Mantis nodded, indeed she had leaped to the wrong conclusion, they could not be going after Genesis on their own. But if they were not going after Genesis then it had to be Afaro or the unknown mysterious system host everyone knew about but could never identify.

"Who is it then?"

"Who does the captain want most?" Abby quizzed and hinted at the same time.

"Afaro." her eyes narrowed.

Those that were close to the captain knew the reason why and they understood the captain’s thirst for Afaro’s blood. Afaro had murdered his wife gruesomely, in a way that had left them all shocked and frightened.

She was pregnant at the time but he did not show mercy, he had peeled her skin off as if he was skinning a fish for dinner. Then he gouged her eyes out and left her to bleed out. It had been a slow painful death for her, a brutal one that was undeserved.

He had recorded it all and sent a video to the captain who had rushed home and found her taking her last breath.

Mantis recalled the memory of the body at the crime scene and felt rage and bile rise up in her throat.

"Excuse me," she said brusquely to Abby and rushed off to the bathroom.

In there, she vomited, emptying her stomach of everything she had eaten at the wedding. When she was done, she rinsed her mouth and leaned back against the bathroom wall.

It was not going to be just any battle, it was going to be a bloody one. The captain was going to do to Afaro exactly what he had done to his wife only, he was going to leave him alive and drag the torture out for years.

"How did she find him?" she whispered to herself.

She was thinking of Alix, wondering how she had found Afaro. How had she succeeded where every bureau and watcher and tacker had failed?She did not have the answer but the belief that Alix deserved to be bureau president was cemented in her mind further. Her abilities were really spread out and her sense of justice was on point.

She returned and sat down with more questions for Abby but he was gone. Mantis took the blanket he had left behind and she covered herself with it. Before a battle, it was better to rest and save up on energy.

She had to be at her best if she was to be useful to the team.

At the wedding, some guests were bidding the two families goodbye to return to their homes. As expected of two wealthy families, the guests did not leave empty handed.

The Tai family gave out some jewelry as souvenirs and the Zhang family gave a bottle of wine. On receiving the gifts, many people were impressed, especially those that were not on the same financial level as the families.

The teachers from school that had been invited by Alix were certainly blown away. All the women had received gold or silver pendants and the men got cuflinks or rings.

The teachers had come as a group and left as a group, sharing one van that belonged to the school. The driver was going to drop them off at their homes, one at a time.

The moment they entered the van, they opened the gift bags they had received and each revealed what they had received.

"As expected of two rich families, they did not even skim on souvenirs." one commented.

A woman put the gold necklace in her mouth and bit it with her teeth.

"It’s real gold." she declared.

One of the male teachers that was trying on the gold and black cufflinks looked up and laughed.

"Can you taste the quality of gold with your teeth? Teacher Yinli, you must have special taste buds."

Another female teacher sighed loudly, stars in her eyes. "The director really looked beautiful today, i never realized that she had skin as fair as that. I wonder what she uses."

"The director has always been beautiful, your eyes just didn’t stare at her long enough. You should try a cream from her mall, i bought one two months ago and my skin has really improved." Another female teacher replied.

While the women moved closer to look at her skin, one of the male teachers had a different question.

"Where do you think they are going for their honeymoon?"

None of the others knew but it did not stop them from making guesses. The same question was on the lips of Du Fuzi who was at that exact moment asking Tai Fong.

The Tai brothers, Caishen’s friends and Alix’s friends had all somehow come together as the party started winding up. Most of them had booked rooms at the hotel for the night so they were in no hurry to retire just yet.

They were drinking wine and eating left over cake, gathered around three tables that had been pushed together.

Tai Fong when asked the question had no answer and he just shrugged.

"Paris is big, not all of it is as great as it people think." Du Fuzi told her.

He yanked her arm and put it in his, causing a few eyebrows to move up.

"Forget Paris, what’s going on with you two?" Tai Jiaan asked.

"It’s not for kids to know." Jin Kang retorted.

The response elicited some chuckles from the others at the tables.

"So she can keep a secret." Tai Jiaan mumbled.

Holea choked on her wine and some people laughed loudly while Jin Kang glared at Tai Jiaan. The kid had a smart mouth which needed to be pinched.

"We are dating." Du Fuzi shared. He looked at Jin Kang and smiled before turning his eyes to his friends that looked skeptical. "Seriously." he added.

"No way, three month Du is breaking his own rules!!! i cannot believe this." Tai Fong exploded. "Bro, keep the passwords to your bank safes away from her or the Du empire will come crushing down."

"You!!" Mantos, hissed at him and she huffed, irritated slightly.

At this point she came to a realization that the Tai brothers were menaces and her enemies.

"It’s okay baby, you already know all my passwords." Fuzi comforted her gently. Jin Kang blushed and hid her face behind a glass of wine.

The others made hooligan like noises and teased the couple.

"We are kidding of course." Tai Dishi spoke on behalf of the brothers.

This was their sister’s best friend so she was considered half a sister to them.

"Okay, okay, so what do you think the happy couple is doing right now?" Rongyan asked.

Some of them had answers to that question that they did not share with the others, the answer was inappropriate with children around.

"Probably sleeping, after a wedding, you have no energy for anything other than that." Tai Change spoke, sharing from his personal experience.

"Sleep is for the weak." Tai Fong snickered. He was shuffling cards,preparing to play a game with the others. It was a little boring to just drink and talk.

Just before the cards were distributed, Zhang Bo looked around, his eyes in search of his son. Xiaobo was holding his own gathering with the younger children. As the oldest in the group, he was showing off his weak martial arts skills pretentiously again.

"Aah, that kid." Zhang Bo muttered.

He could see a future where the Zhang An/Tai Alix package was renamed the Zhang Xiaobo package.
