This Life, I Will Be the Protagonist-Chapter 1237 Divine Game: Divine Instruction 51
"Still haven’t found your divine talent word?"
While dodging Dark Mistblade’s attacks, Rita tried hacking at the crimson chains.
"Yep. I’m just that mysterious and complicated of a woman."
Mistblade sighed.
"I thought after Quiet Mountain you might have matured a little."
Rita remembered what Y128 had once said.
"The story of Uncharted Star Sea is still going. There will always be new stories."
Returning from Quiet Mountain to Uncharted Star Sea felt like leaving a peaceful hidden paradise and stepping back into a war-torn ruin. The noise of life flooded over her again. Some loud, some warm, some painful.
Every time she wrote a World Sigh.
Every time she flipped a coin into the air.
It felt like coloring a black and white painting.
Mistblade said flatly, "So now you’re blaming Uncharted Star Sea for your habit of talking nonsense?"
"Blaming you works too," Rita replied casually. "Someone has to carry the burden for me."
At the same time she tried something new.
She activated Flower of Deceit, attempting to turn the chains into apples.
If the Warden existed to capture escaped Prisoners, then the Mistblade bound by chains should also count as a kind of Prisoner.
If someone was going to escape, they might as well all escape together.
Click.
A soft unlocking sound echoed.
The crimson chains wrapped around the Moon Fox vanished and turned into a golden apple.
Rita stared at the apple in her hand.
Mistblade, newly freed, stared back.
Dark Mistblade arrived instantly, blades descending.
One aimed at BS Rita.
The other aimed at Mistblade’s real body.
Rita took a bite from the apple and started running.
Mistblade followed right behind her.
"She’s attacking you too?" Rita asked while chewing.
The sound of chains sliding through empty space echoed again.
Mistblade shot her a look that clearly said she was not going to reveal the weakness of her skill in public.
Rita glanced at the number above Mistblade’s head.
She tried using Moment of Reversal.
Under this game’s special rules, the skill counted as only a single valid hit.
Their health did not swap.
Mistblade simply lost one point of health.
But Rita’s eyes lit up.
Finally she was not the one losing health.
She stuffed the half-eaten apple into her mouth, crossed her twin swords, and unleashed another Caged Bird.
Fresh crimson chains descended from the void and bound Mistblade again.
The glow between Mistblade’s brows flickered.
All the illuminated portions had vanished, leaving only the outline.
Dark Mistblade reached her side and smoothly turned mid-charge, drifting straight toward Rita instead.
Lightning detonated as countless flower birds exploded across the arena.
Neither Mistblade took damage.
Rita glanced at the remaining half of the apple in her hand.
She decided not to finish it.
After running for half a minute while holding the apple, it transformed back into crimson chains.
Rita immediately wrapped them several times around her own wrist.
Then she slowed down and waited for Dark Mistblade to catch up.
Not far away, the chained Mistblade looked at her with a complicated expression.
What was that look?
Was she impressed that BS Rita had already discovered the fatal flaw in the Warden ability?
Rita stood there seriously.
Then Dark Mistblade’s blade came down right in front of her face.
Oh.
So that had been the look someone gives an idiot.
Rita turned and ran again.
Right now even activating Wildfire Rekindled would not help.
As long as she could not break the strange rule where attacking Dark Mistblade counted as attacking herself, there was no way to end this.
Divine talent word.
Divine talent word.
Once a divine talent became strong enough, only another divine talent could counter it.
QM Maple Syrup and QM Mistblade had barely awakened theirs.
But QM Rita’s Extra Chapter had been unstoppable even for Deceitful Bloom.
And that had been a weakened Deceitful Bloom.
Player?
Wildfire?
Order?
Restart?
None of them felt right.
None of them stirred her soul flame.
Rita could not figure out her divine talent word.
She also could not find the Warden’s weakness.
Her skills did nothing to Mistblade’s real body.
But attacking Dark Mistblade only hurt herself.
"Escaped Prisoner..."
Suddenly Rita turned and sprinted toward Mistblade’s chained body.
As she ran, her form shrank.
She transformed into an orchid mantis.
A tiny mantis no more than five centimeters long dove straight into Mistblade’s nine fluffy tails.
The little insect vanished instantly inside the fur.
It crawled toward a chain wrapped around one of the tails and squeezed into a gap, letting the blood-red mist from the chain envelop her completely.
Mistblade stared in silence.
The moment the mantis entered her tails, all nine tails began whipping wildly.
Partly because it tickled.
Mostly because she knew Rita’s attempt had worked.
BS Rita’s presence vanished beneath the crimson chains.
She was now completely covered by the chains’ aura.
The system had judged her as a captured Prisoner.
This Prisoner branch ability was not fully evolved yet.
The incomplete Warden left Mistblade unable to control the chains.
She could only watch as the Warden returned to her own body.
The moment Dark Mistblade disappeared, the crimson chains dissolved as well.
The orchid mantis did not jump out.
Still clinging to a fox tail, Rita crossed her forelimbs and activated Caged Bird in mantis form.
Vine and lightning were her companion elements.
She did not need swords to use them. 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ𝑤𝑒𝑏𝑛𝘰𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝒸𝑜𝘮
Her left forelimb became lightning.
Her right forelimb became flowers.
In an instant, white flower birds swirled around the Moon Fox while golden lightning gathered above her head.
Mistblade had no Prisoner left to use.
Of course she still possessed many powerful survival skills.
But the 1000 intelligence limit reduced her mana pool and sealed off most of them.
Warden had already consumed a massive amount of mana.
She was currently using a skill to recover it.
BS Rita was probably in the same situation.
If Rita had enough mana, she would have already cast a full arena Caged Bird.
Mistblade instantly dissolved into mist and scattered.
The orchid mantis fell to the ground.
That was exactly the moment Rita had been waiting for.
Less than five minutes remained in the match.
The difference between their health totals was still over 200.
No matter what she did, Rita could never land two hundred valid hits in five minutes.
She had been waiting for this mist.
Caged Bird dispersed.
A rune lit up on her wrist.
Mana surged instantly, filling her entire mana bar.
The stored power of Periodic Savings.
Cured But Salivating.
Just to be safe, Rita used the ultimate version.
The next second, every player in the arena heard Mistblade’s voice.
"I surrender. If the system doesn’t count this as a loss, I’ll die right here."
Congratulations. Player BS Rita wins.
