To Byul (Omegaverse)-Chapter 115: No, we’re done
"Hwa," Kang-woo called and Chin-hwa opened his eyes to find himself on top of Kang-woo. "Are you okay?"
Kang-woo had his back on the floor and Chin-hwa on top of him. At the moment when Kang-woo was about to fall, he quickly got up and caught his hand, dragging him towards himself, but he was not yet balanced on the floor either, so they both fell.
"Oh no, Kang-woo, are you okay?" Chin-hwa asked frantically. "How’s your head?"
"It’s alright, I didn’t hit it on the floor," Kang-woo said and Chin-hwa sighed in relief.
"I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have gotten up in a haste,"
"No, your legs were probably numb so it’s my fault," Kang-woo said. "Don’t worry," he brought his hand to Chin-hwa’s face and caressed it with a smile. "I’ll take responsibility,"
Chin-hwa’s head almost blew up and he hit Kang-woo’s chest, prompting him to laugh.
"Hey, stop saying such misleading things. If anyone heard you, they’d misunderstand."
"But I meant what I said," Kang-woo said, his grip on Chin-hwa’s waist tightening. "I’ll take responsibility for your numb legs. I’ll carry you."
Chin-hwa pouted. Even though he said it like that, his heart still wouldn’t give it a rest.
"It’s not like my legs will stay numb or anything," he muttered. "Just, let go. Let’s stand first."
Instead of letting go, Kang-woo’s grip tightened even more, confusing Chin-hwa.
"Hey, if you don’t let go, how will I get up?" Chin-hwa asked but Kang-woo did not say anything, simply gazing into Chin-hwa’s eyes and conveying a message without words.
Chin-hwa got the message and sighed.
"Fine, but just for a minute," he said. "And then you’ll let go."
Kang-woo reached his hand for the back of Chin-hwa’s head and pressed his head to his chest.
"Yes, just one minute," Kang-woo said and closed his eyes.
Chin-hwa’s ears were directly pressed to Kang-woo’s chest where he could hear his heart beat loud and clear. It was beating so hard... And fast.
Was he nervous?
Well, who wouldn’t be in a situation like that? His own heart was also running a marathon.
’Just what is he thinking?’ Chin-hwa thought. ’Or is he actually hurt and wants to hide it from me?’ he raised his head. "This won’t do." But Kang-woo pressed his head back to his chest, saying,
"One minute isn’t over yet," Kang-woo said but Chin-hwa couldn’t possibly remain in that position any longer.
His heart would betray him at any moment. For now, Kang-woo’s own heartbeat was masking his. But what if...?
The door swung open, revealing Ga-ram who asked,
"So, are you kids done yet?" He asked but there was no response. He immediately noticed them on the floor, in that position, with Chin-hwa wishing the ground would just open up and swallow him, and cleared his throat. "Ahem, sorry to interrupt."
"Please, you weren’t interrupting anything." Chin-hwa said, finally able to get off Kang-woo since he had released his grip.
Kang-woo also got up but he was looking rather unsatisfied.
Ga-ram understood that look on his face and bit his lips.
’Ou, it seems like I came at a really wrong time. I hope my darling son doesn’t hate me for ruining his moment.’ he folded one of his arms and scratched his temple with his index finger. ’But how was I supposed to know they would be having a moment? Jeez, kids these days sure act fast.’ he opened his eyes and said, "If you guys aren’t done, I’ll leave you to it and..."
"No, we’re done." Chin-hwa interrupted him, looking quite flushed. "We were just about to come down for dinner."
He rushed out the door, leaving Ga-ram and Kang-woo in the room.
Kang-woo sighed and finally stood to his feet.
"Son?"
"It’s fine, it’s not like anything was going to happen anyway," Kang-woo said and then looked at his hand, clenching as if trying to get a hold of something. "I haven’t worked up the courage to take that step yet so..." He raised his head and smiled at his mother. "...you didn’t ruin anything."
He walked past Ga-ram who exhaled. Kids’ problems were so hard to deal with. There was his son He-Nari, who was passing through some sort of ’phase’, and then there was Kang-woo, who had a problem with his love life.
He couldn’t even help either of them because as a perfectly groomed Omega, he never really had the privilege of going through a phase or rebelling. And as for his love life... Well, he just got his husband after a one-night stand, and they hit it off from there after they found out he was pregnant.
So, how was he going to support his kids?
He could ask Hae-won for help but he was sure Hae-won didn’t have the answers either, seeing that Chin-hwa was still in the love mess that he was in.
Once again, he sighed.
Guess they would just have to leave their problems to them, hoping they finally fixed it and stop hurting each other.
Chin-hwa called home that he would spend the night in Kang-woo’s place so Yun-tae could sleep in his room. Though Yun-tae wished he were there with them, he knew time was of the essence, and they wanted to practice as hard as they could.
That evening, after dinner, there were enough more ’accidents’ and they were both able to pick up their instruments and practice their roles.
Chin-hwa sang. At first, when Kang-woo heard him sing the note, he paused. It had been a while since he heard Chin-hwa sing so maybe that was why he felt so touched.
His voice was so clear and melodious. He has such raw talent that those in the music industry would be envious.
"So, how’s that?" Chin-hwa asked Kang-woo but was surprised to find him lost in thoughts. "Hey, were you spacing out?" He asked and was about to lecture Kang-woo when Kang-woo hugged him.
"Sorry, just... Let me stay like this for a while."
Chin-hwa was still quite confused. What was up with Kang-woo? It was like... He wanted to be in his arms every moment he got.
He raised his hands and started patting his back.
"There, there. It’s okay." He said.
’Sorry, Hwa, it’s your pheromones,’ Kang-woo thought, tightening his grip. ’It draws me and calms me down. I... Want to sink in your scent for a bit longer.’
That episode passed quite quickly and then when they were done practicing, Kang-woo slept in the guest room while Chin-hwa slept in Kang-woo’s room.
Kang-woo was kicked out of his own room by his mother. Such was life.
Chin-hwa didn’t sleep early though. The fact that he was in Kang-woo’s room made it very difficult. His pheromones and everything about him were in that room and his heightened senses wouldn’t let him be.
"Maybe this wasn’t such a good idea," he thought out loud. Yes, he loved his pheromones but too much of it would drive him crazy.
Who knew the kind of obscure and prevented thoughts that were evading his mind? He was heavily tempted, yet he did not want to fall for such temptations.
Even when he tried to cover his face went the pillows, they were filtered with his scent as well. Fed up with holding back, he got up.
"I can’t do this."
Slowly and sneakily, he exited the room and went to the room Kang-woo was sleeping in. He knocked on the door,, and Kang-woo, who was still wide awake, got up from his bed and went to the door, only to open it and find Chin-hwa standing there while twisting his toes nervously.
He couldn’t even make eye contact properly
"Hwa?" He called. "What are you doing here?"
"Well," Chin-hwa finally raised his head, showing off a vulnerable side of him, and said, "I couldn’t sleep... Alone."
That was a lie. He just couldn’t sleep in a room that was filled with Kang-woo’s pheromones without having continuous perverted thoughts. It would’ve been a whole different story if Kang-woo was there with him.
At least, with another present, he wouldn’t even think of putting his hands on his own body to masturbate.
"So, do you want to come in?" Kang-woo asked quite calmly. "Or should we go to my room?"
Chin-hwa pouted his lips.
"Why are you so awfully calm about this?" He asked, and Kang-woo laughed.
"Well, I can’t say I didn’t see this coming." He said and lowered his head. He tapped Chin-hwa’s head with his index finger and said, "You’ve never slept in this house without me by my side; and just because we’re a bit older doesn’t change that fact now, does it?"
"But it’s not like I’m scared or anything so don’t get the wrong idea." Chin-hwa said, desperately hoping he did not misunderstand and Kang-woo nodded.
"Of course, that’s not the case. My Hwa isn’t scared of anything." He said, causing Chin-hwa to sigh in relief. "You just... feel more comfortable with me by your side."
Chin-hwa blushed but looked away.
"Stop giving yourself credit." He said. "It’s the same story for you too. You’re a lot more comfortable when I’m right beside you."
Kang-woo agreed with a smile and grabbed Chin-hwa’s hand.
"Then, don’t waste any more time here and come in." He pulled Chin-hwa in and closed the door.
