Chapter 602: The captain’s vegeance on the way.

The bride and groom were the first to leave the party when the sun started setting, leaving behind guests that were still having a good time. The reason why they had to go was because the captain had grown impatient. Waiting was really not his strongest trait, he had even shown up in person to pick them up.

Caishen had been hoping for a sweet wedding night with his beautiful bride but it was no longer in the works. As they drove away from the hotel, he kept glaring at the captain but the man paid him no mind. All he had on his mind was red, the color, as he was thinking of blood. It was the blood he was going to make Afaro bleed, just as had been done to his wife.

It had been a fifteen year long wait, but it had finally come.

However, just like her husband, Alix had been hoping for a different kind of wedding night, not to be whisked away in her wedding gown to do battle.

"Err...can’t we just go tomorrow?"

’No." the captain answered in a slightly curt voice.

No matter what excuse she made or how she pleaded, they were going. Her, Caishen and Majesty were all taken to the hidden city, transported to an underwater ship. Alix offered the directions to where they would be going, it would be a three hour journey.

She pulled Caishen to the room they had been assigned and locked the door, three hours was a lot of time and they still had a wedding night to celebrate.

The ship sailed at a moderate speed despite the fact that it could have gone much faster thanks to the interstellar technology which had gone into its building. It was very large and armed heavily as it was a battle ship, not an ordinary one.

To capture someone like Afaro, the captain had decided to go all out. He had brought along a team of his most trusted people, those whose lips were sealed so tight that they could not reveal the mission to anyone. Afaro was known for being as slippery as Genesis.

Rumors always put them in one direction when they were in another. The two were as slippery as eels, not even their true gender was known. It was a miracle to him that Alix had found Afaro and was certain he was still at the same location.

Abby had of course come along with the captain, and he was lounging in a chair, his body covered in a green blanket as he watched footage of Wukong’s funeral on a laptop.

Mantis that was sitting behind him was restless, she didn’t like this kind of mission where she didn’t know where she was going or what she would be walking into. This mission was too secretive that they had all left clones of themselves behind in the hidden city, in their apartments to deceive the others.

Even their watches, smart phones and any gadget that could give away their location had been left behind. As far as everyone knew, they had simply returned from the wedding completely exhausted and then went off to rest.

She could smell danger in the air, especially since Alix and her cat had come along.

She kicked the back of Abby’s seat due to restlessness.

"Yo, where are we going?"

Abby’s chair turned around automatically at the press of a button and he looked at Mantis lazily. "Look at the big map on the screen, it points to where we are going. Have you become dumber lately?"

Mantis kicked him in the knee and Abby stayed still, not bothering to dodge it.

"I mean, who are we going after? Two hours ago, there was an explosion at three oil fields in Ghana which are owned by the African continent’s family. A one Mr. James Obi was rushed to the hospital forty minutes later with life threatening injuries.

All fingers are pointing to the Bishop family which they have been negotiating with for rights over the oil fields. Apparently, a private plane belonging to the Obi family left Ghana twenty minutes ago, carrying a team of twelve special soldiers. It’s destination is supposedly America, so everyone thinks they are going after the Bishop’s."

Abby raised a hand, stopping Mantis. "How is this related to us?"

She raised her eyebrows. "Seriously! are you going to tell me that we are not involved? Look at us, we are on a secret battle ship heading to some place i don’t know. Are we taking on the six families?"

Abby leaned forward and Mantis leaned back, avoiding his index finger that was on a mission to poke her forehead.

"You are slightly clever but mostly dumb." Abby told her and he laughed. "If we were going to deal with the six families, we would not have brought Alix along. If she is seen anywhere next to them and something like what happened in Germany happens, obviously the story will be spun in a negative light. She will be called another Genesis on a power trip and a murderer. We are going after a god."

Mantis sat upright and her eyebrows shot up immediately. Gods!!! he was talking about those narcissistic system hosts that were close to Genesis and thought they were better than everyone else.

Those lunatics were the ones hoping to overturn the world and become rulers, immortal kings if possible.

"There are five system hosts that call themselves gods, two have fallen with one actually dying. This leaves Afaro is who mysterious, one is unknown and the last is Genesis." ƒreewebɳovel.com

Weather boy was now a waste and Wukong was the dead god. In all her time with the bureau, Afaro’s true location had never been leaked, the unknown system host was a myth that could not be traced and only Genesis had come close to being captured by different bureaus all the world a few times.

She gasped and her eyes widened. "Are we going after Genesis? Is this real, has he been found after all this time? Fruit!! this is exciting, i get to be on the front lines and participate in the capture of the most notorious system host of our time."

Abby rolled his eyes. "Dumb." he muttered.

Mantis pouted and she huffed. She really found Abby Chung annoying sometimes because he thought he was wiser than everyone around him.

"Yes, i am wiser." he smirked.

Mantis covered her forehead with her hands as if that could stop Abby from reading her mind. It was a futile effort effort so she sighed and dropped them.

"If we were going after Genesis, we would have come with at least ten battle ships and a lot more people. You need an army to take down a man with his own army and there are only one hundred ten of us on this ship. Do you think we are equipped to take down Genesis?"
