The Young master's fake bride and her lucky system-Chapter 601: Conclusion of the wedding.
Chapter 601: Conclusion of the wedding.
Within two hours and a half, all formalities were finished and the couple was invited out to have their first dance. Not surprising, Rain and Chan Ki were the singers at the wedding.
Rain had volunteered while Chan Ki had been requested by Yura to sing at the wedding. It was also not surprising that the two chose an original love ballad composed specifically for the couple.
The moment the couple came together under the spotlight which was the twinkling of soft lights, casting an intimate air over them. A gentle piano melody echoed in the air and Rain started singing.
Alix and Caishen clasped their hands together and locked gazes. She smiled radiantly at him, covering up the fact that she had no idea how to move except swaying from side to side.
"We did not practice for this."
"Just follow my lead and keep doing what you are doing." Caishen replied.
He put a hand on her waist and pulled her close and they moved gracefully, step by step in sync. They kept their eyes on each other, beaming with happiness as everyone and everything else faded away leaving them in a two person world.
"I really wish i could stop time right now." he laughed nervously and said.
"We will just pause the video later when we watch it." she answered.
He spun her around gently and her dress swayed with every turn. The crowd was quiet, all eyes on the couple as if time had come to a standstill.
Auntie Mo was still dabbing at the tears in her eyes which had not stopped flowing from the moment Alix appeared. Chairman Tai was wiping them away for her but he was just as emotional, he didn’t know that giving away a daughter’s hand in marriage could be so heartbreaking and joyful at the same time.
Nothing was going to change in their relationship, Alix was not going anywhere but he was feeling as if she was about go get on a space ship and move to the moon.
The host of the wedding asked everyone to join them out on the dance floor. Chairman Tai got up eagerly.
"Miss Fox." he said to his wife.
"I will be happy to Mr. Knight." she answered.
They moved to the open dance floor with smiles on their faces, looking like a couple very much in love. The Tai elders and their sons also followed with their spouses.
Their children that remained back had looks of disbelief on their faces, especially as regards to Chairman Tai and auntie Mo.
"They are really rubbing it in our faces, aren’t they?" Tai Dalian muttered.
He was one of the few that had yet to get a system and he was not jealous, he was okay with waiting until Alix found the perfect one for him. His uncle and aunt however were really overdoing it.
Miss Fox, Mr. Knight!!!! when did they start referring to themselves in such a way?
Those who had wives and girlfriends and also happened to be in the mood to dance joined the crowd while the ones that had no interest stayed back to eat, drink and chat with family and friends.
The Zhang elders did not join others in dancing, they stayed in their chairs and received felicitation from their friends.
Most of them skipped the wedding and went directly to congratulating them on the five babies Alix was expecting. With the bright smile on the face of grandma Zhang as she accepted the sweet congratulatory words, you would think that she was the expectant mother.
Everyone at the wedding had a smile on their face with the exception of Zhang Lei and her daughter. Nobody even knew why they had chosen to attend or why Zhang Lei was wearing what was obviously a wig on her head. Nobody cared anyway, they were there for the couple not sour faced relatives.
"It’s time to cut the cake, everyone return to your seats." The host announced.
Alix was excited, she had been waiting to taste the cake which her mother had assured her would blow her mind.

Outside the hotel, system hosts from the hidden city were on patrol. Security for the day was tight, Caishen had paid the bureau to ensure that absolutely nothing went wrong. The system hosts guarding the venue were on the ground outside the hotel, on different balconies of rooms in the hotel, in the kitchen, the parking lot and every floor of the hotel.
They had even infiltrated the security team in the surveillance room. One of the conference rooms was being used as an information and surveillance center.
The captain had not attended Wukong’s funeral and chosen to come and watch over Alix, she was more important for that attainment of his personal goals. Even Abby that was by his side fifty percent of the time was with him on this day.
Abby was playing around with a pair of knuckles, sitting in a chair with his feet on a small glass table as he watched live footage of the weeding, specifically the happy bride that was stuffing a large serving of cake in her husband’s mouth.
"Isn’t it ironic that she is celebrating while Wukong is....well he is dead so he is probably not crying. Life is really funny, someone is being cremated at this very minute. Someone else is getting married and out there in a hospital somewhere, a child is being born."
The captain turned his head with a frown on his face, not understanding the philosophy or whatever it was that Abby was trying to convey.
"Something is going on with that family." Abby pointed one of the knuckles at the screen.
He was pointing at the Tai’s, there was something off about some of them but he just couldn’t put his finger on it. He wanted his system to analyze for him but as it was not a crime the system had rejected to do so.
The captain did not give weight to Abby’s words. He wanted an update on all the intruders that had been caught.
"How many flies have we caught so far?"
"Seventy two," Abby laughed. "They really went out of their way this time. These ones are more ruthless than the last ones."
"And the ones with systems?" he asked.
"All gone." Abby put his legs down and smiled at the captain. "I saw the cat running up and down in the hotel and the weird Mafan kid. More than a few assassins were retrieved within minutes of death thanks to the cat. Three are actually dead and as for the the sustem hosts, all have lost their mi ds. It’s getting harder and harder not to tie the lost systems to Alix."
The captain could have cared less, all that was on his mind was the fact that the wedding was over. It was time for Alix to lead him to Afaro. More importantly, it was time to muddy and steer the waters among the six families. It would be easier to make Alix president if they were busy fighting each other.
As long as they were engaged in mutually assisted destruction, the new bureau could be formed. They would swoop in like vultures and collect the benefits.
"Begin executing the plan immediately, send out orders all over the world to our people."
"You know, what we are all doing would be considered a rebellion if we were living in ancient times." Abby commented with a smile.
"Then it’s a good thing we are not in ancient times and you don’t have to worry about losing your head. You just have to worry about me crushing it if you don’t do your job." The captain retorted.
Abby chuckled and sent out the text.
