Chapter 607: Alix and the captain vs Afaro.

The screams and alarms started going off just as Alix was finishing her poison distribution. She had not yet neutralized Afaro and his guards, which was a deliberate move on her part. The captain needed to work out some of his aggression while she wanted to test out the strength of the guards and Afaro personally.

Because of the noise, it became noticeable that a lot of people in the stadium were no longer moving, they were as stiff as corpses with the exception of their eyes which were roaming around in fear.

The previously loud stadium was now filled with an eerie silence as they became alerted to a looming danger. Those that had not been paralyzed by the poison resorted to screaming and running which made them easy targets for the soldiers who shot them with bullets that paralyzed them as well.

At least Alix’s poison was painless, the one coated on the bullets was more deadly, and the infected parties were howling in pain.

Afaro’s guards surrounded him, meanwhile, protecting him as if he was such a precious fragile item that could not be harmed.

Their weapons pointed outward as they looked around nervously. It was not their plan to move if they did not set their eyes on the attackers lest they head directly into the danger.

"Who dares to trespass in my territory?" Afaro yelled out.

He unleashed some of his power and the sea trembled, shaking the town as a wave of water swept through. It bounced back against an energy shield which Alix had recently acquired from the prison dungeon.

She smiled cunningly when she saw the shock on Afaro’s face. Without access to a great deal of water, he was not the god of the sea but the god of a small stream.

"Reveal yourselves." he ordered.

The captain was so ready for the reveal and he pulled back the hood raincoat, disabling the invisibility feature as well.

His face was now visible to Afaro and his women plus his guards.

"Hello Afaro, remember me?"

Afaro reacted as Alix expected, he smirked arrogantly. It was as expected of somebody that considered himself a god, he thought he was invincible.

"The captain, i don’t remember you but i do remember your wife." he taunted. "She had particularly soft skin and made the softest and sweetest cries..."

The captain growled and propelled himself towards Afaro like a bullet. He was filled with so much anger and blind to see that he was just sending himself into a trap. Before reaching Afaro, the school of mega sharks heading their way would kill him first. There were at least fifty sharks, all were meant to participate in the fights and they had been held in a large water tank.

Afaro intended to use them to deal with the captain.

Alix threw a box device out and it caught up with the captain, trapping him inside. It was translucent so he could see the outside world but couldn’t escape.

She got her flute and started playing a gentle melody, confusing the sharks, breaking their communication with Afaro. Suddenly, they turned on each other and started biting each other, ripping off chucks of flesh from each other.

"All those shark fins being wasted, tsk, tsk." The system commented.

Alix did not bless the foolishness with a response, eating shark fins was not what was on her mind at the moment. She released the captain as he was now calmer than before.

Afaro was glaring at the captain. "Who did you bring with you?"

The captain propelled himself straight in Afaro’s direction again, not responding to the question. The half shark creatures started shooting at him but bullets from a different direction were aimed their way and turned to the right where the bullets were coming from.

They were coming from a small ship on which Caishen was aboard. Surprisingly, he had excellent aim and hit all his targets with precision.

Afaro let loose a roar that could have split the sky open if possible, he raised his hands and colossal waves of water crushed against the barrier Alix had put up. He was practically commanding the sea to sweep over the arena but the barrier remained intact, which frustrated him.

"It’s impossible." he muttered.

Alix cackled loudly, enjoying herself thoroughly, it was as if Afaro was trying to break a boulder with an egg. A part of her suddenly understood why some of the strong system hosts saw themselves as gods, having this much power over someone else was exhilarating.

"Its also the beginning of a system host losing their way, fight it." her system warned.

Alix took a deep breath to clam herself, her heartbeat had been increasing a little too much. While the captain engaged the half human-half seahorse creatures, she regained a hold of herself.

She revealed herself, finally for Afaro to see and immediately, the two mermaids by his side hissed and started swimming in her direction at incredible speed. She put away the flute and got her guns, with a cold look in her eyes, she fired two bullets, hitting the two mermaids in the forehead directly.

They were clones, she could not feel guilty about killing something that was not exactly human.

"It’s impossible." Afaro roared.

He was furious even more because the death of his two wives. They were special creatures, injected with all sorts of drugs and their DNA had been altered. In the water, they were invincible, faster than any bullet known to man.

They had people in the hidden city labs and they knew all the guns that the bureau had, none of them could have done what Alix’s gun had done. Had their spies omitted information or been caught already?

He convinced himself that the spies had been caught otherwise, the bureau would not have found its way to the real underground.

Afaro used his power to pull back the bodies of the dead mermaids, when he looked at their heads which had been shredded by the bullets he was pained even more.

"You have killed my wives." he pointed the trident at Alix and accused. freeweɓnøvel.com

"I have." she admitted. "You did the same to his wife so don’t feel wronged."

She pointed to the captain that had just ripped one of the seahorse men into two pieces so easily. The man was incredibly strong, even more than Caishen.

Afaro had taunted the captain with the murder of his wife, she had just given him a taste of his medicine. At least she had not peeled their fish skin off to see what lay beneath the surface.

She pointed the guns at him and smirked as he had done at the captain.

"False god, it’s your turn, are you going to surrender or do i have to make a few cuts on your body. You should know that resisting is futile, i have cut you off from all water and we have seized your town.

Without water you are useless, basically a fish waiting to be grilled with my dragon flames. So, get on your knees and surrender peacefully. It is better to be taken alive by me as you are than in two pieces because the captain does not intend to take you back as a whole."
