To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 65: Thirty minutes...
Chapter 65 - Thirty minutes...
Ji-hoo and Chin-hwa met over a year ago. It was during one of these department drinking parties.
The P.E. majors happened to be having their party in the same place the I.D. majors were having their party.
Chin-hwa was fond of beer, and since he knew he wouldn't get drunk till about thirty minutes after he stopped drinking, he took it all in.
He'd only have to suffer a headache and hangover the next morning. So, when the Sunbaes offered him a drink, he would drink it without hesitation.
He even helped Yun-tae who couldn't drink too much.
He and Dong-cha did most of the drinking till he began to hiccup.
"Wow, for someone who doesn't talk much, you drink quite well." One of their Sunbaes said and poured Chin-hwa one more glass with a flushed face.
There was no doubt that Chin-hwa was an Omega, so maybe Sunbae had an ulterior motive for trying to get him drunk, but it was way too obvious that he had a specific interest in Chin-hwa.
Dong-cha snatched the glass from Chin-hwa and said,
"Stop it already, Sunbae. You're drunk, so you should try to take a walk and sober up instead of forcing more alcohol on your Hoobaes." She fearlessly said and the Sunbae frowned.
Even though he was a year ahead of Dong-cha, it did not look like Dong-cha was scared of any repercussions.
Maybe it was because she was an Alpha and one with a lot of pride in herself as well.
"Tsk," the Sunbae clicked his tongue. "How dare you be rude to your Sunbae?" He asked and she glared at him.
"Why not? You were rude first." Dong-cha fearlessly said and the matter was about to escalate when Chin-Hwa said,
"Sunbae, please don't mind her words. She just had too much to drink."
"No, I'm completely sober." Dong-cha said but Chin-Hwa cleared his throat and said,
"I would like to drink more from you, but I can't keep up with you for much longer since you're such a good drinker, and we're almost out of alcohol, and I haven't eaten anything for a while, so... Allow me to eat, please?"
The Sunbae blushed at Chin-hwa's generous words.
He scratched his face and said,
"Well, I guess we can do that. Okay, eat up. I'll fill your plate with lots of meat." He said and started cutting up the meat from the grill on Chin-hwa's plate.
Dong-cha clicked her tongue and Chin-hwa sighed.
He looked at his wristwatch and closed his eyes.
'Thirty minutes.' he thought.
The night was relatively early since it was just 8 and his curfew was by 10. No, 9:30 he had to be home and under cold water. He couldn't stay out too long.
And he couldn't abruptly leave either since then, the Sunbaes would make a big deal out of it and his life might not be as quiet as he wished it to be.
He sighed and ate the meat on his plate.
The time was slowly ticking and before he knew it, ten minutes, fifteen minutes... It was nearly 20 minutes down and he still hasn't gotten up.
He got worried but thankfully, the Sunbae wasn't paying a lot of attention to him anymore.
His best bet at that moment was to sneak out on the pretext of going to the bathroom or somewhere else.
"Um, excuse me," He said and got up. "I think I need to clear my head a bit, so..."
"Already?"
"Yes, I'll just be gone for a while."
Though, that was a lie.
He got up and texted Dong-cha,
*I'll be heading out now, please cover for me.*
First, Chin-hwa went to the restroom to watch his face but his vision had started to blur.
The tip of his fingers felt cold and were slightly trembling.
"I think I drank too much." He said to himself and watched his face a bit more. He even wanted to throw up what he had eaten but he was scared he'd only render himself weak. "I should get going. I need to get to the dorms, before..."
Yeah, the alcohol was already kicking in. It was more than 20 minutes and so he was already feeling all that alcohol sweep through his system and cloud his thinking.
"I need..." He muttered as he staggered, holding the wall as he managed to stay on his feet. "I need someone."
His eyes grew teary for some reason, and he started to cry.
"Byul, where are you?"
Subconsciously looking for Kang-woo when he was drunk seemed to be a habit. He kept going till his head bumped into someone and he raised his head to see who it was.
He was tall and had light hair. He could not see clearly so he could not say for sure if it was blonde or white, but it was definitely not black.
"Who... Byul?" He called.
Since they were tall, it might've been his Byul there to help him, right?
"What? Star?" The person asked but Chin-hwa shook his head and nodded back. "Are you okay?" He asked, worried as Chin-hwa seemed rather unstable with his steps, and given how his head bobbed forward and backward. "You're drunk, aren't you?"
"Byul," his eyes grew teary, and this made the other person a bit uncomfortable, but what made him even more uncomfortable was the fact that he had a pretty face when he cried.
He was adorable.
"Do you need help?" He asked and looked up as if searching for a possible pursuer. "Is someone chasing you by chance?"
"No, I... I want to get some fresh air." He said.
"Then, do you need my help?" He offered his hand and without hesitation, Chin-hwa held his hand.

He did not know who it was but something told him he did not have any ulterior motives. He was kind, from the way he spoke.
There was a playground just a few walks from the restaurant and Chin-hwa found himself sitting on a swing. It shook slowly.
If anyone asked how he got there, he had no explanation. His world went blank for a moment while he held this guy's hand, but after sitting, he seemed to have sobered up a bit.
"Are you better now?" Chin-hwa looked up and saw the guy who helped him in the darkness. "My name is Hyuk Ji-hoo by the way. What's yours?"
"Ji...hoo?" Chin-hwa repeated but then his eyes grew teary again as he said, "Not Byul?"
