
Chapter 77 - I can't help but want you
Kang-woo was asked to do a presentation of his musical talent, be it instrumental or vocals.
He did not expect this but since he was going to show how capable he was to team up with Kang-woo, he guessed he'd have to do his best.
And maybe hearing him play would help something click on Chin-hwa.
"Hwa," Kang-woo called. "Do you remember my favorite sonata?" He asked and Chin-hwa's eyes widened.
He got up and then walked up to where the piano was, flipped the cover off, and then grazed his fingers over the white and black keys.
He sat down gracefully and asked the audience who were being swept away at how tender he touched the piano.
"May I start?" He asked.
"Ah, yes." Yoon-woo answered. 'Sheesh, for a fellow Alpha, he does know how to make hearts wave.' she cleared her throat. "What note will you play? Do you need a score?"
"Oh, no. That won't be necessary." Kang-woo said. "And I'll be playing 'Taccata' a 'sonata for solo piano' by John Adams."
"Wow, I've heard of that. But isn't that sort of complicated? Or are you a master? It wouldn't be such a surprise if you were, I mean..." She laughed off her words. "You may begin."
Chin-hwa watched him with eyes that sparkled for some reason. That sonata... They learned it together. But that aside, it had been indeed difficult to learn.
It was such a complex sonata since it had to do with the same rhythm as one's heartbeat.
So, at a time like this, he decided to play a complex sonata just so he could replicate his heartbeat? What was he planning to achieve?
He remembered singing to his play when he wasn't playing along with him and truly, it was the song of the heart.
Chin-hwa grabbed his chest.
Kang-woo began to play the note, one key at a time with his eyes nearly closed as his fingers began to speed up a bit, and his fingers began to dance on the keys.
The members were struck in awe as he skillfully played this piece. Yoon-woo could not let this remain a simple memory so she started recording with her phone.
'I'll be able to promote the club's prestige with this.' she thought with a devious snicker.

Chin-hwa watched Kang-woo as he played but then he opened his eyes, glancing towards him and smirking.
This caught Chin-hwa by surprise and as their eyes met, his heart skipped a beat.
He looked away right away but that could not change the fact that he had warmed his heart.
'I can't help but want you, even though I try not to. What is this? What am I doing wrong?'
Distance did not help him since all the while Kang-woo was gone, he missed him, rather than forgot him.
Seeing him with another did not help him either. Being with another himself... Did not seem to be working at all.
'So, what can I do altogether? What other measures do I have to take?'
The sound of loud clapping broke him out of his thoughts and he raised his head to find everyone clapping.
Kang-woo had ended his performance and had everyone looking at him like he was a legend or something.
"I might be a little rough since I haven't touched the piano in a while, so..."
"Oh, quit it. Now, you being humble is just insulting to the rest of us." Yoon-woo exclaimed. "That was the best I've ever heard a student play. Even our prodigy who graduated last year wasn't as good as you."
"Haha, is that so? Then, you've never heard Hwa play then." Kang-woo said and Chin-hwa's eyes widened. What was he doing?
"Does Chin-hwa play instruments as well? I thought his vocals were his prize." Yoon-woo asked, turning to see Chin-hwa hiding his face in embarrassment. "Are you sure?"
"Yes, Hwa plays just as good as me. Even better if he's in a good mood." He smiled, as he recalled a series of events in their past.
"Gosh, how were we supposed to see it when he's such a shy one?" Yoon-woo asked, placing her hand on her waist. "Well, it's settled. You two seem to know each other well. You'll definitely pair up for the performance at the event, so get to work and chase out that meek spirit from him. You got it."
"Yes,"
Kang-woo looked at Chin-hwa. He had his face buried in his bag.
He should've known what he was bringing upon himself when he decided to show Kang-woo the way to the music room. He should've just let him roam around and get lost; then, he wouldn't have been dragged into this.
"I hate this." He muttered and felt someone standing in front of him. He raised his head and found Kang-woo staring at him with a smile.
"I told you, Hwa, I will help you get your voice back, no matter what it takes."
Chin-hwa stared at him. His voice was never lost. The only thing lost was... The willingness in his heart.
"So, won't you do the performance with me?"
Chin-hwa got up, took his bag, and walked away. He wasn't going to answer or Kang-woo. He wasn't going to let him decide what he could or could not do.
If he stayed any longer, Kang-woo would only succeed in convincing him since he did not have the heart to refuse him for too long.
Suddenly, someone grabbed Chin-hwa's arm and he yelled, thinking it was Kang-woo,
"I said leave me alone."
But when he turned, it was actually Ji-hoo.
"Oh! Oh, I'm sorry." He quickly apologized, bowing his head. "I thought you were Kang-woo for a moment and..." He paused. Maybe he shouldn't have said that.
"Kang-woo? Is he pestering you?"
"No, it's not like that. We're in the same Music club and he agreed to a performance on my behalf." Chin-hwa explained, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "I don't like being on stage but Yoon-woo wants us to all participate and perform something for the school festival."
"Then, I think it's a good thing Kang-woo agreed on your behalf." Ji-hoo said.
"What?! Whose side are you on?" He yelled at Ji-hoo. "You're supposed to be on my side."
"Yes, I know, and I completely understand, but I feel you'd never accept otherwise and that's not good."
"How is it not good?"
"Well, you'd..."
"Hwa," Kang-woo called, approaching them. He stopped in front of them but did not even spare a glance at Ji-hoo and said to Chin-hwa, "You forgot your score sheet for the performance."
