Young Master Vance Has An Enchanting Wife!-Chapter 469: Forced Interrogation
"Young Master, you haven’t eaten anything for almost two days. How about having something first?" Jacob Jennings placed the bowl of porridge in front of Vincent Vance, gesturing to him.
Vincent Vance had no appetite for food. He was filled with sorrow, wishing he could die with May Morgan just like that.
"I can’t eat, take it away," Vincent Vance coldly refused.
Jacob Jennings glanced at May Morgan and deliberately observed her skin exposed under the wedding dress. Indeed, it’s been two days and one night, yet May’s skin remained smooth and delicate as before her death, without any sign of cadaveric lividity or rigidity.
He purposely seized the moment when Vincent Vance wasn’t paying attention to hold May’s hand. Though her fingers were cold, they were still soft, not showing signs of postmortem rigidity.
"Young Master, don’t you find it strange?" Jacob Jennings, after letting go of May’s hand, looked at Vincent Vance solemnly and deliberately asked.
Vincent Vance frowned at Jacob Jennings, perplexed, asking: "What do you mean?"
Jacob Jennings seriously explained to Vincent Vance: "Two days and one night, May has been dead for two days and one night. Ordinarily, her body should already have signs of cadaveric lividity and rigidity. Why is her skin still smooth like jade, even elastic? Haven’t you noticed anything unusual here?"
Upon hearing this, Vincent Vance’s eyes suddenly brightened. He immediately stood up from the chair, excitedly: "Are you saying May might still be alive?"
Now, any news suggesting May might still be alive was extremely good news for Vincent Vance.
Because nothing was more important than May being alive.
Jacob Jennings shared his understanding and analysis with Vincent Vance: "That’s what I think, given everything that’s happened, we might need to interpret what’s happening with a mindset beyond normal understanding. Why did May die? Who killed her? Have you investigated? Also, is her non-rigid state due to the power of the Dragon Insect inside her, or was the poisoner aiming for something else?"
"I’ve got it!" Jacob Jennings’ words instantly enlightened Vincent Vance. He sighed deeply, excitedly holding May’s hand and gently kissing her forehead: "May, wait for me to return, I’ll avenge you."
Vincent Vance instructed Jacob Jennings to visit the hospital where May stayed previously to retrieve the surveillance footage from that day, but upon arrival, Jacob Jennings was told someone had already taken the footage.
Knowing this matter had something amiss, Jacob Jennings, after consulting Vincent Vance, gathered people from the hospital, listing those who visited the surveillance room that day, eventually spotting Adam Owens’ name among them.
Adam Owens came over? Why did he go to retrieve the surveillance footage? To help avenge May? Could it be that if he really got the surveillance footage, he wouldn’t discuss the next step with Vincent Vance first?
Jacob Jennings dared not conceal the matter of Adam Owens taking the footage and called Vincent Vance to inform him. Vincent Vance was suddenly reminded of Adam’s hesitant demeanor that day and immediately understood.
"Young Master, should we call Adam and ask him to bring over the surveillance video for you?" Jacob Jennings cautiously suggested to Vincent Vance.
Vincent Vance’s expression darkened, decisively saying: "No need, we’ll go directly to the Owens Family to demand it."
Quickly, Vincent Vance stormed into the Owens Family’s door with Jacob Jennings.
Audrey Vance was sitting in the living room chatting with Adam’s grandmother. Seeing Vincent Vance’s grim look as he kicked in the door, she was startled: "Vincent, you, why did you come in without knocking?"
Vincent Vance coldly swept his gaze over Audrey and Adam’s grandmother, sternly questioning them: "Where’s Adam?"
Knowing Vincent Vance came with ill intentions, Audrey Vance realized something big was going to happen and quickly tried to placate Vincent: "If you have anything, you can talk to me the same way!"
After saying this, she immediately signaled the servant beside her to send a message to Adam, telling him to hide: "Quickly go make Young Master Vance some coffee!"
"Yes!" The servant, following Audrey’s orders, hurriedly ran upstairs.
Vincent Vance wouldn’t allow any chance for communication, grabbing her arm and tossing her aside, heading straight to Adam’s bedroom.
Adam’s bedroom was on the second floor, immediately accessible upon ascending. By the time Audrey caught up in fright, Vincent had already kicked open the door.
Adam was currently conversing with Maxwell Vance in the room. They likely had a quarrel, as their expressions were terrible, surprised by Vincent’s abrupt entrance.
Maxwell shrank back in fear upon seeing his brother’s grim demeanor, wishing he could find a back door to escape.
"Vin, Vincent, why are you here? Where’s May?" Adam hesitated in speech, seemingly having done something wrong toward Vincent, even his gaze was evasive.
Seeing him like this, Vincent Vance knew he was hiding something. Since childhood, Adam was never a scheming child; whatever was on his mind often showed on his face.
"Is it you who took the surveillance video from the hospital?" Vincent Vance pulled a chair and sat in front of them, sternly questioning Adam.
Upon hearing about the surveillance video, both Adam and Maxwell showed signs of panic, which Vincent keenly observed.
"Yes..." Realizing he couldn’t escape, Adam clenched his fist and confessed to Vincent.
"Hand it over!" Vincent Vance coolly stretched out his hand, indicating for Adam to give the disc.
Adam turned and glanced at the severely destroyed disc in the trash can, hesitated, and said: "It’s destroyed..."
Vincent Vance casually glanced at the shattered disc in the trash can and continued to question Adam: "Did you destroy it?" Adam laboriously glanced at Maxwell, then at her slightly swollen belly, finally nodding with gritted teeth: "I accidentally..."
Before he finished speaking, Vincent suddenly kicked his leg, forcing Adam to kneel before him, terrifying Maxwell into shaking all over.
"Brother, what are you doing?" Seeing Vincent about to abuse Adam further, Maxwell was scared and immediately squatted down, holding Adam’s arm.
"What am I doing? Avenge May!" Turning around, Vincent looked at Jacob Jennings beside him, who hurried over to Adam’s side, grabbing his right arm and suddenly twisting it, directly dislocating his arm.
"Ah——!" Adam’s scream from the pain alerted Audrey outside the door, and Adam’s grandmother being slowly helped upstairs began to panic.
"Vincent, open the door, what’s happened to my grandson for you to torture him like this?" Adam’s grandmother gasping outside, loudly pounding on the door and shouting.
